Chapter 1202
Cornelia would never dare to dream that Marcus could teach her things she didnât understand
Tahlia said, âYeah, President Hartley taught me a lot. But donât overthink it, itâs not because of me that he taught, itâs because of you. I got into the Hartley Group because of you, and I got promoted to the Presidentâs assistant because of youâ
Cornelia laughed and said, âI wonât overthink, just focus on your work with President Hartley. Show everyone your capabilities.â
âSure.â Tahlia said
âYou should take a rest now I should go back to my room as well. Cornelia said
As Comelia was about to leave, Tahlia held her back, âNellyâ
âJust spit it out if you have anything to say, no need to beat around the bush.â Cornelia said.
âNothing. I just want to hug you again and say goodnight!â Tahlia said
Cornelia hugged her, âGoodnight
âGoodnight!â Tahlia said.
After leaving Tahliaâs room, Cornelia went straight back to the master bedroom on the third floor.
She pushed open the door, and Marcus had just come out of the shower. His hair still dripping wet, looking incredibly sexy. But, Comelia didnât have time for that, she quickly grabbed a towel and said, âLet me dry your hair.â
Marcus didnât refuse, and he sat down on a single sofa next to him, making it easier for Cornelia, who was shorter, to dry his hair.
Cornelia gently dried his hair and commented, âYour hair is so thick and dense.â
Marcus closed his eyes, lazily leaned back on the sofa, and didnât respond. Cornelia poked him with her finger, âJeremy, Iâm talking to you, can you hear me?â
It took several seconds for Marcus to lazily respond, âI heard youâ
âYou heard me, so why donât you answer me?â Comelia asked.
Marcus didnât respond. His disregard made Cornelia angry. âJeremy, what the hell do you mean? Do you know Iâve been putting up with you all afternoon?â
âWhat?â Marcus asked
Such a response deeply hurt Cornelia. So what she cared about, what she minded, Marcus didnât care at all. She gave a bitter smile, âDonât you know why Iâm angry?â
Marcus actually asked back, âWhy are you angry?â
Cornelia was so angry that she felt a pain in her chest. âYou havenât been home for several days because of work. Today you finally came back, but you completely ignored me, even didnât glance at me. Shouldnât I be angry?â
âYouâre angry about this? Marcus asked
Cornelia was speechless. She had reason to suspect that Marcus, this man, was deliberately trying to drive her mad.
Marcus said, âIâve been very busy with work recently.â
Cornelia said, âI know youâre very busy, when youâre busy. I try not to disturb you. But when youâre done, can you give me a call, or talk to me more?â
Marcus grabbed her hand, gently pushed it away, âIâve been busy these days, havenât had a good rest. Iâm very sleepy now, gonna go to bedâ
