Chapter 1236
Comeliaâs eyes welled up with tears, âThank you, Granny Luisa.â
Gently patting Corneliaâs head, Granny Luisa said, âSilly girl, didnât we agree long ago that whatever happens between you and Marc wouldnât affect our relationship?â
âYeahâ Cornelia nodded
Granny Luisa then turned to Patricia, âMare isnât worth a damn, itâs fine if Nelly broke up with him. From now on, you take good care of Nelly hereâ
Patricia nodded, âDonât worry. Iâll do my best to look after Nellyâ
Only then did Granny Luisa feel relieved, âHmm Nelly, I guess Iâll be off then.â
âTil walk you out,â Comelia offered.
âNo need, dear, I have people with me, and my personal doctor and nurse are waiting for me downstairs. You should go back to your things.â
Cornelia said, âTake care, Granny. After Granny Rebeccaâs verdict. Iâll come visit youâ
âAlright.â
After bidding goodbye to Granny Luisa, Comelia went back to her room to pack up.
She planned to change into a more formal outfit for court. While changing, she found a delicate jewelry box in her drawer. Inside the box was a necklace, a gift from Marcus called Heavenly Radiance, worth thirty million dollars.
Upon seeing the necklace, she was reminded of the first time she wore it. That day, she sat in the car, and Marcus held the necklace, and kept staring at it. His gaze was so intense that it seemed like he wanted to swallow her whole. Suddenly, he made a move, slipping it around her neck, leaving a huge red hickeyâ¦
Cornelia sneered, taking the jewelry box and putting it in her bag, planning to return the necklace to Marcus later.
Anything he gifted her, she wouldnât keep. Thankfully, Marcus didnât give her many things, so she didnât need to take special time to deal with them.
After packing, Zack drove Cornelia and Abigail to court. Abigail held Corneliaâs hand tightly, wanting to say something several times but couldnât. They had grown up together and knew each other very well.
She knew Cornelia was tough. She might look fine, but inside she could be hurting a lot. Luckily, Cornelia was quick to move on and would never waste time on a man not worth it. She just didnât expect them to run into Marcus. Their car and Marcusâ luxury car entered the parking lot one after the other
âDamn it!â Zack honked the horn.
âNelly. Abigail watched Corneliaâs expression
Corneliaâs face was cold, âZack, letâs park on the left.â
She wanted to avoid Marcus, but he insisted on getting close. Marcusâ luxury car was originally heading to the right side of the parking lot. Maybe there were no parking spaces on that side. Anyway, they turned to the left and even parked next to their car.
