Chapter 1260
âIf you run to mom every time someone bullies you, how are you gonna get a girlfriend?â Hannah said.
Farley didnât respond
Awkwardness filled the air. Cornelia was amused by Hannah and Farleyâs banter Clearly, they got along really well. That was something she didnât have
Cornelia finally found Tahlia, but before they could really settle into life together, Tahlia left. Every lime she thought of Tahlia, Marcus would creep into her mind
When she really thought about it, it had been half a month since she and Marcus split. They hadnât crossed paths since their last court meeting
This was what she wanted, but in the depths of the night, feelings she shouldnât have would creep up on her.
Suddenly, her phone started buzzing nonâstop. Cornelia took out her phone, and a bunch of messages from a strange number flooded her screen
The first one read I told you, Marcus and Jererny are not the same person, but you didnât believe me.]
The second one read [Watch the video I sent you, youâll see the real Marcus ]
Then, a video was sent
Without hesitation, Cornelia deleted all the messages and blocked the number. Shortly after, another strange number called.
Cornelia guessed it was probably Brennen. She didnât want to listen to his nonsense, so she hung up. But he kept calling, even when he had to switch numbers.
Cornelia couldnât take it anymore, so she picked up. âWho is this?â
On the other end, sure enough, Brennens voice came through, âYou know damn well who this is, why ask?â
âMarcus and I are done. Whatever problems you guys have, sort it out yourselves, donât involve meâ Cornelia said.
This news stunned Brennen, âYou guys split? You could bear leaving him? He could bear leaving you?â
âSo why exactly are you calling me?â Cornelia asked.
Brennen replied, âYou have to watch the video I sent you. After you do, give me a call.â
Cornelia responded, âI wonât watch it.â
âCornelia, what are you so afraid of? Afraid of the truth? If you really trust Marcus, whatâs there to be scared of?â Brennen said.
Cornelia chuckled lightly. âYour provocations wonât work on meâ
âHeh, in that case, let Marcus await his fate.â Brennen said.
âBrennen, Marcus is your own flesh and blood. Even a brutal tiger wouldnât eat its own cubs. Look at what youâve done to him. Now youâre even cursing him to die. Having you as a father is his biggest misfortune in life. Cornelia frowned.
Brennen replied, âYou guys split and youâre still defending him. I guess your breakup was pretty amicable.â
âThatâs none of your business.â Cornelia said.
âWell, let me tell you something that is my businessâ Brennen said mysteriously.
âI have no interest in your affairsâ Cornelia replied.
Brennen said, âI just want to let you know, the Hartley Group, the one that shouldâve always been mine, will soon be back in my hands.â
Cornelia couldnât believe it. Marcus was so formidable, how could Brennen possibly take the Hartley Group away from him? But oddly enough, she felt a sense of unease creeping up on her.
