Chapter 1310
Justin asked, âYou know Steven, right?â
Cornelia replied, âOf course I do. Heâs the big shot CEO of the Dixon Group, loaded, handsome, and young to boot. Heâs always plastered over celebrity magazines, how could I not know him?â
Justin said, âThatâs not what I was getting at.â
Cornelia asked, âThen what are you asking about?â
Justin said, âCornelia, you agreed to meet with me, which means you know you have a problem and you want to solve it. But now youâre not cooperating, not telling me the truth. How am I supposed to help you?â
Cornelia asked, âDr. Terrel, do you really think you can help me?â
Justin replied, âI can. You have to trust me.â
Looking at the determination in Justinâs eyes, Cornelia slowly let her smile fade, her beautiful eyes filled with endless loneliness, âDr. Terrel, I think Iâm sick.â
Justin said, âI know.â
Trembling with emotion, Cornelia said, âI canât control myself, I canât. Dr. Terrel, please help me, save my child!â
Justin held her hand, patting it gently, âCornelia, as long as you trust me and tell me whatâs bothering you, I can help you. We can fight this sickness.â
Cornelia asked, âTell you what?â
Justin said, âWhatâs eating you up inside.â
Cornelia hesitated, and then slowly said, âDo you remember Marcus?â
Justin replied, âI remember.â
Cornelia said, âHe wasnât just my boss, he was my husband. But weâre divorced now.â
Justin said, âI know.â
Cornelia asked, âYou know? Of course, youâre his hire. How could you not know? Iâm the only one who didnât know.â
Justin asked, âAre you worried because you heard heâs dead?â
Cornelia laughed, âWorried about him? Do you know what heâs done? How could a man like that deserve my worry?â
Justin said, âJust tell me, yes or no.â
Cornelia laughed again. Somewhere along the way, sheâd learned to mask her true feelings with a smile, âHe was having an affair during our marriage. The thought of it makes me sick.â
âCornelia, if you want to get better, donât avoid the question. You have to confront it headâon.â Justin said, his eyes boring into her as if he could see right through her.
Under his gaze, Cornelia felt exposed, âItâs ridiculous, isnât it? He did something so repulsive, but hearing of his death still makes me sad. How did I become like this?â
Hearing Corneliaâs admission, Justin let out a sigh of relief, âThatâs a normal reaction. Thereâs no shame in it.â
Cornelia said, âBut I feel ashamed.â
Justin said, âCornelia, you need a change of attitude: Be more diplomatic, less stubborn.â

He then asked, âLet me ask you again, youâre divorced now. Does it still matter that he had an affair?â
Cornelia said, âDoesnât it matter?â
Justin asked, âCan you tell me why itâs so important?â
Cornelia replied, âMaybe it doesnât matter anymore, itâs just that I find it revolting. Absolutely revolting! So revolting that it makes me want to throw up.â
âSo every time you eat, all you can think about is your exâhusband and his mistress doing despicable things?â Justin was adept at getting to the heart of the matter, his question was blunt.
After asking, Justin didnât take his eyes off Cornelia. He wanted to know what Cornelia was really thinking, so he could help her solve her problem.
