Chapter 1506
Jarvis followed her into the house. âWho said I was just kidding around? I told ya, when he turns eighteen, Iâm definitely gifting him a car.â
Hannah replied, âNo need. Your money didnât come easy.â
This statement silenced Jarvis, who was previously laughing and cheerful. Heâd been around for nearly thirty years, and met a lot of people, many of whom called themselves his friends, but few were really considerate towards him. A lot of these so-called friends were only interested in his wealth, hoping to get a piece of the pie.
When people referred to him, they always mentioned his familyâs wealth. Some even cheekily called him the âfoolish rich guy.â But no one ever acknowledged that his wealth was hard-earned too.
When he spent generously, everyone took it for granted, not a soul ever pitied his money. Except for Hannah, she was the first. Suddenly, it seemed as if a light was shining behind her, a light that deeply attracted his gaze.
âHannahâ¦â He called out her name, pulling her into a tight embrace.
His sudden action startled Hannah. She gently pushed him away. âJarvis, what are you doing? Steven is in the yard, he canât see us, so we donât need to put on an
actâ¦âe2
Jarvisâ deep, rhythmic voice entered her ears. âHannah, will you be my girlfriend?â
Hannah didnât understand why he said this. âHavenât we discussed this before? Why are you bringing it up again?â
Jarvis responded, âI think Iâm really falling for you.â
Hannah didnât believe him. âJarvis, letâs not joke about this. Itâs not funny at all.â
Jarvis let go of her, looking seriously into her eyes. âIâm not joking!â
His eyes were very serious. Clearly, he was not joking. Hannah was somewhat shocked. âYou know very well, you know whatâs in my heartâ¦â
Jarvis interrupted her, âWhether you still have someone else in your heart doesnât matter. What matters is whether you plan to get back together with him.â
Hannah instinctively shook her head, then nodded.
Jarvis asked her, âWhat do you mean?â
Hannah answered, âRight now, I just want to recover from my leg injury. I havenât considered starting a new relationship.â
Jarvis chuckled. âI get it. Iâm heading back to the Capital tonight. Itâs getting late, so Iâll pass on the grilled fish. Could you walk me out?â
Hannah felt very sorry. âJarvis, Iâm so sorry!â
Jarvis replied, âNo need to apologize, you didnât do anything wrong. Love canât be forced. If you donât like me, you just donât. You havenât done anything wrong.â
Hannah said, âThank you for understanding!â
Jarvis raised his hand, gently ruffling her hair. âYou shouldnât always put others before yourself. Itâs right for me to understand you, and if I donât, thatâs my problem?
Hannahâ¦â
Hannah replied, âHmm?â
Jarvis said, âRemember this, whenever and wherever you face a problem, first look for the problem externally rather than blaming yourself immediately. If you can do this, youâll find your life much happier.â
Hannah nodded and said, âIâll remember.â
Jarvis said, âIâm leaving now.â
Hannah asked, âAre you sure you donât want to have some grilled fish before you go?â
Jarvis said, âSteven and your dad prepared the grilled fish. If I leave without eating, how can I see Steven get mad?â
Hannah didnât respond.
Jarvis said, âGuess Iâll eat before I go then.â
He thought to himself, he was definitely going to piss Steven off!
