Briana was pissed off, âWhy canât he call Cornella back? Sheâs his wife. He might be caught up with stuff, but whatâs more important than his wife?â
Dr. Dawson replied, âMarc is in the hospital. Heâs not wellâ
Briana was shocked. âWhat happened to my brother? Is it serious?â
Knowing Marc, he wouldâve definitely called Cornelia back if it wasnât serious.
âHeâs in a coma right now,â Dr. Dawson replied.
Upon hearing this, Briana was anxious, âTII go explain to Cornelia. Which hospital are you in? Iâm coming now.â
âNo need for you to come. Iâm here with Marc. And donât tell Comelia, Marc doesnât want her to know,â said Dr. Dawson.
This made Brana even more funous, âMy brother is lying unconscious and you didnât inform us. I didnât blame you for that. Now I want to see him, and youâre stopping me? Do you think youâre closer to him? Let me tell you, Cornelia is the closet person to my brother. Theyâre legally married, and no matter what happens, you should tell herâ
Dr. Dawson replied coldly, âNow you remember that youâre the closest ones to Marc? How many dangers has he faced these years, do you know? Who was with him when he was in danger, do you know? We were the ones who always stood by his side, protecting him!â
With that, Dr. Dawson hung up.
Brana, listening to the busy tone, felt something was off, but couldnât pinpoint what. Now wasnât the time to ponder though. She needed to placate Cornelia and not let her worry.
So, she immediately called Comelia back, âComelia, I just spoke to Jeremyâs colleague. He told me Jeremy didnât reply because his phone was stolen and he hasnât had a chance to replace it yetâ
âIs that really the case?â asked Comelia.
âIf you donât believe me, I can give you his colleagueâs number. You can ask him yourself, replied Briana.
Hearing this, Cornelia was finally relieved, âThatâs fine, as long as he didnât run into some kind of trouble.â
Heâs definitely not okay! Your intuition was spot on!
Although Bnana wanted to tell Cornelia the truth, she didnât want her to worry and made up a story, âComelia, heâs a grown man, what could possibly happen to -him? Be honest, do you think heâs run off with some other woman if he doesnât contact you for a day?â

After giving it some thought, Briana decided to tell Cornelia about Marcus. Cornelia was her sisterâinâlaw, and if everyone kept Cornelia in the dark about Marcus. sheâd feel awful when she eventually finds out.
âCornelia, thereâs nothing wrong with Jeremy, but my brother is in some trouble, continued Briana.
âWhat happened to President Hartley? Cornelia asked.
âMy brotherâs in the hospital. Heâs ill, replied Briana.
âIs it serious?â Cornelia asked, concerned.
