Why couldn’t she tell him that in person? Was there a hidden meaning?

Marcus thought for a moment, “Do you want me to watch the light show with you?”

Cornelia added, “Hannah was supposed to watch the light show with us, but Steven has her stuck at the poker table. Can you do something to make Steven let her go?”

Marcus leaned in and whispered, “Cornelia, you shouldn’t meddle in a couple’s affairs.”

Marcus continued, “Every couple has their own way of dealing with things. How do you know this isn’t their way of having fun?”

He seemed to make a lot of sense.

The couple had had a little spat today but it wasn’t anything senous. They’d probably kiss and make up by the end of the night.
