As they were talking the man in the distance suddenly looked up at them. Just a quick glance, and they all shivered in fear

“That guy’s got some scary eyes”

“Do you think he’s a fugitive?”

“Could be, why else would he be with Cornelia?”

“Should we call the cops? Get them arrested”

“Call the cops! We can’t have a murderer in our neighborhood”

“I don’t think he’s a criminal though. Doesn’t have the look or vibe of one.”

As they were heatedly discussing they saw Cornelia walking towards them with a smile.

Cornelia couldn’t hear exactly what they were saying, but she knew it wasn’t anything good. “Leila, you’re Leila right? And you, you’re Marina?”

This time, facing their comments, Cornelia didn’t avoid them but walked over with a smile, “Long time no see, how’ve you been?”

Cornelia greeted with a smile, and they responded quite friendly on the surface, “Yeah, it’s been a while! What brings you back?”

But compared to Cornelia, they were more interested in the strangers behind her, who all had quite an impressive demeanor, “And who might these people be?”

Cornelia introduced them openly. “This is my husband, this is his grandma, and this is his sister.”

Cornelia’s husband was so good looking, even better than TV stars. Seeing him made her feel quite bitter. “What did she do in Rosenberg?” Marcus stepped in front of Cornelia, blocking those malicious gazes, “You better have evidence, or else you’re just slandering. You know what slander is, right? If you don’t, you can look it up online”

And there was Grandma Luisa, there was no way she’d let anyone bully Cornelia, “You’re all women. We shouldn’t be giving each other a hard time. We know what kind of person Cornelia is, and we certainly don’t need you gossipers judging. If I hear you slandering her again, I won’t let it slide”

Briana also stood up for Cornelia, “She’s the best girl in the world, and if anyone dares slander her, I won’t let it slide either.”
