Chapter 904
After Comelia made a decision, Marcus got on the blower to Dylan right away. Upon receiving the instructions, Dylan nailed it in just a few minutes. He rang Marcus back, âPresident Hartley, Iâve sorted out the big screen stuff. Weâre good to go with the ad anytime. Theyâve stopped running the other advertsâ
Marcus shot back, Tve sent you the video, play it nowâ
âAlrightâ Dylan got the video rolling, but much to his surprise, it wasnât an advert pushing a product, but a video that made him cringe.
The man in the video had his face clearly visible, while the girlâs face and several revealing parts were blurred out. Yet, he instantly recognized the girl as Cornelia, âPresident Hartley, is that your assistant Cornelia in the video?â
Marcus questioned, âHow did you know it was her?â
Dylan replied. âComeliaâs a looker with a killer figure. Anyone who knows her would recognize her, blurred or not.â
Marcus responded, âNo worries, just do as Iâve instructedâ
Dylan hesitated, âPresident Hartley, Corneliaâs been your assistant for over a year. Even if sheâs ticked you off, airing her video in public like this isnât kosherâ
Marcus was puzzled why Dylan would think he was out to get Cornelia, âIn the video, Corneliaâs the victim. Weâre trying to expose the perpetratorâ
Dylan added, âSure, Corneliaâs the victim, but sheâs also a girl. Having this aired in public might make it hard for her to find a partner.â
Marcus retorted, âSheâs married! She has a husband!â
Dylan asked, âCorneliaâs married? Couldnât tell, she seems so young to be married. Does her hubby know about this? I bet heâd kick up a fuss if he knew
Marcus argued, âWhy would her husband fuss about it if sheâs the victim?â
Dylan said, âPresident Hartley, although that guy didnât physically harm Cornelia, he did take her to a room and got caught by his wife who accused Cornelia of seducing a married man. Thatâs a black mark, and no guy would truly be okay with that. Even if her husband says heâs okay with it, I bet heâs not deep down.â
Marcus, unable to change othersâ stereotypical views of a girl and not wanting to explain further, snapped, âShut it! Just do your job.â
âAlrightâ Dylan agreed quickly, but he felt bad for Cornelia. He had no idea what Cornelia had done to tick off President Hartley to the point of treating her like this.
He guessed that the company might announce a new assistant for President Hartley the next day. He wasnât sure if the next person to become President Hartleyâs assistant would be lucky or unfortunate.
