Judging from how cheerful she sounded, he guessed it was not a bad time but still asked to be sure because with women, you never know with them.

“Did I call at a bad time?” He asked softly

*Of course not!I would have called you anyway” She said brightly.

“Are you okay? He had to let out the question that had been bugging his mind

“Of course! Sorry I left on such a little notice, my friend….” She started to explain but Liam cut her off.

“It’s fine, it was almost time to leave office anyway How about your friend? Is she okay?” He asked.

Carla took longer to reply as she hummed thoughtfully “Yes and no ”

Liam frowned “Oh, anything I can help with? Do you need some company?”

Carla’s eyes widened slightly “A talk might help, are you free?”

“Sure, I’ll be at your place before you know it “Liam said, already picking up his car keys.

“Okay “Carla said and hung up.

She quickly went up to change her clothes and did her hair in a decent way. She frowned, thinking something was off. She wanted to look good for him but couldn’t figure out why. She wasn’t in love with him so why should she care what he thought about her appearance?

She shrugged, checking herself one last time in the mirror before she went to wait in the living room for him. Jenny left a while ago, saying she had some things to do at the restaurant but Carla knew she lied, she just wanted to be alone. She couldn’t blame her though, she had once experienced a heartbreak so she knew exactly how it felt.

Liam pulled up in front of her home and he got out. He walked towards the door but before he could knock, it swung opened and Carla came out. She went straight into his arms, it was as if she needed a warm body. Liam’s mouth curled up in a smile at her action, he hadn’t expect it really and it made him glad to know she actually called him to come keep her company. She could have called someone else but she had thought about him. His smile widened as he patted her back in soothing motions. She finally drew back from the hug.

“Sorry I didn’t invite you in immediately, I was just…” Her sentence was cut off as Liam laughed.

*You are happy to see me Bella, doesn’t it explain why you flew straight into my arms?” He laughed some more

She glared at him “Of course not! I was just… Just… Look, I’m going in, you can stay out and freeze in the cold for all I care!*

With that said, she went in and the sound of Liam’s laughter followed her too. Suddenly, she turned to him and found him right behind her.

She moved some frantic steps backwards in surprise but he pulled her back to him, his warm hard body grounding against her soft one.

She glared at him “What’s up with this?”

“I’m so happy you called me Bella, the fact that you thought of me makes me happy “He said softly and caressed her bottom lip with his thumb.

Carla was taken aback by the affectionate look in his eyes. For a second, she thought she saw love in his eyes but the look was gone quickly and was replaced with a mischievous one

“You think about me every night, don’t you?” He whispered into her ear and licked her earlobe.

Her eyes widened “Of course not! Why would… L… “Her voice trailed off and she moaned in response to the treat he was giving her.

“You like that?” He asked in a low, seductive tone.

She nodded “Yeah….I… Like….” She wasn’t allowed to say more as he carried her in a bridal style and went to the couch.

He laid her down gently and leaned towards her with his eyes closed. Carla knew what he wanted to do and she was anticipating it already. She clenched her hands tightly in fists and waited impatiently to feel his lips on hers. She got tired of waiting when she opened her eyes and found out that he was teasing her. That jerk! She thought. Smiling in a sly way, she moved up and met his lips halfway. His eyes widened slightly in surprise as though he didn’t expect her to do that. “Liam… Your… Weight” She stopped talking and tried to push him off her

He got the message and supported his weight by popping his hands on either side of her but he didn’t release her.

She raised her eyebrows questioningly “What is it? Let me go “She tried to push him again but Liam was way too strong for her. Liam smirked and stared deeply into her eyes without a word

She sighed tiredly and fell back on the couch “Ugh! Why won’t you let me go?”

His eyes turned dark “I’ll never let you go, Carla He said in a low, dangerous tone and Carla had a feeling he meant every word.

The dark expression disappeared quickly and he smirked *Im not done with you of course” He said in a more lighter tone and his eyes swept down slowly to her lips.

Involuntarily, Carla sucked in deep breath and touched her lips and felt blush slowly crept up her cheeks.

“Now let’s continue from where we left off” He drawled and leaned towards her again.

His hot breath fanned her face and he was about to place his lips on hers when a shrilling sound was heard and she pushed him away quickly. It was her damn phone, he thought grimly.

He cursed softly and let go of her. She stood up and walked in the direction the sound came from. He watched her ass shook and instantly, he felt a

strain against his trousers as his dick twitched He slammed his fist into the soft leather and groaned audibly in frustration.

Carla walked away briskly, glad to get away from him. Oh, who are you kidding? You know you wanna be with him, a voice in her head sneered. She shook her head and shoved the voice away from her mind. She picked up her phone and saw it was Jenny.

“Hey what’s up? She asked anxiously

Jenny laughed from the other end” Calm your ass down girl, I won’t die of heartbreak you know”

Carla rolled her eyes “Okay what is it?”

“I called you to tell you I won’t be coming home tonight Jenny said casually

Carla’s eyes widened What? Why? Where will you pass the night? I thought you said you’d pass the night here”

“Calm down kitten, one question at a time Jenny said in a quite light tone.

Carla sighed ‘Okay what is it?”

“I just want to stay here and think some things through Jenny said quietly.

“And where are you?” Carla asked with a raised eyebrow She looked back at Liam and found his eyes glued to her backside. What a pervert, she thought, gripping her phone tighter

“My restaurant Jenny said casually

“You’re going to spend the night in your restaurant?! Carla asked, shocked

“Yes”

“Why?“Carla asked with wide eyes

*I just told you the reason” Jenny answered and Carla knew she rolled her eyes.

*I know, but it doesn’t make any sense, you can come here and think all you want, I won’t get in your way” Carla said, trying to convince her to spend the night with her

“No Carla, I wanna stay here, I’ll be safe, okay? You dont need to worry about me Jenny said sadly

Carla sighed and let go, knowing she wouldn’t be able to convince Jenny once her mind was made up on something

“Okay, be safe, okay?” She finally said.

*Sure” Jenny said in a more lighter tone

“I love you” Carla said softly

Carla sighed again and placed the phone on the table and turned to go back to the living room but found that Liam was behind her again. The guy sure knew how to creep up on someone, she thought

Giving him a tight smile, she said “What are you doing here? Have you been listening in on my conversation?”

He knew her smile was not genuine but was undeterred anyway I came here when I heard you say you love someone, who do you love aside from me?” He asked softly and brushed his thumb against her lips
