Carla glared at him playfully âYeah, I said I went to the hospitalâ
Liam nodded âI heard that, all I want to know is what the doctor said youâre battling with, cold? Fever? Flu? Heck I want to know everything âHe got
serious now.
âCalm down Carla cautioned lightly
âThatâs what Iâm doing, isnât it?â Liam spoke up.
âJust shut up or Iâll chop off your dick and feed it to the fishes âShe shouted.
Liam laughed âNow Iâm scared, would like to see you try that but itâs only one Iâve gotâ
Carla rolled her eyes âSo I went to the hospital to see a doctor and after I told her everything, she said sheâd have to run a couple of tests on meâ¦â
Again, Liam interrupted âYou were made to do tests?! That sounds pretty bad and yuckyâ
Carla scoffed âYucky is not the word dummy â
This time, it was Liam who rolled his eyes âWhatever
âSoâ¦? He prompted.
*So I did the tests of courseâ She made it seem like his question was stupid.
âOf course you did the tests, so what were the results? Some flu you caught when we went to Houston?â He asked casually but what came out of Carlaâs lips next shocked him to the core.
*The results shows Iâm pregnant âShe blurted out and watched Liam go still. She brought out the results and handed them to him. He collected both silently and went through everything thoroughly
When he was done, he looked up âYouâre carrying my child??â He whispered hoarsely, his voice thick with emotion.
She nodded âSo I was told and she shrugged.
He moved back slowly and looked at her flat tummy âA sweet, little, living soul we made together is in there?â He gulped and stared at her tummy like he wanted to see for himself.
Carla slapped his arm playfully Stop silly! You donât expect him or her to pop out any moment, do you?â
That finally brought him out of his tranceâ Oh! Uh⦠Bella. He coughed slightly My baby is in you?â He whispered.
She nodded and her gaze on him was tender Yeah, the baby we made together âShe said softly
âOh baby âHe croaked out and engulfed her in a warm hug. Carla let him hug her without a word, it was his moment to reminisce the change that was about to take place in their lives. This was the one thing that brought them together, it was what they lived for since the day one. He sniffed and Carla wondered if he was crying.
âHey, are you crying?â She asked teasingly
But when he drew back from the hug, there was no traces of tears and he rolled his eyes in a way Carla found cute.
âI was not crying, duhâ He replied and placed kisses on her hands..
*Really? Carla teased him some more and laughed.
Liam glared at her playfully for a minute until the look was replaced with a tender one that made Carla feel special.
âI canât express how happy I am Bella, how happy you made me with this news âHe said softly.
âSo Iâm going to be a fatherâ He mused
âAnd Iâm going to be a mother Carla put in and they smiled at each other..
âCome on â He said and set her on her feet gently.
âWhy?â She asked as she straightened out her dress.
*Come on âHe repeated as he tried to make his tie neat. Carla assisted him with him and he muttered his thanks.
âWhere are we going?â She asked again
âI wonât move an inch if you refuse to tell me âShe said stubbornly and crossed her arms under her breasts.
Liam sighed, whatâs with women and their stubborn attitude? Now a pregnant one at that. Geez, his hands would be full. He already had trouble trying to make her do his bidding but now that she was carrying his child, it would way difficult to get her to do what he wanted.
She feigned tiredness all of a sudden. Well, he would be damned, exactly what he was just thinking about. She would even be more difficult now that she had a tangible reason
âOw Iâm tired already, you know the thing with pregnant women and getting tired easily. I might just sleep on this soft, comfortable couch âShe said and feigned a yawn
Liam rolled his eyesâ Come on Bella, we wonât take longâ
She placed her hands on her hipsâ Then tell me where weâre going
*Really, itâs not gonnaâ¦â He started to speak again but Carla cut him off with a big, fake yawn.
*Owww, Iâm tiredâ She closed her eyes and opened one to look at Liam who was tired of her drama already
Okay fine, weâre going sightseeing âHe finally told her.
She perked up âSightseeing? Wow thatâs really good, a very good way to make an expecting mother relax, donât you think so honey? And she smiled at him sweetly
Liam rolled his eyes again âNow, shall we go?â
*Yeah sureâ She answered with a huge smile and held out her hand to be pulled up in which Liam did without any more complain.
He placed his hands on the small of her back and they left the office. They met Amanda on the way and she screamed on sighting Liam.
*Carla!â She shrieked and flew into Carlaâs open arms, almost knocking them both down but for the timely intervention of Liam
âCareful âHe warned lightly.
Amanda smiled sheepishly âIâm sorry sir, Iâm just so happy to see Carla! Aww, itâs been a while honâ
Carla squeezed her hands âSame here darling, Iâm glad to see you tooâ
âHow have you been?â Amanda asked, looking interested.
