Chapter 59
Carla shrugged âIâve been doing pretty good as you can see, how are you too?â She asked in return.
Amanda smiled âIâm good too, but heck, I missed you so muchâ
âI missed you more Carla replied and they both laughed.
*Imagine how I felt when I heard about your wedding. She meant to start a long conversation but Liam cut her off
âIâm sorry Amanda, but we really have somewhere to be right now. You guys can talk later and catch up on good of times but right now, we really have to go âHe said apologetically
âOh itâs fine boss, weâll talk later, right Carla? Amanda asked, sending Carla a motherly smile.
Carla smiled back âOf course, see ya!â She managed to say as Liam practically dragged her away.
âBye!â Amanda shouted after her.
*Wait!â She snapped at Liam and he released his hold on her with an exhausted sigh
*What is it, woman?â He asked wearily.
She glared at him âI am perfectly capable of walking, thank youâ
âIâm sorryâ Liam apologized
She smiled up at him âHey itâs fine and she snaked her hands around his arm. As usual, they were the object of attention as people stared at them openly
They walked to the executive parking space where Ben stood, waiting. He looked awkward and scared maybe as Liam pinned his hard gaze on him.
He trembled slightly âGood Good day sirâ And he looked to Carla any help of some sort and Carla gave him a reassuring smile.
âWeâll have a man to man talk later Ben, but right now, I have to go outâ
Ben nodded automatically and opened the car door.
*And Iâm driving so you can do whatever you want till I get back âLiam said and went over to the driverâs side.
He got in and his butt had barely hit the seat when Carla started her interrogation
*So where are we going and what are we going to do there?â She asked, a bright smile on her face.
Liam groaned and instead of replying, he reached over and did her seatbelt properly. Carla repeated her question, louder this time.
Liam grunted âI thought I already told youâ
She started to argue âBut you didnâtâ¦
Liam cut in âI explained everything Carla, SIGHTSEEING, I did say that â
âOh That was the only reply she gave and she sat back on the seat, letting the air blow her hair.
The ride took about twenty minutes and Carla enjoyed every bit of it. He stopped the car in front of a chapel, church or whatever. Then he came to open the door for her. She sent him a smile of gratitude as he helped her down.
âWhatâs this place?â She breathed out in admiration.
He came up beside her âItâs called Veraâs Templeâ
âWow, itâs beautiful She took in the tall building, it looked sacred and at the same time, a sight for tourist attraction.
âYeahâ He agreed
âWhy did you bring me here?â She asked, glancing sideways at his profile.
He shrugged âThis was the first place on my mind when you told me the news, I donât know why the thought came to me
âIâm glad you brought me here, itâs indeed a beautiful sightâ She said softly, her voice trembling slightly
âAlways at your service maâamâ He teased and gave her a mocking bow.
She laughed and walked some steps ahead of him, taking in everything the beautiful building had to offer. She turned to a walkway that readâ OUR LADYâ and got curious. She saw a few ladies at the entrance of the doorway. She started walking in their direction.
âNot that way! Liam shouted from behind her.
She looked back to regard him and she raised her eyebrows quizzically âWhat?â
He smirked âYou donât belong there anymoreâ
She frowned âWhy? What do you mean?â
He grinned at her wolfishly âItâs for virgins only and you donât belong in there anymore, do you?*
She blushed furiously âOh and turned away
Liam laughed behind her âYou donât donât to be embarrassed, Bella*
Oh shut up She snapped and turned to glare at him. He saw that her cheeks were a bright shade of pink.
He laughed some more and followed her. Carla got her fill of the temple or whatever it was that Liam had called it. For the first time in a long time, she prayed, really prayed. She prayed for her unborn child, her future and Liam. She enjoyed being at the sacred temple that it was getting dark when Liam
was finally able to convince her that they should leave.
*Liam, I would love to come here againâ¦. âShe said, smiling.
*Request granted âHe agreed instantly, when all he wanted to do was to haul her in the car and take her home because it was getting pretty dark.
*When our child is bornâ She completed her sentence.
He stopped and stared into her eyes âYou would really like that?â He asked softly
She nodded âOf courseâ
âThen your wish is granted âHe smiled down at her.
Come on âHe said, clasping her hand in his and they walked to the car.
âThank you âShe said softly when they were in the car.
âFor?â He asked, glancing sideways at her.
âFor bringing me hereâ She replied and placed her hands on his thighs..
âYou deserve it, baby âHe said and sent her a welcoming smile.
