Chapter 20: Chapter 19 | Hanadagi

Yukashi | VK Fanfic | ✓Words: 9877

It is moments such as these that Yukashi questions himself as a father. If the decisions he made were right for Taji, if it is worth leaving his son all on his own while he goes to aid Kaname. Despite how his heart throbs by the mere thought of his son missing him, there is nothing Yukashi can do.

Otherwise, Kaname would not have asked Yukashi to leave his son if it were not important. Yukashi must remind himself it is to protect his son.

Soft blues observe the silkiness of Zero's silver hair; snow white skin glows as the sun's glare reflected by a glass strategically placed for it to slither toward the poster bed frame. Inhaling, Yukashi's mind spins at the euphoric and saccharine fragrance of his soul mate. Shifting closer, his hands tucked closely to himself while Zero's arm is locked around Yukashi's waist.

The urge to touch the vampire hunter becomes a battle Yukashi finds himself losing rather quickly. A smile etches on his face, brightening the blue eyes staring intently at the resting face of Zero's. The Kagura had been refreshing, everything had clicked into place and that moment when Zero had gazed upon him during the season dance, something told Yukashi everything was going to be okay.

He's aware of the silver-haired hunter needing time to adjust properly in this newfound situation between them—however, Yukashi is relieved Zero is holding him. His heart palpitated quicker, lips pulled apart for a moment as he draws impossibly closer yet resists his temptation. It isn't until Zero's arm tightens around his waist and moves his head slightly does he become aware of Zero's awareness.

"How long have you been awake?" The hunter murmurs softly, eyes remaining shut as he closes the distance between their bodies. Yukashi's cheeks become a bright pink, fingers uncurling from under his chin and glide his fingers over the soft snowy white skin. Tingles explode from their touch, the heat of the mark on Yukashi's skin would have blistered him if it were not for the tinges of delight running through his blood.

This time Zero does open his eyes—lavender gazes at soft blues tenderly. The arm over the thin blanket covering their bodies is slipped under; hand diving underneath the shirt in order to feel Yukashi's skin. They visibly melt onto each other, sighing as Yukashi tucks his head beneath the hunter's chin and inhales.

"Not long." Yukashi answers.

The hot breath hits the hollow of Zero's throat and the blonde hair Pureblood senses the vigorous shivers running through Zero's frame. The smile on Yukashi's lips widens, pressing his lips onto the hunter's seal resulting in it glowing bright red. Averting his attention to Zero's face the crimson glow has swallowed the pretty lavender.

Exhaling, the hunter's hand rubs circles around the blonde's back, "I want to ask you something." Zero declares, eyes expressing his strong need for an answer. The platinum blonde haired Pureblood maintains his smile appearing as if he has no idea what questions are running through the hunter's head. "What is it?" Yukashi asks softly not the slightest bit curious.

"What did Kaname ask you to help him with?"

Blinking, Yukashi contemplates how to explain it to the silver hair vampire without making it seem far too serious. Actually, it is a dire situation and if handled tactlessly it could result in unfortunate events. "There is a Pureblood named Sara Shirabuki. Kaname has notified me of her posing as a threat; recently she had awakened the Lord of the Hanadagi family from his slumber. We're unsure what her plans truly are and what role does Hanadagi play." He finally says.

Zero frowns, seemingly trying to grasp onto the fact Yukashi has answered his questions and at the same time grows concerned. Yukashi studies his expressions, hand gliding upward from Zero's bare arm to his face. Tucking strands behind his ear—patiently waiting for him to say anything at all.

"She woke up a Lord? Like...a Lord Lord or just a Pureblood with the title of Lord?"

The blonde caresses Zero's face affectionately, "Hanadagi is the Progenitor of the Hanadagi family. Sara Shirabuki awoke a Progenitor and before Hanadagi, a descendant of mine Isaya Shoto awakened three weeks ago. It's unclear if it is her doing or if Isaya awakened on his own." Yukashi elaborates.

Heaving a deep sigh, Zero rests his hand on Yukashi's hip; dipping his head forward to press his lips onto Yukashi's forehead. The Progenitor shows a brief remorse; a part of him wishes to tell him, the other is too afraid if telling Zero the entire truth would utterly destroy what they have. Yukashi has seen it.

For a split second, he had seen how he loses Zero. And Yukashi is trying everything in his power to prevent it from happening except he knows better. He knows what happens when he tries to interfere with fate's outcomes.

He also knows he'd do anything to protect the people he loves. Taji, Zero, and Kaname. Surprise freezes him in place when he unexpectedly feels a pair of lips on his, the next minute he responds instinctively. Before anything could occur the door to Yukashi's bedroom opens and a small blonde dashes in and jumps onto the bed.

"Good morning!" Taji chirps, wiggling his way between Yukashi and Zero; a strange look goes across the hunter's face which does not go unnoticed by Yukashi. They move away allowing the young boy to lay in between them, grinning.

The blonde Pureblood rests his arm around his son smiling and kissing his cheek, "Good morning, Taji." The little boy giggles tucking his head beneath Yukashi's chin. Blue eyes flicker up to Zero who observes them intently making no movements of drawing closer. There's a stillness in his movements, clearly attempting to be comfortable with the situation making Yukashi much more concerned.

Except the concern serves for nothing when Zero's hand glides through the thick blonde tresses of the little boy who begins to wiggle and laugh. "You're up early." Zero says gruffly sending pleasant shivers down Yukashi's spine. Taji tilts his head back leaning further onto the hunter's large hand to try and look at him—smiling, "No, you were sleeping too long and you missed breakfast."

Yukashi is surprised. He never misses breakfast—as a matter of fact, he never sleeps extensively considering the handful of years he has spent in slumber before awakening. The Pureblood spaces out as Taji and Zero engage in a silly argument with Zero's fingers feelings through the mane of platinum blonde matching Yukashi's.

Soon enough they are interrupted by the butler of the Shojo mansion—Eichi. Yukashi grants him entry, rising up from the bed with Zero's lavender eyes gazing at the side of his placid face. The vampire enters donning his daily uniform, "Lord, you have a pending call from Lord Kaname Kuran." The announcement sends a stillness through the atmosphere.

He sensed the distaste of Zero fairly quickly, "I will be there." Yukashi replies. The blonde slips off the large mattress covered in the most opulence of silk and highest quality of wood. Yukashi appears in front of a telephone nearing the entry of his mansion and a sitting area to greet his guests, he places the device onto his ear expectantly. "I assume this is an emergency." His voice is moderate, filled with unknown knowledge.

"Yes, it seems so. Return to the academy immediately, we were warned of an attack occurring some time tomorrow and there is a possibility Hanadagi will come." Kaname's tone is authoritative, edged with a deep concern for Yukashi. The Progenitor knows what he has to do, to protect the young humans in the academy, to protect his son, and his lover he must do the one thing against the laws of Purebloods.

Killing the Pureblood Progenitor.

Slim fingers carefully pull the knot at the hollow of a soft throat; the attire is sharp, immaculate, and bleeding of power. The man's facial features are flawless and striking, gazing through a body mirror in disapproval preferring a kimono wrapped around the tall muscular frame that gives him more freedom of movements rather than these clothes restricting to his body.

He knows he must get used to it. The world has changed for those five thousand years he had last seen it. "It looks perfect, Hanadagi." Sara Shirabuki compliments softly, voice like a flower, and dresses like the ethereal beauty she is in a black dress accompanied by white ruffles at the bottom, blonde locks cascading down to her feet and her light blue eyes are clear—pure.

The man himself can see how much of an angel she appears except he knows better. He knows how deceiving the female vampire is; Hanadagi's light hair falls over his shoulders, bangs messily sliding down his attractive countenance, "Perfect? I doubt so, humans seem to have become more creative and so far I am disliking this informal style. It goes against all of my traditions." Hanadagi's voice is cold, unpleasant; void of any emotions in general.

Sara musters a smile, brightening the softness of her skin and the roundness of her face accentuated by the bangs framing the shape, "Yukashi Shoto should be returning to the academy tomorrow after the message I have left Kaname." She declares.

Hanadagi's eyes glow a bright red—so bright it appears nearly pink; jaws clenched tightly resulting in his power leaking from his frame of perfection shattering the body mirror, "I will be heading by the Shoto Residence. I hear he had a son a few years ago." Hanadagi's lips lift slightly at the notions running through his head.

The blonde beauty gazes at the man unfazed as he turns to face her expressionlessly, "Will you be in time for dinner?" Is her question. The light hair man does not respond, feeling no obligation to do so, he leaves the room with only several words, "I expect a kimono when I return."
