Serena's POV
It had been a few months since the incident at work and luckily for me it didn't happen again.
Toni ended up going back to work and was getting happier and happier, I think she was just glad that things were going back to normal.
"Hey baby," Toni turned and looked at me smiling,
"What love?" She asked,
I smiled, thinking before I replied, "I want a baby," she didn't replied straight away and my smile faded and I started panicking, that's when she smiled and hugged me, "I do too baby girl,".
"Thank god," she laughed in my ear. I'm not really sure how that would've gone down if she didn't want a baby.
"I don't know where to even begin though," Toni stated. "I guess we'll have to do lots of research then baby," I replied smiling at her before kissing her.
2 YEARS LATER
I fell onto the couch next to Toni completely exhausted. She wrapped her arm around my shoulder and pulled me close to her. She kissed the side of my head, "what do you want to watch baby?"
"Anything my love," I replied, "I'm going to make popcorn," Toni got up and went to the kitchen, just after I heard the microwave go off I heard crying.
"I'll go get her baby," Toni called out to me, she came back 10 minutes later with our daughter in her arms.
"She won't stop crying baby can you try settle her please?" As soon as Toni handed her to me she instantly calmed down.
I rocked her till she fell asleep. She always seemed to calm down when I held her. I'm pretty sure it made Toni jealous but if it did she never told me about it!!
We talked about going through IVF and went and had tests done. I couldn't carry because of the chemo and radiation that I had, and when we got the results back for Toni we found out she was infertile. We were devastated. Toni was so strong in front of me but I could hear her crying at night when she thought I was asleep. It broke my heart seeing her like that and I didn't know what to do or how to help her.
About 6 months after we found out our results i was talking to someone at work about how they had recently adopted a toddler and that got me thinking that maybe we could adopt.
After work I rushed home so excited to tell Toni, but she wasn't there, she is always home when I finish work. I panicked and tried calling her but she didn't answer.
I sat waiting for her to come home for hours calling her every so often to see if she would answer but she didn't. By the time it hit 10pm I was so stressed, I didn't know what had happened to her.
I got a call at 10:30 from a number I didn't recognise and answered hoping and praying it was Toni or about her.
"Hello?" I answered.
"Babyyyyyy it's meeeeee," Toni replied back clearly drunk, I released the breath that I didn't realise I had been holding in, "Where are you?" I asked.
"The bar next to your work," she replied, I hung up and headed straight over there. As mad as I was that she didn't message me I was so relieved that she was okay. When I got there I couldn't see her so I went up to the bartender. Toni and I had been to the bar enough times that the bartenders know who we are. "Have you seen Toni Skye?" I asked her. She pointed to a corner and thats when I saw her sitting in the corner drinking water. I went up to her, "come on baby we're going home," she looked up and smiled at me and threw herself at me. "Look everyone my wife is here," Toni yelled, "Isn't she sexy!" She kept going.
"Let go baby," I whispered into her ear. I helped her up and to the door, I turned back to the bar "Thank you Skye," I called out, she looked up and smiled at me. I got Toni into the car and we headed home. By the time we made it home Toni was asleep. I picked her up and got her inside and into bed.
I took her shoes her before I fell into bed next to her and fell asleep, I was so exhausted.
TONI'S POV
I woke up and didn't recognise where I was at first. I finally worked out I was in bed, the last thing I remember was being at the bar having a good time dancing with one of my friends from work.
I look over and see Serena sleeping besides me and realise I needed to pee. Once I stood up that when I noticed the massive headache that I had.
Once I got back into bed that's when the tears started, and they wouldn't stop. I must of woke Serena up because she pulled me into her, it made the crying worse.
"What's wrong my darling?" She asked me once I had calmed down.
"Ever since I was a child all I ever wanted was a baby and to have a family and marry a beautiful woman but now I have everything except the baby," I cried into her. She rubbed my back and calmed me down again.
"It's okay baby, is that why you were at the bar?" She asked then kissed my forehead.
"Yeah," I looked up and stared at her, I thought she was going to be mad but she wasn't.
"You will have your dream baby, I came home after work to talk to you about something. Chloe at work is adopting a baby and I thought that was something we could talk about and decide if it was something we wanted to do," it was at that point I smiled knowing she really was the love of my life.
"I want to do it baby," I replied back without giving it a second thought. I kissed her rougher than I was meaning it to be.
Fast forward a year and we were waiting to get a call from the adoption agency to see if we get to be parents.
I was on my break at work when I got a call from the agency.
"Hello," I answered.
"Hi it's Lindsay from the adoption agency, I just called to let you know that you and your wife got accepted,"
"Thank you so much this means to the world to Serena and I. So what happens now?" I asked grinning from ear to ear.
"I will call you when we have a baby or a teenager for you and we will give you the option of whether you want to say yes or not," Lindsay replied.
"Thank you again I look forward to hearing from you," I said then she hung up. Once I finished work I ran to the store to grab a few things to celebrate.
Serena wasn't home and I knew she was at work so I set up what I had planned and started dinner.
"Baby I'm home," Serena called out closing the door.
"I'm in the lounge room honey," I replied, now getting nervous but I was so excited to tell her.
She walked around the corner and her face lit up.
"What is all this baby?" She asked coming up to me and kissing me.
"We did it baby. We got approved," I grinned. "Omg really?" I nodded. She hugged me and we jumped up and down so excited.
Fast forward 6 months and we had just finished preparing the spare room for the arrival of our daughter. Her birth mother gave her up after 3 months because she couldn't look after her anymore, so we were called and of course we said yes.
Fast forward to now and it's been a long few months but we wouldn't change anything. Our daughter was already named when she arrived at our house and ended up liking her name so we kept it.
"Baby," Serena shook me awake, Emma still in my arms, I didn't realise I was so tired. Serena held out her arms and I passed Emma over to her and she went and put her to bed, then we headed to bed.
Once we were in bed I cuddled into Serena kissing the back of her head,
"I love you so much baby," I said,
"I love you so much more," she replied.
