Healing The Ruthless Alpha * KADE Finished âI didnât think you would be such a weak alpha,â my father sneered at me. He sat across from me, right in my seat with a boule of my drink before him. âLeaving Silver Moon to you was a mistake.â
âWhat do you want this time?â 1 sighed, having zero interest in what he had to say. These days my father had started to nag worse than an old housewife. Everything I did was met with complaints as if running pack wasnât hard enough. I couldnât do anything without having him criticize me.
-When are you getting the girl back?â He swirled the content of his glass around. That was my drink he was playing with.
âWhat girl?â I pretended not to know what he was talking about. Weâd had this discussion too many times and I was honestly sick of it.
âAre you trying to play pretend right now?â He sneered âFelicity called, She has even more powers now. Donât you think this is something that can benefit our pack?â
âWhat do you want from me?â His nagging gave me a headache â no, I had a headache already but his nagging made it worse.
âI want you to contribute to this pack, Kade. Youâre the Alpha. Start acting like it,â he shouted making me wince. âAre you going to keep acting like a wretched wreck or will you m up and take charge of your pack?â
âWhat does she have to do with any of this?â I massaged my temple. âIf youâre going to keep nagging me like this-
*Sihana Asena was originally ours.â That name made my heart skip a beat. It had been months.
Why did I still react like this to the mere mention of a womanâs name? She was living her best life now beside a man, that wasnât me. I should have gotten over her by now but with every day that passed, rather than move on. I clung on tighter.
âPeople are talking shit about you now. Think. The only thing you can do for this pack to prove your worth is to get us a healer. A healer that was ours from the start,â he said in a tone that was an obvious attempt to annoy me.
âSheâs not a commodity. Donât talk about her like that. I grabbed the bottle in front of me but my father got to it before I did. He held on tight as I tried to take the bottle, his gaze on me.
âYou canât even wrestle with me for a bottle, Kade?â He taunted.
âIf I wrestled with youâ I let the bottle go. âIâd be losing a good bottle of liquor.â This was what he wanted to rile me up and make me lose my temper until I âshouted, destroyed something, then he would spread the news that I was unstable and unfit to be Alpha.
Iâd give my life for this pack, Iâd already given my mate because of these people but somehow, my father kept pushing the narrative that I wasnât fit to be the Alpha of this pack. What more could I do? What more needed to be done? Iâd done the best I could but to my father, it was not good enough.
âYouâre not worthy of being my successor,â he sneered at me. âI made a mistake leaving Silver Moon in your care. Youâre a disaster.â
Wed, Nov b Finished âUnfortunately, itâs too late for you to do anything.â I latighed without humour. âI am the Alpha of this pack and if you annoy me too much, Iâll kick you out.â
âAre you man enough to do that?â He always found the best ways to underestimate me but this time, I really did contemplate kicking my parents out of the park. All the times I ever mentioned it had been a joke but I considered it in earnest this time. There was no point keeping them here.
They added nothing to this pack outside annoying me and plotting treason âCahir Armani is just one man youâre too chicken to goup against.â My father started his long and usual tirade. âDo you realize how embarrassing this is for meâ
âItâs a good thing this isnât another you, isnât it?â I smiled at my father. âThis is about Silver Moon, not you. I wonât go up against Cahir Armani to case your pride. I know the battles I can handle and he isnât someone I can go up against.â
âHow can you call yourself a man? How can you call yourself an Alpha when another Alpha scares you this much? Sihana is yours but you let another man take her and you canât even fight to get her back!â He swept his hand across my table, sending things flying to the ground. I caught my liquor before it poured. My hands shook as 1 held the bottle. My eyes tinted a deep red and I groaned.
âWarren, youâre getting too comfortable with disrespecting me.â He laughed at my words, the sound loud, harsh and mocking.
âIf I disrespect you, Kade, itâs because you make it easy for me to. You canât assert your position as an Alpha so people will walk all over you as they please.â He refused to address me with a title and he was secretly plotting to throw me out as the Alpha but I pretended not to see his schemes.
Silver Moon used to be a great pack but we had a problem now. Thanks to my father, there were a group of people siphoning money from the pack into individual pockets. Asides my wolf still panting for another manâs woman, there was also the issue of stabilizing a pack riddled with corruption thanks to the man before me but my father wanted me to go to war with Alpha Blood pack to steal someoneâs mate.
All of the things he did, I did not have the time to check but I would soon. I would soon expose all the private pockets he siphoned money to and I didnât want him to know what I was working on. He would try to stop me then but for now, I wanted him to remain distracted.
L âYouâre not worthy of this seat.â He was sitting in the seat of the alpha, my seat, and telling me I wasnât worthy. âYouâre not the boy I raised with my hands, Kade.â
âI am a man now.â I took a gulp from the bottle of liquor. âYou canât expect me to continue working the way you want me to. I couldnât continue as your chess piece for longâ No, I had a duty to Silver Moon pack as her Alpha, and I had every intention of fulfilling my duties.
It was hard because my wolf was not cooperating, panting after Sia all the time and reminding me it was my fault he lost her. Everything was hard. I spent a lot of time drinking but I had to do right by my pack.
âYouâre not going to be here for long.â Father threatened me. âYou better find something tangible to add to this pack else the people will rise up against you. After all, you have proven yourself to be a weak Alpha.â
There would be an uprising in Silver Moon soon. I could feel it but I couldnât stop it. It was annoying but I had to wait. The problems in this pack were too many.
âMark my words,â my father hissed those words at me as he left the office with a red face after failing to rile me up. I wasnât drunk today so he didnât get a rise out of me as easily as he used to.
Finished My father just left the oflice when my phone rang, I picked it up eagerly when I found out Felicity was the caller.
âSheâs pregnant.â âThat was her opening line. âSheâs pregnant, Kade! We have to do something!â
ver asked Felicity to be my spy but I didnât object when she left. Flint was happy to have an eye on hist mate but now, I was sceptical. Felicity was working with my father and together, they may harm Sia.
If I called Alpha Cahir to warn him, wouldnât it put me and my pack in danger? Either way, I couldnât keep quiet knowing my Sia was in danger and my family had a hand in plotting against her.
