Silanaâs POV ë¡ 72ìµì
My ringing phone pulled me from the dream world. These days, I slept like a log throughout the night and sometimes into the afternoon. Most of the time, I woke up to Laura shaking me awake to eat breakfast. Sleeping was a welcome symptom after my loss of appetite and fire stunt.
âHello?â My voice came out thick and tired as I clutched the phone upside down.
âSihana,â a voice breathed from the other end of the phone. It was enough to wash away every lingering bit of sleep from my eye. âHow are you?? The voice shook to my amazement.
âWhat do you want from me?â I growled into the receiver, turning the phone the right way. âWhy are you calling me?â I demanded, irritation washing over me.
No matter how much time had passed, the effect of this voice was the same. Anger, hatred, and irritation washed over me at the same time.
âIâI justâ He stuttered and then he sighed, âIs it wrong to call you now?â He had the audacity to ask such a question.
Kade, I growled, pushing out of bed. He wasnât here, he couldnât see me, but staying in bed listening to that voice made me feel vulnerable..
He couldnât touch me anymore and we may have no reason to meet each other in this life but when I heard his voice, I felt the need to sit upright, and then to stand. I paced, feeling rigid as if I would have to defend myself any second from now. It was stupid madness, but the memories I tried to let go of flooded into me when I heard his voice.
âSihana,â he said then cleared his throat. âI have something to tell you.â He tried to sound businesslike but his tone was weak, sad even.
âI hope itâs nothing silly,â I quipped. A sigh came from the other end of the phone that made my heart beat faster. I wasnât in the mood to listen to any nonsense.
âDo you think I have time to waste, calling you to tell you something silly?â He tried to sound angry but his pain coloured his words.
âI donât care. How did you even get my number?â
Only about five people had my number and only Cahir and Aristo ever called but as I asked the question, I realized it was silly as Felicity also had the number. I hadnât given it to her willingly but Iâd found that Felicity and persistence were the same. She did not give up. She hounded me until I gave her my number and then she started sending me weirdâlooking images I think were supposed to make me laugh. I found. them annoying.
âThatâs not important. Listen, I need you to be careful, he said. My brows furrowed at the words spoken in haste âAre you threatening me?â My confusion sounded in my words.
âNo, I am warning you. The words sounded more like a threat than a warning. âThereâs a plot against you. I wanted to tell your mate but I donât have the full detals yet and that man â He trailed off with a sigh.

âWhatâs the plot and whoâs plotting?â My brain went into overdrive.
It was just months ago that people tried to ambush men my hotel room and Silver Moon was still the prime suspect. The culprits hadnât been found to date despire Alpha Bloodâs extensive network of investigators so they ruled it impossible for a pack like Silver Moon to be involved. But this If Kade knew something then it wasnât farfetched to think his pack was involved.
â
âIf I tell youâ Kade started and I heard the bargain before he mentioned it. âPromise your mate wouldnât harm my pack âAlpha Kade,â my voice was cold. âI am the reason your pack still exists. If anything happens to me, even if thereâs no evidence pointing to you, your pack will be the first suspect and you know what my mate is capable of.â It felt wrong throwing Cahirâs name out like this but the words were spilling from my mouth with a chilling tone that ver knew I was capable of. You better start talking before I fill in the blanks myself.â
âSihanaâ He sounded shocked but I didnât care.
âAlpha Kade, Iâm going to count till three before I hang up. One ââ
âItâs my father,â he blurted. âThatâs why Iâm telling you now. I â I donât want anything to happen to you but if Cahir finds out someone in my pack plans to hurt you, I know heâll use the opportunity to aim for my pack.â
âThat wasnât so hard to say, was it?â I was going to hang up the call and call my mate but he stopped me.
âThatâs not all,â he shouted when I pulled the phone away from my ear. âListen to me, Sia. Itâs not just him.â
âWho is it then? Felicity?â I knew that bitch had ulterior motives but she had a way of wearing down a personâs defense by constantly applying pressure and hounding them.
âYes, Felicity but my sister is in over her head. I think itâs my father and a few other Alphas that have a grudge against your mate.â
âI sec.â I saw red. Damn these bastards. When would my life be peaceful? Why did I have to jump from problem to problem!?
Thatâs Thatâs not the only thing.â Kade sounded down. âI know you wonât believe me but the greatest threat is going to be from Alpha Blood.â My eyes widened.
âWhat the fuck do you mean? What do you know?â I shouted, pacing my room.
âHey, hey, calm down,â Kade exclaimed. âGoddess, Sihana, youâre like a whole different person.
âOf course, I am,â I snapped. âI am no longer the runt of your pack. Now, tell me what I need to know!â
I know little,â he admitted.
âThen youâre wasting my time,â I hissed.
âN- No. Iâm just â Ah, I donât know whatâs happening in your pack because no one tells me anything these days but from the start, Felicity was supposed to enter Alpha Blood pack to find people to work with Silver Moon against Cahir. They donât tell me anything anymore because â well they seem to have found â

someone and they have something planned soon.â
âFind out more,â I told him. âWhat do you even mean they donât involve you when youâre the Alpha?â
â
âItâs Thereâs some trouble with the Alpha position. Iâm too busy to get into details with you but you have to be careful. Whatever protection you have now, tell your mate to double it and for my part in this, he better not touch Silver Moon.â He ended the call before I got a word in.
I called Cahir to tell him immediately but he didnât pick up. When I tried to leave the house to the office, Laura stopped me for breakfast. These days, I was under close watch and it was getting annoying. They didnât mean bad but at times like these, I didnât want people hounding me.
No matter what I said, they insisted I had to have breakfast for the baby so I did. It was a good argument to get me to cooperate â Iâd do anything for my baby so I sat and ate while dialling my mate.
In the end, two warriors escorted me to the pack office where I met chaos.
