Sihanaâs POV 7241
The Alpha Blood pack was in the news every day. People were talking bad about my mate and I could do nothing but daydream of punching reporters in their nasty faces.
I sat in front of the television that evening, munching on a snack while waiting for my mate to return home.
⦠Keep in mind that Alpha Dorian Greyson, the head of the Greyson family is also missing after an altercation with Alpha Calur Armani. Georgia, do you think these incidences are related?â The hookânosed reporter of The Wolves Channel asked the guest on the news that evening.
many âConsidering the recent purge happening in Alpha Blood pack, itâs more than likely that these incidences are connected, Michael,â The middleâaged woman named Georgia responded. âLetâs look at how people have been thrown into the cruel dungeons of the Alpha Blood pack for unjustified reasons and the known methods of Cahir Armani. Remember how this man took over the Alpha Blood pack in the first place-
They drew relations between the fight with Alpha Boston and this, highlighting how Cahir took down random people before others realized what he was doing.
He is a tyrant they said, a man who had reached the height of power but was still greedy for the wealth of his pack members. Someone whose pride would soon destroy.
âWhat are they saying today?â My popcorn almost flew out of my hands when a warm breath touched my skin.
âDonât scare me like that!â I exclaimed, clutching a fist against my chest. âYouâre home early today.â
My mate had to work later and later every day thanks to the influx of complaints he got concerning his recent actions. As he said, they would get uncomfortable and act faster than they planned if he made a move like this and he was right. From specific quarters, there was targeted backlash against him âI got tired of answering the same petitions so I left.â He shrugged, getting into the couch with me.
He pecked my lips and stretched. âWhat are they saying about me?â
âThe same old. Want some?â I extended the popcorn to him and he dug in âDark Moon controls The Wolves Channel. Itâs as if they want a bit of my attention these days.â His words would sound flippant to someone else but those that knew Cahir a bit knew he was never flippant.
âHow are things coming along?â I asked, distracting him from the second largest pack in the world.
Too many people would suffer if Alpha Blood and Dark Moon went at it.
âIâm giving them a few days before they crack. Dorian Greyson will contact his family tomorrow after a âsympathetic guardâ borrows him a cellphone.â It was scary how manipulative Cahir could be but I smiled his words. Did I enjoy all this? No, definitely not as much as he did.
These days, despite all the backlash he received, he wore an unfading smile all the time as he watched things unfold. It was like he was watching a little game and everything amused him.

planted spies around him, spies that they thought they had hidden well when in reality they were just people Cahir had let stay around him to grant their masters a false sense of power before he ripped the rugs from under their feet, those that smiled with him while sneering behind him and wishing and plotting evil against him were gnashing their teeth now More and more people came out to speak against him something that had not happened since he became the Alpha of the Alpha Blood pack. The twelve packs that Alpha Blood managed as subsidiaries had pretended to be loyal to him all these years but now, they were showing their true colours as their spies and mercenaries were in danger and their pride and safety were at stake.
âWhy tomorrow?â I asked Cahir, setting aside my empty bowl of popcorn.
âWhy not? Iâd like to see them panic more. When they receive the call, theyâd demand his release and when I donât comply, theyâll make a public appeal so when they attack, they are well justified and their good name wouldnât be tainted.â He chortled. He was enjoying this too much.
âIâm glad things are going according to plan,â I muttered dryly.
He didnât care what others thought or said about him but I did. I didnât like the way they slandered him as a tyrannical maniac who was doing the world a disservice by breathing. Heâd received backlash since he got his revenge against Alpha Boston but as of then, I didnât know him. Now, he was my mate and there. were people who didnât know what he looked like talking shit about him.
âAre you really fine with all this?â Even before I asked, knew the answer but it still surprised me that he was this chill at everything. He nodded, sighing with relish. âI donât like that theyâre talking bad about you,â I muttered with a downeast face. It felt silly pitying someone that didnât care but I couldnât help it.
Why d does it matter that nobodies say nonsense about me?â He went quiet, his smile falling from his face.
âItâsâIt is justâ1 stuttered. âI just hate it.â I pouted.
âOne thing you need to learn, belle, is that the opinions of others do not matter. I am Cahir Armani and no slander can overshadow my achievements.â My lips curled up at that effortless bragging.
âYouâre right.â I rested my head on his bicep and he hugged me close.
He was Cahir Armani and if any of these things disturbed him, he would deal with them. He had the power and the resources at his disposal to bring anyone to his feet for looking at him the wrong way. There was nothing for me to worry about. Save for his bloodlust.
It was another thing that worried me. All these plans would end in one thing â a battle. A bloody battle that would excite him. A battle that could potentially tip him over the edge of bloodlust. He may come out the winner in every fight, but the fight against bloodlust âIâm not s t succumbing to bloodlust,â he muttered. He hadnât developed mindâreading abilities but Iâd worried and nagged about his bloodlust so much that he knew when I was thinking about it â
âWhat if I started my usual tirade but stopped myself with a sigh. I held his hand tighter.
My powers were fluctuating now and my healing abilities were barely functional, but from mine and Felicityâs research, a healer had healed a feral wolf before so before my mate got to that stage, I would try to heal the fragments in his mind âIâm never letting you go, Cahir Armani,â I vowed.
âYou shouldnât, Sihana Armaniâ He pecked my cheek with an unusually soft smile. âYouâll have to leave tomorrow night, he whispered, a foreign emotion swirling in his eye, âI contacted the high priestess and she will be happy to have you until the end of this nonsense. My eyes doubled in size as I pulled away om him.
â What the hell are you saying!?â I exclaimed, jumping to a stand. âWeâre supposed to go to the high priestess together by the weekend for me to get a new necklace with more holy power!â My eyes stung as looked at him. Again, he gave me a soft sinile. That dath soft smile! I wanted to scream, I wanted to pull my hair as realization dawned on me.
âYou canât be caught amid this, he whispered, standing and pulling me to his chest. I tried to pull away, to push him away but he held me tighter.
âStop!â I screamed. âYouâre sending me away? Out of the blue!?â I shouted. He placed a finger on my lips and I fought the urge to bite it âYou knew this would happen,â he whispered. âYou are in danger by my side. You and our baby. For your safety, itâs best to stay on neutral grounds during this ordeal. Youâll leave tomorrow night.â
â
â
âYouâre Youâre âWords choked me. âBut in the temple how can I â I wouldnât even knowâ In the temple. I would be out of the loop with everything. I wouldnât know what was happening to my mate or my pack.
âWe have the mate bond to communicate, Sia. I promise to wrap it up as soon as possible so you can return home, but you know you canât stay by my side when thereâs an imminent attack.â
âCahir-â He shushed me.
âTomorrow night, Aristo and a few guards will take you to the temple. The guards will remain with you there. Iâd love to go with you but we have to move as discreetly as possible. I donât mind being attacked, belle, but if anything happens to you because of what I started ââ He trailed off.
âCahir-â I choked out again. âYouâre letting me go.â
âIâm sending you to a safe place. I promise you, Iâll be back to pick you up as soon as the last one of these bastards has been cut down.â He hugged me and I went lax against him. âYou know itâs too dangerous by my side, belle.â
âThen assign more guards. Take me with you everywhere!â I shouted into his chest but he did not change his mind.
The temple was neutral ground and no one would know I was there. Iâd be safe from attack but I would be away from him, hiding away while he faced danger from every angle.
âI hate you,â I sobbed into his chest. âHow could you do this to me? How long have you been planning to send me away like this?â I thought heâd change but Cahir, it seemed, would always keep secrets from me.
Even the staff of the Alpha Castle werenât allowed to know of my leave so Cahir packed a small suitcase with me. I didnât say a word to him as we packed. It was silly and petty but I was upset, scared and powerless. No good would come out of me staying in the war zone but I didnât want to be apart from my mate when he was in imminent danger.
The next night, while the castle slept, I was bundled into a car with Aristo and three other warriors, a car packed with five others following behind.
