My eyes fluttered open and I closed it back due to the intensity of the light. I opened my eyes again this time, more slowly than the first time until I was able to adjust to the brightness.
I looked around and saw that I was in an unfamiliar room, painted white. A drip was hanging and connected to my body. At first, I thought I was in a hospital ward, but I knew that wasnât the case because where I was looked more like a room than a ward.
âYouâre awake, âI heard a familiar voice and I turned my head to look at the person, but I didnât know who he. was: He had been in this room even before I woke up, which meant that he was the one who brought me here, but which pack are we now?
âWho are you?â I asked him and he frowned at me.
âI feel slightly offended by that question. Donât you remember me?â He asked, coming closer to me and I flinched. I tried to recall all that happened and soon the memories flooded into my head, causing a headache.
I stared at the man, observing him. His chiseled black hair and facial features didnât look like that of a kidnapper, so my mind settled into one thing alone,
You must be their boss, âI pointed out and he creased his brows, acting oblivious like he didnât know what I was talking about.â You canât fool me by trying to act innocent, you are their boss. Are you glad now, you have finally gotten me,â I snapped, my eyes getting teary.
Young lady, you need to calm down. I am not anyoneâs boss, I am John. I saved you from those men who were trying to attack you. You begged me to save you, remember?â He asked and I stared at him warily. I do know that I asked someone to save me, but I didnât know if he was truly the one or if I could trust him.
Why did you save me then? You donât know me and you saved a total stranger, putting your life at risk,â I asked and he shrugged.
âYou were someone who needed to be saved, I couldnât let you die by their hands when you probably did nothing to them,â he replied nonchalantly. He was acting so suspicious, I was beginning to get scared as I was alone in the room with him.

âYou stare at me like you donât believe what Iâm saying, âhe pointed out and I nodded in affirmation. There was no need for me to try to hide the truth, I was scared of him.
âI am in an unfamiliar room with a stranger, I believe every lady in my position will be just as scared as I am, â1 replied and he nodded.
Of course, it wonât be that easy to believe that, but I saved you, I shouldnât be painted as the bad person. If you want, I can take you to where the bad guys are currently,â he offered, but I instantly shook my head, rejecting his offer.
You are being too blunt for someone who should be scared. Those men are capable of doing hurtful things, I hope you were not in danger because of me?â I asked, concerned about filling my voice and he chuckled, making me wonder what was so funny.
âYou donât need to be worried about me, I can handle myself. And as for the men, I have taken care of them, so you donât need to be worried about them any more,â he assured and I stared warily at him.
So, youâre saying you are not their boss?â I asked and he nodded his head in affirmation.
I am not, I have arrested their boss already, so you donât need to be worried about that,â he replied, defending himself and I nodded, having no other option but to believe him.
âThank you then, for saving me, âI appreciated. There was no use of accusing him, as long as I was free, then I had no problems with anyone.
âItâs nothing, youâre the one I should be thanking. I was able to catch those men because of you, we have been searching for them for a very long time now,â he explained and I nodded, feeling glad that I was able to help in catching criminals.
Suddenly, the door opened and a doctor entered the room, bowing at the both of us.
âAlpha, the result is out,â she said, handing him a chart which he collected.
âAlpha?â I asked, my eyes widening slightly and he looked at me. For a moment, I saw a flash of smirk on his face, making me sneer at him. Asshole.
âYes, I am Alpha John of the Greenwood Pack, he introduced and I twitched my lips, not wanting to say anything more rude than I have before. So, I was saved by an Alpha?

âI didnât know who you were,

âItâs fine. You didnât know because I didnât tell you my identity,â he smiled softly at me and I refused the urge to sneer at him again.
Since he said it was fine, I decided not to bother myself about it anymore, it wasnât like I owed him any explanation in the first place.
When he saw that I wasnât saying anything anymore, he began reading the chart. He furrowed his brows while reading, before raising his head to look at me.
â
She is pregnant?â He asked, not taking his eyes off me and the doctor nodded in affirmation. I knew I was pregnant but it still sounded so new and strange in my ear when I heard him say that. But it had been confirmed, I was indeed pregnant.
âYes, Alpha,â the doctor responded. There was this look in his eyes that I couldnât decipher, but it made me feel like he wasnât happy with my pregnancy.
She is carrying a twin baby,â the doctor added and my eyes widened in surprise,
âEhn?!â I yelled in surprise.
