Chapter 10: CHAPTER 8 | "HOW?"

Clover Xiao walked out of the White Sawn hotel after a meeting when a pair of men caught her eyes.

She quickly instructed her assistant to bring the car. When her assistant was out of sight, she took off her shades and looked closely.

Her lips parted in surprise when she saw Noah Zhang in a causal clothing, holding several shopping bags, with the last person she expected–June Weng who was empty handed.

They stood by the bus stop opposite to the White Sawn hotel. June giggled at something Noah said. Clover couldn't tear her eyes away from the scene infront of her.

Her mouth hanged open in shocked when Noah looked around and quickly leaned and pecked June's lips, who turned red and slapped a smug looking Noah's arm.

Seeing her future fiancee with someone else and to top it all, the person was her ex boyfriend, felt like a hard punch in the gut. The grip on her hand bag tighten as she continued to watch the couple.

When June broke up with her, Clover had distracted herself with works. Cried herself to sleep some nights. Felt dead inside as she went about with her days. And as she looked at the couple before her she felt betrayed. How would June do this to her?

She watched the man she fell in love with since her teenage years with someone else. They had been together for almost six years and it had hardly been three months that they broke up and he started dating.

With a man.

Her fiancee.

Clover can't afford to jeopardize her marriage with Noah since it will help the Xiao company's branches to spread over sea.

Noah Zang was somebody she couldn't and shouldn't offend. But June was an easy target. A little bit of crying and emotional blackmail would do.

Her trance of thought broke, when her assistant bought the car infront of her, blocking the couple she was staring at.

Clover got inside the car and closed the door with a slam. As the car started moving she took out her phone.

Clover: June, let's meet for one last time.

June and Noah were on the couch with a blanket wrapped around them. It was evening and the sun was setting, June smiled to himself as he listened to Noah's deep breaths. Noah was resting his head on June's lap, sleeping peacefully.

June was still thinking about Clover's text and the favorability points which decreased drastically.

Did she saw us? He thought as he stroked Noah's soft hair.His phone vibrated. Clover had send him a text. She was asking him to meet at the park two blocks away from his apartment building.

June pursed his lips. He has been travelling through space and time for so long that he always felt paranoid whenever he met the female leads after he gets together with the male lead.

They either threaten him to stay away from the male lead, kidnap him, frame him for trying to take advantage of them, poison him or do something horrible. Eventually, some female leads become the antagonist of the story.

Well, June had to face her anyhow, plus he has his system's protection so he was quite safe. He slowly got up from the couch and pressed a kiss on Noah's temple before making his way to put on his shoe.

Just as June closed the apartment door behind him, the empty living room filled with the sound of a notification from Noah's phone.

Noah yawned as he reached for his phone on the coffee table and froze. June was no where to be seen.

"Babe?" He called but got no reply.

Frowning, Noah tapped open the message. He sighed loudly and pushed himself off the couch. He put on his shoe and walked out of the apartment.

June stood with an unreadable expression as he saw Clover sitting on a park bench. Her hesitate smile was not returned. She nervously tucked her hair behind her ear.

"Why did you called me?" June asked, when he got near her.

Clover stood up abruptly, surprising June. Before he could back away, she threw her arms around June.

"What–" he was about to push her off but she cut in.

"I missed you," she wisphered, hugging him tighter.

June pushed Clover's arms away, "What are you doing?" He hissed. He looked around trying to find Noah. Since the favorability rate decreased Noah must have seen them.

Clover looked into June's eyes no longer seeing the warmth they once held.

"Please, break your relationship with Noah. You know how important the marriage is for me and my family", she pleaded and clasped his hand tightly.

"Let's talk about this later," June said. He pulled away from Clover's hold and turned towards the opposite direction and walked away.

June craned his neck looking for Noah. He sighed in relief when he saw Noah's tall stature walking away.

June started to run towards Noah, "Noah!" He shouted.

Noah stopped and turned towards June, his gaze cold, "What?" He snapped.

"Babe, what's wrong?" June asked. He feigned Innocence as he looked at Noah with puppy like eyes. June always did this whenever he wanted Noah to do something. Noah would always let out a heavy sigh, kiss him and do what he was asked. He would never resist June's puppy dog eyes.

Just like June thought, Noah let out a sigh, "Don't babe me, I just saw you hugging your ex."

June looked at him, "How did you know we were going to meet here?"

Noah frowned, "Clover text me," he took out his phone and gave it to June.

"That's strange," June muttered, reading the text, which asked Noah to meet Clover in this park to discuss something about the wedding.

"She also text me to met her here," he took out his phone and showed it to Noah.

"Then why were you hugging her?", Noah asked, suddenly knowing the answer.

June shook his head, his hair moving to and fro, "She just jumped at me."

Noah suddenly smirked, "How?"

"Like this," June said as he threw himself at Noah, his hand holding on Noah's neck. Tip toeing, June brushed his lips against Noah's ear, "I missed you."

"That's what she said," June said. He faced Noah and frowned. Noah had his arms wrapped tightly around June's waist.

"Let me go," June said.

Noah grinned  mischievously as June realised he got tricked into hugging Noah.

Realising they were hugging in a public place, June immediately flushed red and tried to wiggle away from Noah but was unsuccessful.

He then remembered the decreased favorability points and glared at Noah,"You doubted me didn't you?" June accused.

Noah's smiled dropped. He immediately looked guilty, "I..."

"Leave me," June spat and this time he managed to escape out of Noah's hold and stormed away.

"Shit," Noah muttered as he followed June.

Noah followed June as he called out his name and asked him to stop but June didn't looked back and he kept walking away from Noah.

Once they reached June's apartment and the door closed behind Noah. He grabbed June's wrist and pulled him towards his chest. June tried to pull himself away but Noah cupped his face with his large hands.

"I am sorry," he wisphered huskily.

June pouted, "You actually thought, I was cheating on you."

Noah gave June an apologetic look, "I am sorry."

"You looking good right now is not helping," June sighed as he encircled his fingers around Noah's wrist, "Fine. It's okay. Just don't assume things all of a sudden, okay?"

Noah grinned, "I promise."

He leaned to kiss June.

Noah pushed his tongue inside June's mouth. Their kiss deepened by the second. As Noah's tongue teased June's mouth his hands flew to grip Noah's hair.

Noah's knee glazed June's lower member. June moaned against the kiss and pulled away.

Breathing heavily, Noah rested his forehead against June's. The heavy ragged breathing between them sounded sexier than it should.

Noah tugged on June's pants, making June look at him. Noah was smiling widely.

"Room?" Noah asked, the word sounded  low and husky and it made June swrimp.

However, Noah never waited for an answer as he picked June up like he weighed nothing.

Noah licked his lower lip as he squeezed June's ass earning a moan and carried him to the room.
