~Dinner Disaster~

"Hey guy's" I said entering the dorm
"Hey Layla ive already found the perfect dress for you" Connie said while doing Julie's hair
"Owkey"
"Hey i have an idea why don't we go matching tonight" Julie said
"Yes thats a great idea" Connie jumped in
"Sounds amazing" i answered
"Great i'll do your hair after why don't you get dressed already" Connie said
I got dressed and Connie did my hair. When we were all ready we went outside waiting for Guy and Fulton to pick us up.

"Well don't you ladies look good" Guy said rolling his window down "Especially you Connie"
"Alright you love birds can we go it's freezing out here" Julie said walking to the car
We all got in and drove to the restaurant. When we got there there was a man waiting at the door for us. I thanked him for opening the door.
"Damn this place is fancy" Fulton said looking around
"Ye the bill must be pricey" i said
"Luckily we don't have to pay for it" he said looking at me. I nodded still amased by the place.
We went to our table and I was sat next to Adam
"Hey Adam" i said sitting next to him
"Hey...you look gorgeous" he said staring at me
"Thank you, you don't look too bad yourself" i said smiling
"Thanks"
"I love this tradition" Averman said to a Varsity player next to him "At my old school, we didn't have traditions like this" he quickly drank his water while spilling some over his shirt. Me and Adam started laughing.
"Waiter, I've got too many forks. I only need one" Dwayne said while holding up four forks in confusion "I don't...y'all, I just...What's this little bitty one...What's this little bitty one" he said while looking at the tieniest fork ive ever seen.
"Hey you got to show me that triple deke, man. That's cool" Rick said to Charlie. There was something in his voice that made me tense up.
"Yeah, sure. You know it's easier than it looks" Charlie said to Riley
"Hey, are you alright" Adam said in my ear
"Yes just, this is so weird" i said playing with my food
"Hey, I pinky promised that everything is fine alright I wouldn't lie to you" he said looking into my eyes
"Ye it's fine" i smiled
"Hey Julie want this extra piece of prime rib?" Goldberg asked. To which Julie elbowed him in his ribs. I laughed at my best friend
"Look i'm just trying to help" he said. Julie rolled her eyes and started talking to Russ again. While i was listening to Julie and Goldberg. Scooter whispered something in Adam's ear. Weird.
"The food is amazing" i said to him
"ye" he said quickly. What the hell's wrong with him all of the sudden. Before I could ask him Rick tapped his glass while standing up.
"On behalf of Eden Hall Warrior Varsity State Champion Hockey team, I'd like to welcome the future state champs, the Eden Hall freshman" he said smirking
"Here, here" the ducks said
"We're just glad you loaned us Banksie so that we'd have a chance to beat you guy's in the annual Freshman-Varsity showdown" Rick said pointing at Adam. He didn't look up he just staired at his plate the whole time
"Are you alright" i whispered to him
"I'm fine" he said quickly. I could hear a little sadness in his voice.
"Now, nobody move. We've got one last surprise. Fellas?" Rick finished. Varsity started standing up including Adam.
"I'm so sorry" he quickly whispered in my ear before leaving the room. I turned around confused but he was already gone.
"Where are they going" asked Julie. All of this was so weird.
"Don't worry. We'll be right back" Rick said and closed the door. He was lying I could feel it.
"Guys, I don't want to spoil anything but I overheard something in the bathroom. It's a cake. Act surprised, alright?" Guy said. Everyone started smiling at the thought of a cake but i knew it was bullshit.
A few waiters came into the room rolling a massive cake to us but when we looked closly we saw in blue lettes 'Thanks for dinner losers'. Another waiter gave the check to Charlie and it was a bill of $857. I was pissed.
I looked at Julie and said "Too fast for saying I told you so"
No one could pay the bill it was way too expensive so we started cleaning the table, doing the dishes, cleaning the toilets and when it all was done we could finally go home.
Guy, Fulton and Connie dropped me and Julie of at the dorms and drove of.
"I'm sorry I didn't believe you Layla" Julie said
"Its fine" i said
When we turned the corner of our hallway. There was someone sleeping against our door. It was Adam. He woke up hearing us coming down the hall.
"Layla i can explane-"
"Save it Adam I don't need your excuses" i interrupted him. Julie had already entered the dorm.
"Look I didn't know alright. They didn't tell me until it was too late" he tried telling me
"I trusted you. You promised Adam. I thought you were different. I thought you just had bad luck for getting on Varsity but you're really turning into a jerk and not only to me but to the ducks. They trusted you Adam and you broke that trust." i told him
"I can't believe I was falling in love with you" i looked at him one last time and went into our dorm.
Me and Julie just brushed our teeth and fell asleep.
Adam's pov
Like every other day during lunch i was sat with Varsity. I looked at the table where the ducks sat. Just then Layla came in with Julie. Before she sat down she waved and smiled at me. I started smiling when i saw her.
All of the sudden Rick told everyone to come with him. We started walking to the duck's table.
"Check out the new jackets, guys" Averman pointed out.
Layla whispered something to Connie and a moment later she started giggling. I love that sound.
"Hey, congrats on the Blake game" Rick said leaning over Charlie's and Dwayne's chair. I just looked at the ground not making eye contact with anyone.
"Yeah right, we tied" Charlie said. I finally looked up and me and Layla locked eyes. I smiled at her and she smiled back.
"Hey, a point is a point. We're all warriors now. You guys proved your guts. You all set for dinner?" Rick said smirking.
"Dinner?" asked Russ also confiused
"Well, it's an Eden Hall tradition. Varsity got to treat the freshman to dinner. So, round up your posse and meet us at 18:00 the Minnesota Club, downtown. Anybody needs a ryde, we can take you" Rick told us "I mean you guy's do like steak and seafood, right?"
"Yea we do" Charlie aswered
"Look, I don't like you pukes, all right? But this is a tradition. At Eden Hall, I learned to care about tradition" Cole jumped in.
"Ow and before I forget" Rick said "You can come too Layla"
I asked him to do that.
"Sure" she said while glaring at him.
"Alright it's settled then" Rick said and started walking away with Varsity.
"It's Cool" I said before leaving.
"Oh, it's cool" mimicked Russ when we started walking away.
It was finally time for English. My last class of the day with Layla.
"Hey Layla" I said.
"Hi"
"Adam?" she asked turning to me
"Ye?"
"Can you promise me nothing is going to happen at dinner?" she asked sticking out her pinky
"I promise. It's just a dinner between Varsity and JV and you" I answered looking in her eyes and interlocking our pinkies.
"Ye about that why did he invite me? I'm not a hockey player"
"Well I asked him" I said
"Why"
"Because i wanted you to come. You're like the only person who likes to be around me at the moment so ye thats why" I said
She smiled at me and turned to the front when the teacher started talking. During the lesson she caught me staring at her here and there.
After English she said goodbye and walked away.
Skip forward to dinner
I was waiting for Layla to arrive because she would be sitting next to me. When she entered with Guy, Fulton, Connie and Julie she looked breathtaking. The beautiful blue dress hugged her curves perfectly.
"Hey Adam" she said sitting next to me
