~Presentation~

I was waiting for Adam in the library to practice our presentation. He was already ten minutes late when he finally came running through the doors. The librarian yelled at him for being too loud. He jumped up and started fast walking to me.
"You're late" i said to him when he sat down next to me.
"I'm sorry, I-"
"Save it, let's just start" i interrupted him.
"Right"
We practiced everything and I must say Adam knew everything. If he does this in front of the class we can get an easy A.
"Good job we should go we don't want to be late" i said
"Ye your right" he said picking his books up and we left together
"Layla" Adam said
"Yes?" i said turning around
"Uh...I know we're not on the right terms but you look pretty" he said
"Adam this is not going to make me forgive you" i said and left to class
A couple of minutes later Adam came in. We were third to go. I can't lie i was stressing. I'm not good at talking in front of the class. All those eyes on me scare me.
"Alright next up: Layla and Adam" our teacher said
"Hello everyone" Adam started "Today, we have the privilege of speaking about one of the most enchanting and influential figures in Greek mythology â the goddess Aphrodite. She is known as the embodiment of love, beauty, and desire, and her legacy has left an indelible mark on both ancient and modern cultures."
"Aphrodite is a goddess whose very name evokes powerful imagery of love and allure. In Greek mythology, she is often depicted as the most beautiful of the gods, a woman whose radiance and charm could captivate both gods and mortals alike." i said
"But Aphrodite is more than just the goddess of physical beauty; she represents the complex, multifaceted nature of love itself â a force that is both tender and passionate, gentle yet overwhelming." Adam said
"Her birth is as captivating as her persona. Aphrodite was born from the sea foam. From the foam arose Aphrodite, fully formed, rising from the waves like a divine symbol of both creation and transformation. This myth reflects her powerful connection to the natural world and the beauty that springs from it." i said
"Aphrodite is often shown as a radiant figure, surrounded by doves, sparrows, or roses â symbols of love and beauty. The rose, is a symbol closely tied to her â a flower that blooms with passion, yet often has thorns, reminding us that love, while beautiful, can also bring pain." Adam said
"Perhaps one of the most famous myths involving Aphrodite is the Judgment of Paris. In this story, Paris, a prince of Troy, is called upon to decide who is the fairest goddess among Hera, Athena, and Aphrodite. Each goddess offers him a gift, but it is Aphrodite who promises him the love of the most beautiful mortal woman, Helen of Sparta." i said
"Paris, swayed by Aphrodite's promise, chooses her as the fairest, setting in motion the events that would lead to the Trojan War. This myth underscores the profound power Aphrodite holds over desire â the way love, once ignited, can change the course of history itself." Adam said
"Thank you for listening" i finished
"Very well next up Cathy and Thomas" our teacher said. Me and Adam walked back to our seat.
"You did great" he said smiling at me
"So did you" i smiled back
After class i went to my locker to take out my books when I felt a tap on my shoulder.
"Adam what do want" i said getting kinda annoyed with him constantly bothering me.
"Do you want to go out with me?" he asked
"What?" i said
"I'll pay. I really have to tell you some stuff in private" he pledded
"Fine pick me up at 18:00" i said closing me locker and walking away.
I came into the dorm and Julie was sitting at her desk making her homework.
"Hey Jules, how are you feeling" i asked hugging her from behind
"I'm fine. Just sad you know" she said
"I need to tell you something" i said
"What?" she said turning around on her chair.
"Adam asked me out and I said yes" i said, worried about her reaction.
She started smiling.
"Julie are you okay" i asket getting concerned
"I'm calling Connie were going to help getting you ready" Julie said jumping up
"You don't know how long we were waiting for this moment" Julie said ticking Connie's number in our dorm phone
"Hey Connie guess what" Julie said and told Connie what I told her. I rolled my eyes and fell flat on my bed.
"Connie's coming over" Julie said smiling.
And just like she said, in not ten minutes. Connie was standing at our dour with Guy.
"Sorry he's here too couldn't get him of of me" Connie said coming in
"Hi" Guy said.
"Hey?" i said
"Alright, Julie get the curling iron and you come with me were going to look for an outfit." Connie said pointing at me
Julie did my hair and Connie chose my jewlerry.
"You guys know it's just a date right?" I asked them
"It's his first date" Connie said
"He's gonna remember this forever" Julie said
"I'm still mad at him you guys know that right?"
"Yes but you're definitely gonna forgive him trust me" Julie said
"But what if I don't" i asked
"Look at me and Connie, we turned out fine" Guy jumped in
"Yes but you guy's have been friends forever, we just met a month ago"
"But you guys immediately had a click" Connie said
"Which is a sign of love at first sight" Julie said
"I hope so" i said
It was close to 18:00 so I put on my yellow converse and sprayed my perfume. Just when the clock hit 18:00 we all heard a knock on the door.
"He's hear good luck" said Connie cuddling with Guy
"Alright" i said and opened the door. Adam was standing there with a bouquet full of lilies.
"You look...uh..." Adam stammered
"Beautiful?" Julie said
"Pretty?" Guy said
"Gorgeous?" Connie said
"What they said and Guy? What are you doing here?" Adam said confused
"Doesn't matter Banksie" Guy said
"Alright bye guys" i said and closed the door behind me.
"Ready to go" he said
"Definitely" i said
We walked to his car and he put the radio on. Layla started playing.
He started smiling.
"What's whrong" i asked
"Nothing just the song fits" he said smiling
"It does. Did you know my parents named me after that song?" i said
"Really that's so cool" Adam said
"I guess"
"No really. My parents didn't call me after a song. They just named me Adam after my grandpa"
"That's still cool i guess" i said
"Not cooler then you" he said
I don't know how but everything he says makes my heart beat faster. Like during our presentation it was like he was talking about me. Or I was just being delusional.
"Thank you" I quickly said
"You're welcome by the way you look stunning tonight" he said
"You look pretty handsome too" i answered
He smiled at me.
"Are you gonna tell me were your taking me?" I asked
"Ha no. It's a surprise" he said
"What? For all I know I could be getting kidnapped or killed. I'm to young to die"
"You're not gonna die. Your just gonna have to find out when we get there" he said smiling
"You're proud of yourself aren't you?" i asked
"Very much" he laughed. I rolled my eyes and sat back in my seat and looked out the window.
