Chapter 414 Fiona sensed that something was wrong and immediately informed Lennon.

The second man who got out of the car was much more skilled than the first one. Mariela was no match for him. After a brief struggle, she was overpowered, her hands and feet tied, and she was thrown into the vehicle.

“Why are you kidnapping me? Is it for money?” Mariela asked.

The man driving burst into laughter, as if he had just heard the funniest joke. “For money? Nikolas is not short on cash.”

“Nikolas?” Mariela caught the key information.

Mariela thought back to the moment on the street when she had nearly been shot in the head, and her face turned pale.“You are Nikolas Russo’s men?”

The man who was driving suddenly roared, “How dare you call our boss by his full name!”

From the back seat, Nikolas’s personal bodyguard and most trusted assistant, Makhi, spoke in a deep voice, “You know Nikolas?”

A hint of mockery flashed in Mariela’s eyes.“How could I not know him?”

She nearly lost her life because of him.”

Makhi was silent for a moment.

“Since you already know, I will be frank. Your man hurt our people, causing us significant losses, so we had no choice but to make a move on his woman, as a matter of reciprocity.”

“Who are you talking about?” Mariela sneered, “Are you referring to Lennon? You must be mistaken. We broke up long ago. If you are trying to take revenge on his woman, you have the wrong person. I have nothing to do with him anymore.”

Makhi chuckled coldly, “Who else but you?”

“Are you blind? Have you not seen the tabloids? He’s always out with that actress. Why are you coming after me?”

After a moment, Makhi spoke with a cold tone, “Don’t you know why Lennon broke up with you? He did it to protect you.”

Mariela scoffed, “You really overestimate me. He’s already made a high–profile public announcement with an actress, and you’re still catching me?”

Makhi smirked, “Ms. Logan, are you really unaware, or are you pretending? That actress is his cousin.”

Mariela froze, her eyes widening in disbelief.“What did you say?”

“Hah.” Makhi sneered, “Ms. Logan, I don’t know whether to praise your acting skills or to commend Lennon for shielding you so well.”

Confusion filled Mariela’s face.“What do you mean?”

Makhi was Nikolas’s personal bodyguard, and usually, he rarely left Nikolas to go out on missions.
