Upon hearing that Angelica had returned safely, Rayne finally showed a long–missing smile. “God bless her.”

Royce’s brows relaxed as he asked, “What did the Logan family say?”

Lennon’s expression remained unchanged, his tone calm.“They didn’t say much.”

Rayne was taken aback. “I’ll visit the Logan family tomorrow to see Angel. I’ll also buy some decent gifts to apologize to Deandre and Haleigh. After all, Angel was kidnapped because of our family.”

Bella snorted coldly upon hearing this, her lips curling in dissatisfaction. “No need. Didn’t that girl return just fine? Nothing happened. Why lower yourself like that? Rayne, you’re the lady of the Stark family. Your status is there. You must know that your every word and action represent the Stark family. Don’t do things that degrade your status.”

Rayne frowned.“Mom, how is this degrading? After something like this, if we don’t show concern, that would be improper.”

Lennon said, “Grandma, this kidnapping has caused severe psychological trauma to Angel. Her mental state is very poor now.”

The implication was that Angelica didn’t exactly return “just fine,” and the Stark family had to take responsibility for this.

Rayne frowned, looking at Bella and then at Lennon, seeming to want to say something but hesitating Lennon remained indifferent, as if he hadn’t heard Bella’s sarcasm, and turned to Rayne. “If you want to visit Angel, you should inform Deandre or Haleigh in advance and ask for their opinion. Angelica is currently receiving psychological treatment at home and may not be able to see guests.”

Rayne nodded.“Alright.”

Seeing that she was being ignored, Bella’s face darkened.“Lenny, are you opposing your grandmother?”

Lennon’s thin lips parted slightly.“How could I? You, as an elder, are unwilling to visit the Logan family due to your status. That’s your business. I can’t control you, can I?”

“Do you not understand, or are you pretending not to? I forbid you to go to the Logan family.” Bella then turned to her daughter–

in–law, Rayne.“You’re not allowed to go either!”

“Mom...” Rayne looked troubled.

“Lenny, don’t argue with Grandma,” Lauryn said softly.

Lennon didn’t even glance at Lauryn, standing up and saying, “I have things to do. I’ll take my leave.”
