Chapter 599 SE Mariela spoke plainly, “Don’t worry, Mr. Stark. I’ve been reviewing the cases your staff provided. I’ve gone through the evidence twice”

The table was small, and with Lennon joining, five people made it crowded.

Jaida stood aside, smiling, “Lenny, it’s after work. Let’s talk about work another day. Why don’t we sit over there? Marie has a date, so let’s not disturb her.”

Lennon’s eyes cooled. He looked at Mariela with a half–smile.“A date?”

Mariela frowned slightly. “It’s just a meal.”

Her explanation softened Lennon’s gaze a bit.

Lennon still felt jealous.

Bryce had asked Mariela out for a meal without him knowing.

Glancing at Angelica and Annika across the table, Lennon understood. Bryce had used the excuse of the two children wanting to meet as a pretext to invite Mariela out.

“Come on, Marie, I know you’re shy.” Jaida tried to pull Lennon’s sleeve.“Lenny, let’s go.”

Lennon sidestepped Jaida, avoiding her touch.

He said coldly, “Ms. Logan, since you and Mr. Vance aren’t on a date, I assume you wouldn’t mind if we joined you, right? After all, we’re all friends, and it’s been a while since I last saw you. This could be a great opportunity to chat about our company’s cases.”

Jaida’s expression stiffened.

Bryce chuckled, “Mr. Stark, it might not be convenient. We have the kids with us today.”

Lennon looked at Angelica across the table and smiled gently, “Angel, do you mind if I sit here and eat with you?”

Angelica recognized Lennon, and she had always had a good impression of him. He had been kind to her, buying her toys, so of course she didn’t mind sitting with him.

Angelica replied brightly, “I don’t mind.”

Lennon smiled and turned to Bryce, “Angel doesn’t mind. Mr. Vance, if you’re not comfortable with this, you can say so directly.”

Bryce met Lennon’s gaze calmly. “Mr. Stark, but you came here on a date with Ms. Moore today, didn’t you? If you sit with us, what about Ms. Moore?”

Lennon’s expression remained unchanged as he addressed Jaida, “Sorry, something came up. You can go back first. We’ll discuss the project another day.”
