Her feelings were mixed.

Why did Lennon choose her so firmly? Why did he believe her without question?

She expected Lennon to pick Lauryn easily over her.

Outside the hospital, in the open parking lot Lennon walked beside Mariela, his eyes showing regret “Marie, I’m sorry.”

Mariela koked at him.“Why are you apologizing?”

“It’s our family’s fault for not raising Lauryn well, Lennon sighed. “I don’t understand why she slandered you. I’ll investigate this Mariela chuckled softly, “No need. I know why.”
