23. Give Back The Jewelry
All heads turned, and there were gasps from the paparazzi as well as some other guests who had just arrived.
A lady alighted from a Limo, guided by a chauffeur. Her dark wavy hair rested on one shoulder, the diamond earring reflecting the light.
The light makeup, complimenting her cherry-kissed lips, drew eyes to her perfectly proportioned features.
The red sparkly dress was a few inches above her knees, highlighting her curves and her fair supple skin. With her chin lifted, her eyes accessed the crowd lazily, and a chilling gaze shot towards the couple.
Lucasâs throat went dry and his hold loosened on Tracy.
On the manâs face was a shocked look which he didnât hide.
âOuch! My eyes!â Zach came running over, almost tripping. He stopped in front of Heidi, drawing her into his arms. âNow I know my taste is too great, almost scary. You just blew me off my feet, Goddess.â
Lucaâs eyes dimmed, a chilling air traveling all the way from the Atlantics and engulfing the whole Villa.
Even Tracy shuddered from the dangerous aura coming from the man and she instinctively took a few steps back.
Her heart ached incredulously as her gaze went to Heidi. In a surprised tone, she said, âOh, Heidiâs here too. Zach Olsen seems to be serious about Heidi. Who knows, he might decide to marry her. Not every lady is always lucky to get married instantly after a divorce.â
âEh? She is divorced?â One of the paparazzi who overheard Tracy said.
âMr. Olsen sure does have a peculiar taste,â Another one said.
âYoung Lady, would you mind sharing? Which family are you from? What level of the socialitesâ circle?â
The paparazzi surrounded Heidi.
âMr. Olsen seems to be so fond of you. Ahem, Mr. Olsenâs women are always unique, you are different though, arenât you divorced?â
âDo you have kids, Young Lady?â
âIs Mr. Olsen about to become a stepdad in case your relationship doesnât end in the next few days?â
Tracy had managed to incite the paparazzi and also the onlookers who stared curiously.
She didnât mind giving Heidi the spotlight as long as it would ruin her. Wasnât Heidi playing with fire by appearing in a place filled with the bigwigs of the society?
She was just a lowly girl with a poor background.
As the reporters threw the questions at her, Heidi didnât feel entitled to answer them.
Hell! She wasnât even here for the party.
So she turned deaf ears to their questions and strode forward, stopping in front of Lucas.
âMr. Harrison, how impressive. Was a simple Jewelry enough to have you chasing after my life?â Heidi sneered, her eyes throwing daggers at him.
Lucas was taken aback. âWhat nonsense are you talking about?â
Heidi chuckled at his words. âYouâre even denying it, great. Are you afraid that Grandpa Winston will discover your shady side? You are petty enough to send men after me all in the name of pleasing your mistress. You want the jewelry for her, right?â
Even Tracy was surprised and her heart began thumping with fear.
âH-Heidi, what are you talking about?â She said softly, her eyes welling up. âWonât you just leave Lucas and me alone? Are we wrong by falling in love? Donât we know each other before you tricked Grandpa Winston into making him marry you?â
âAh! What is going on? Does this young lady have a connection with Mr. Harrison?â
âFrom Ms. Carlsonâs words, she seems to be the rumored wife.â
âWait, Mr. Harrison has divorced her already? Is she here to make a scene?â
The paparazzi gathered around, and Heidiâs lips twitched.
Tracy was playing a psychological game with the paparazzi. Her acting sure was commendable.
âWhatâs going on, Princess?â Zach appeared, his eyes serious. âDid the dude offend you again?â
âZach, you should tighten up your privacy. People are beginning to use your voice for voice cloning. Who knows, someone might use your voice to commit murder someday.â Heidi glared at Lucas as she said that.
Lucas wondered where that hatred was coming from.
He felt like a fool coming here, and he glared at Zach. âMr. Olsen, you invited me for this?â
âSo what? What did you do to Heidi?â
Seeing the men about to break into a fight, Tracy looked conflicted.
âMr. Olsen.â She stepped forward. â Heidi accuses Lucas of something he didnât do. Just now, you invited us to come to the party, isnât it to reconcile? Heidi just arrived and she wants to draw another wedge between us.â
âWho are you? Who invited you into this talk?â
âYou-â Tracyâs eyes reddened. Her eyes darted around the onlookers and she bit her lips.
âYou have no right to speak to her that way,â Lucas grumbled.
âHaha! Arenât you shameless!?â Zach was ready to shred the couple to pieces but Heidi stopped him.
âLeave me with them.â She stepped forward until she was standing in the same proximity as Lucas.
Lifting her chin, she met his glare and extended her hand. âMr. Harrison, give back the jewelry you stole from me.â
