28. Firing The Bully Employees
At StriveStyle Co.
Isla walked into Heidiâs office with some reports in her hands, her face cascaded with a gloom which she tried to conceal under a stiff smile.
âWhatâs wrong?â Heidi looked up.
âIt is regarding the hiring of new models, Ms. Olsen. No agency wants to work with us.â
âReally?â Heidiâs brows furrowed slightly.
Isla nodded, placing the reports in front of her. âMs. Olsen, StriveStyle Co. Is in a hot spot due to the scandal going around between the GK Group and AG Group.â
âClearly, those agencies are afraid to offend a powerful company like GK Group. Seeing that AG Group is less intimidating, theyâre taking sides already.â
âDamn you! Lucas Harrison,â Heidi pinched her nose bridge, cursing inside her mind.
âWell, if they donât want to hire models for us, itâs fine. We can reach out to those models ourselves, right?â
âMs. Olsen, about that.â Isla sighed. âA small subsidiary like us isnât capable of doing that. Weâll have to set up an Agency, then hire staff who know the ins and outs of the entertainment industry and have keen eyes for picking out suitable models.â
âWe can set that up in the future.â Heidi picked up the report and went through it. âAt this critical moment, StriveStyle Co. needs to work with outstanding models to keep the brandâs legacy.
âLetting the brand stay dormant is more disadvantageous than working with fake models.â
âGot it, Ms. Olsen.â Isla brought out her tablet and scribbled some notes on it..
âAbout the meeting with the Finance Departmentâs Manager. Didnât you relay my message?â
âI did, Ms. Olsen. Unfortunately, I havenât gotten any response from him yet.â
Heidi frowned, finding it strange.
âI have also sent him a reminder email this morning.â
âMm. You may leave.â
After dismissing Isla, Heidi pondered for a while.
Then she resumed what she was doing, going through some reports and signing some documents.
The work hours were almost over when she finally left the office and headed towards the Finance Department.
On getting there, Heidi only met three employees. âWhere are the rest?â
âMs. Olsen, theyâre not here.â One of the female employees hurried forward and explained, âA majority of them have stopped coming since StriveStyle Co. started falling.â
Heidi was already aware of that, but she didnât expect the Finance Department to be so scarce.
âWhere is the Manager?â She looked towards the office whose door was shut. âYouâre his assistant, right?â
âUhm, yes. Ms. Olsen, about the Manager.â The lady broke into a cold sweat. âH-He just left, didnât you meet him on your way here?â
Obviously, the lady was hiding something from her. Heidi arched a brow, her lips curling slightly. âOf course, I just met him on the way.â
âHuh?â The young lady blinked.
Heidi chuckled, stepping forward to stand in front of her. âTell me where the Manager is. You donât want to be labeled as a liar, right? I donât need to tell you the consequences.â
âMs. Olsen,â She stammered, her expression pale. âI- I, he hasnât been picking up my calls, then suddenly, the phone calls stopped connecting. I really donât know where he is, itâs been a week and he hasnât shown up.â
Was it a coincidence that Heidi started coming just a week ago?
âKeep calling him. Once you reach him, let me know.â
Heidi left the Finance Department, feeling more devastated than ever.
With this amount of chaos, not only the major employees, even the minor employees were contributing to the brandâs downfall.
âHa! Isnât she shameless. I saw it with my own eyes because I was at the party after squeezing in through a friendâs friend.â
âAh! So that means sheâs the bone of contention. How can someone be so shameless to cause chaos between those powerful men?â
âMr. Zach Olsen is only blinded by her beauty. Itâs shocking that a man like him would chase after a divorced woman.â
The three ladies gossiped so loudly as they headed towards the elevator. Heidi who was closely walking behind couldnât take it anymore, so she cleared her throat.
âHow fortunate, youâre not part of the corrupt employees who laundered money or engaged in illegal collaborations. Sadly, you lack the proper employee etiquette, badmouthing others.â
The three ladies all turned around, and Heidi recognized them as the same ladies inside the elevator that day.
But instead of looking shocked this time, they put on smug smiles.
âThereâs news everywhere that youâre Zach Olsenâs woman, it is no longer a speculation. As a divorcee, isnât it considered a shameless act?â
âMr. Harrison is an outstanding bachelor with a great reputation. Itâs a surprise that his ex-wife turned out to be someone like you.â
âZach Olsen is young and picks his women meticulously. What witchcraft did you use to seduce him?â
Kelly, Raine, and Becca.
Heidi had collected information about them. Although they didnât engage in any illegal activities, their charactersâ mission was bullying other employees.
âI told you Iâm not a saint.â Heidi shook her head, laughing softly. âSince you refused to listen to my warning, you may kindly leave.â
âWait, what?â
âYouâre fired.â Heidi shrugged.
