MALIA POV
Today Josh is hosting a Christmas party. I just know it's gonna be lit. Today is also the 6 month anniversary of my mom's death. I've been so distracted I have t even realized it's been this long.
"Hey Malia how you doin" Kylie said walking to me with a little limp.
"I'm hanging in there" I chuckled.
"What's so funny" Kylie questioned
"Nothing I just want to get this day over with" I say getting up to shower.
"Are you ready for another day of tryouts"
"Yea I was really nervous at first but I kind of warmed up"I say walking into the bathroom.
"Thats good and hurry up in the shower" Kylie says as I close the door. I take a 30 minute shower, brush my teeth and do skin care.
After I was done with the bathroom Kylie went in. I got dressed for tryouts and is waiting on Kylie to get dressed. While I was waiting I found myself scrolling through pictures of me and my mom.
"Mom if you can hear me I just want to say I miss you" as I said that a tear escaped from my eye. I open my locket and kiss the picture of my mom. Just then I hear the bedroom door open. I quickly wipe my tears and turn off my phone.
"Ok I'm ready now" Kylie says walking out and grabbing water.
"Ok let's go" I say as I also grab water, put on my shoes and grab my keys.
I drive to the gym and we get out and make our way inside. We change into our shorts and put on our basketball shoes. We stretch then shoot around until everyone gets here.
Practice went smoothly. We ran 17s did some shooting and defense drills. It was pretty chill besides running 17s. This practice helped me take my mind off of the death. We are now heading back to the dorm to get ready for this party.
We get back to the dorm and Kylie is the first to shower. I took out the outfit I'm going to wear. And laid it on the bed. I laid down and scrolled through insta and waited for Kylie.
About 40 minutes later she comes out the bathroom.
"Finally, took you long enough" i say getting up and going into the bathroom. I take a nice hot steaming shower. Then I get ready for the party.
CALM LUH FITTTT
We decided to pre game at Joshua's dorm. His brother will be our designated driver. The party is at Joshua's home since his mom is out of town. Me and Kylie are now walking over to his dorm since it's real close by.
We reach the dorm and I knock about 3 times before anyone even opened the door.
"Heyy guys come in" Ruby says as she opens the door. Once we're inside she pulls us into a hug.
"We were just about to start let's goo" Ruby says leading the way.
"Hey guys" Josh says pouring shots.
"Hey" we both say.
"Ok everyone take a shot" Josh says. We all take the shot. This group contained me, Kylie, Dara, Peder, Ruby, Josh, and one of peder's friend.
"To us, CHEERS" Joshua says as we all lift our shot.
"CHEERS" we all say before we down the shot. I made a face cause this shi tastes nasty. We all take a couple more shots before we head out. I'm starting to feel it kick as we're driving to his house.
"You ok baby" I ask Kylie resting my hand on here thigh.
"Yea I'm ok, are you ok" Kylie asks making intense eye contact. I fold first and look away before mumbling a yes.
I hear Kylie laugh. "Yea keep laughing just wait til tonight" I say whispering the last part in her ear. I watched as her face turned bright red. I laugh to myself at the sight.
"Ok party people we are here" Joshua calls out.
We hop out and walk inside. After a minute people start showing up. The table is full of liquor and the music is booming. There was a game of cup pong, cup flip game and chugging game.
Me and Kylie were dominating in cup pong. We have won 3 games so far. I am pretty drunk but it's nothing I can't handle. I look over at Kylie and she also it pretty drunk.
"I'm going to the bathroom" Kylie says loudly towards my ear.
"Ok baby I'm coming with" I say as we stand up and walk towards the bathroom. There was a massive line it was like a 20 minute wait. Once the last person infront of us left the bathroom Kylie bolted in there.
As she was taking care of business my phone buzzed. I looked at my phone and my heart dropped as I read what it said.
"I know who killed your mom" the text said. It must be my old bullies. I ignored the text and waited for Kylie to finish. Once she finished she dragged me to the dance floor to dance. Kylie started dancing and I was right behind her dancing too.
My phone had buzzed again. This was starting to annoy me. I opened my phone and read the text.
"I have the security footage, I know who killed your mom that day" the text said. My phone dinged again and my heart started beating.
"The person who did it is closer to you than you think" the text said. This had to be a joke. I'm sure Kylie sensed something was wrong but before she can ask my phone dinged yet again. But it wasn't the creepy number it was coach.
"No wayyyyy let's gooo" I said feeling relieved and happy.
"What happened" Kylie asked.
"I MADE THE TEAMM" I said jumping up and down.
Kylie checked her email. "AHH ME TOO" we both were jumping like idiots. Though this was good news the words the stalker had said stuck with me.
