Winnie halted subconsciously and started to back away from the bathroom.
As Josiahâs voice rang out from the other end of the line, the sound of rushing water stopped.
As it turned out, Xavier had already dialed Josiahâs number before entering the bathroom. It was just th at the call was only picked up then.
Because the phone was in speaker mode, Josiahâs voice sounded loud. âWhatâs the matter, Xavier? W hy are you calling me at such an hour? Donât you need to accompany Winnie?â
Xavierâs tone was filled with impatience when he said, âI need you here right now. Iâve been drugged.â
Stunned, Josiah spluttered, âWâ
What? Drugged? What have you been drugged with? Was it some kind of aphrodisiac?â
Xavier couldnât be bothered to explain the whole story to him, so he said, âYes! So come over right this i nstant!â
âAll right, all right! Iâll be there right away! If you really canât hold it in, dunk yourself in cold water to calm yourself. Wait for me!â
The call was hung up after that. Soon after, the sound of rushing water sounded again.
Winnie knew at once that Xavier was preparing a cold bath.
But the weatherâs so cold now! Not to mention his bodyâs burning... Wonât the extreme change in tempe rature damage his body? Is Josiah a quack doctor or something? Besides, thereâs a more direct and ea sier way to solve this...
At that thought, a smile tugged on Winnieâs lips, and she stepped into the bathroom once more.
This time around, she pulled the glass door open and walked in without hesitation.
Upon seeing Winnie, Xavier stiffened. âWhat are you doing coming in here? Get out.â
Winnie widened her eyes to stare at him, her face full of innocence. âHandsome, why are you wearing
pants while taking a bath? And why isnât there any steam coming from the water?â
Xavier did not expect that she would barge in like that after all the effort it took for him to refrain from touching her. He growled, âGet out now. Didnât anyone teach you not to come in
when people are taking a bath?â
Winnie shook her head. âNope. There were a lot of people too when Granny and I were taking a bath in the bathhouse. Granny even helped rub my back. Handsome, do you need me to help rub your back?â
As she spoke, she approached him.
âOh, my God! The waterâs ice cold! Youâre going to get sick if you take a bath in that. Why donât I put in some hot water for you?â
Winnie put on a clumsy act, taking down the shower head and spraying Xavier with water.
The warm water felt nice when it came into contact with Xavierâs body. However, it also reignited the fir e within him.
His body stiffened yet again, and his rippling muscles were so beautiful that Winnieâs eyes lit up.
Oh my. I would very much like to put my hands on that eightâpack of his!
She uttered, âHandsome, Iâll help rub your back.â
The moment she touched his shoulder, Xavier felt the selfâ
restraint he had been so proud of crumbling instantly.
He gritted his teeth and grabbed her wrist before choking out, âDumbo, I donât need you to rub my back ! Iâm just feeling unwell right now. Do you understand?â
âWhere are you feeling unwell? Let me help you.â |
Xavier raised his brow. âYou want to help me? Will you still be so eager to help if I told you that Iâm goin g to devour you tonight?â |
Winnie cocked her head, looking curious. âHow are you going to devour me? Are you going to nibble on my lips again like what you did earlier in the room?â
As she spoke, Xavier leaned in and captured her lips with his.
His heart was pounding erratically, and he was on the verge of letting his desire run free. âAre you reall y not scared?â
âNope. Iâm a brave girl. I wonât be scared even if there was a monster in front of me. If Handsome is sca red, Iâll protect you.â Upon saying that, Winnie scoffed inwardly. Whoâs to say heâs going to be the one d evouring me tonight? It just might be the other way around...
At the moment, Xavier was a hairbreadth away from losing himself. Every fiber of his being was scream ing at him to pull the woman before him into his embrace. âThen, do you know where the monster is at
now?â
Winnie shook her head, but her gaze fell on his trousers for a moment.
Heâs... definitely in the mood.
She then said, âNo. Whereâs the monster? Tell me, and Iâll help you tame it!â
Her words were the spark needed to ignite Xavierâs desire. Feeling his blood boiling, he stepped out of the cold bath and pinned
Winnie against the wall.
âDumbo, since you said so, youâll be the one to tame it, then!â
When Josiah finally arrived after rushing all the way, Xavier was almost done with his promise of devouring Winnie whole.
The racy scene was too much for Josiah to handle.
Xavier and Winnie did not expect Josiah to come over so quickly.
Even Josiah himself was shocked by his timely visit. He could only blame it on his luck of being nearby
the mansion that day.
After receiving a shot, Xavier was finally able to calm himself. However, his mind kept replaying the scen The torn clothes, scratch marks, hickeys, and how Winnie used all her might to resist, but to no availâ¦
The tears that were streaming down her face as he entered her for the first timeâ¦
The sweet nothings that he whispered to her after the deed was doneâ¦
Every one of those scenes kept flashing through Xavierâs mind, replaying again and again. He held his head and fell into a daze.
Seeing his friend in such a state, Josiah tapped lightly on Xavierâs shoulder. âXavier, are you okay?â
âHow is she?â were the first words that came out of Xavierâs mouth.
âSheâs asleep. Sheâs a delicate woman, so the bruises look bad, but theyâll go away after a few days. That being said, didnât I tell you that Iâll be coming over right away and that you need to âThatâs enough. Iâm well aware that this is my fault. Anyway, I have a question to ask you.â
âWhat is it?â
âTo be honest, this isnât the first time I lusted over her. We all know that she has the mind of a five or sixâ
yearâold child, so does this mean that somethingâs wrong with me?â
âWellâ¦â Josiah mulled over his question. âIf Iâm being frank, if it was another person in your shoes, I wou Xavier replied, âDo you think I need to go and see a therapist?â
âThatâs not a bad idea, but I have another suggestion thatâs better than seeing a therapist.â
âWhat is it?â
âYou could go and look for a normal woman.â
âNo thanks. Iâm not interested.â
âCome on, donât be so quick to shoot my idea down. Do you remember the time when everyone thought felt something for her, didnât you? Besides, have you forgotten why you chose Ms. Winnie as your bride?
Xavier frowned. Yulissa, huh? Indeed, she was the only woman I had ever been attracted to. Even now, when I
