The man in the portrait had a tall and straight physique with long, ink-black hair. Even though it was just a painting, it exuded a sense of intimidation.
However, the painting only showed a silhouette of his back.
But even this silhouette shocked Ethan Smith!
Because he was very familiar with this man, this sudden familiarity made Ethan Smith almost tremble!
He lifted his gaze, looking sharply at Tyler Wright, and asked, âIs there only a silhouette?â
âYes, itâs already quite rare to have even just a silhouette,â Tyler Wright replied nonchalantly.
Ethan Smithâs face was a myriad of complex emotions, full of shock that confused Tyler Wright.@@novelbin@@
âWhatâs wrong?â Tyler Wright asked with curiosity.
Ethan Smith shook his head, trying to calm his feelings, âIâm alright.â
Tyler Wright nodded and said tentatively, âIf you have the opportunity, you can see it in person at my home.â
âAlright.â Ethan responded hastily.
Looking somewhat lost, he made his way back to his seat on the couch. Emmett Middleton handed him a bottle of wine which Ethan ignored.
Ethan Smith was completely shocked.
The reason was simple, the portrait of the Guardian looked too much like his own father, it was almost identical!
âCould it beâ¦.is the Guardian my father?â Ethan Smith muttered to himself.
If this were true, Ethan Smith wouldnât know whether to feel happy or sad.
He would be happy because his father was alive, but sad because he never came to visit him.
âToday is truly lively, even the heavy snowfall canât cool everyoneâs enthusiasm,â Blaise Rhodes said, making small talk with Ethan Smith.
Ethan merely nodded in response, casually replying, âIndeed.â
Blaise continued, âEthan, my father wishes to meet you. Is it okay with you?â
âYour father? You mean the famous Harold Rhodes?â Ethan was taken aback.
âYes. I donât know why, but my father mentioned it,â Blaise replied, nodding slightly.
Ethan fell silent.
He realized that if he was to formally declare war with the Capital City Martial Arts Association, heâd need the support of these people.
After some thought, Ethan agreed, âAlright, but itâll have to be after some time.â
âThatâs fine, you can decide on the time,â Blaise waved his hand dismissively.
âAlright.â Ethan nodded in agreement.
At that moment, Blaise couldnât help but huff, âLook, the Four Young Dandies of the Capital City are here.â
Looking up, one could see four handsomely dressed young men walking in.
âWhat are these Four Young Dandies of the Capital City?â Ethan asked in confusion.
âTheyâre just some well-known Second-generation Rich in the Capital City who gave themselves that title. A bunch of arrogant people.â Blaise responded coldly.
Upon mentioning the Four Young Dandies, it seemed Blaise was quite disgusted.
Ethan Smith laughed, âHave they offended you?â
âNot exactly, I just canât stand their attitude,â Blaise replied.
âThis group of people, they look down upon us martial artists. If it wasnât a law-abiding society now, I would have slaughtered them a long time ago.â
Ethan Smith just laughed helplessly. He didnât really care much for these people or had any interest in them.
As long as they did not cause trouble for him, he didnât care about what they thought.
As more and more people arrived, many of the martial artists began to gather around Ethanâs table.
The atmosphere was full of lively chatter, most of the conversation revolving around martial arts related matters.
Seeing that the time was right, Ethan asked, âEveryone, do you know where one could get top-quality herbs? Or through what means?â
âTop-quality herbs?â Daphne Green took over the conversation.
Ethan nodded and said, âThe older the better, if itâs over ten thousand years old then that would be excellent.â
âA herb over ten thousand years old is a tad difficult, even a single one of those could attract the attention of major forces.â Someone commented from the side.
âIndeed, even in the various worlds, there arenât many.â
âThose are life-saving treasures. A single Ten-thousand-year-old medicinal herb might not actually bring someone back to life, but itâs almost as good.â
Upon hearing this, Ethan couldnât help but sigh.
It seems it wonât be so easy to find a Ten-thousand-year-old Medicinal herb.
âEthan, you could try the Exchange Meeting,â suggested Tyler Wright.
âExchange Meeting? Whatâs that?â Ethan asked, puzzled.
Tyler Wright looked around the crowd and said, âSince the Mystic Realm is now public knowledge, there is no need for me to keep it a secret from you all.â
Everyoneâs eyes focused on Tyler Wright, waiting for what he was going to say next.
Tyler Wright continued, âThere are many mystical realms in this world, and most of them are possessed by martial aristocratic families that have a countless years of heritage, and typically have deep foundations.â
âFor the present world, Ten-thousand-year-old Medicinal Materials are indeed extraordinarily rare. But in the Mystic Realms, they are still rare and precious but not irreplaceable.â
âIf you all have any top-notch treasures, you might be able to bring them to the Exchange Meeting for trade.â
Before Ethan could respond, Emmett Middleton asked, âAnd where is this Exchange Meeting held? And how do we participate?â
Tyler Wright chuckled, âI wonât lie to you. The Exchange Meeting is held by the major families that own the mystical realms, and our Wright Family is one of them.â
âThe location of the Exchange Meeting, of course, is also within a Mystic Realm.â
âAfter all, the treasures exchanged at the meeting are many and varied, all from within the mystical realms, so the slots are not many. I only have four of them, and Iâm not quite sure how to distribute them yet.â
Emmett laughed lightly and said, âMr. Wright, thereâs no need to beat around the bush. Just say it, how can we earn a slot?â
Tyler Wright looked at everyone and said, âIâm not a philanthropist. If you want a slot, you naturally have to exchange it for a treasure.â
âWhoever can offer a sufficiently valuable treasure can get a slot. Letâs compete fairly.â
The crowd fell silent. Each of their minds was filled with madness. Ever since the appearance of the Mystic Realms, the resources of the major martial arts families seemed to be somewhat deficient.
âWhen exactly will this take place?â Ethan Smith questioned.
Tyler Wright smiled lightly and said, âIn three days, we will depart after three days.â
At his words, everyone eagerly agreed, âAlright, within three days, we will definitely present our treasures.â
Ethan Smith also began to ponder in his heart.
Treasures? He had quite a few, but it didnât seem like many of them were worth using.
And the opponents he was facing were the elite successors of the major families. They must have a lot of treasures.
âMr. Smith, may I have a word with you?â said Tyler Wright, suddenly approaching Ethan Smith.
Ethan Smith didnât refuse and followed him to the side.
Tyler laughed lightly and said, âMr. Smith, you definitely want a slot, right?â
Ethan Smith didnât pretend otherwise, he sighed bitterly, âWho wouldnât want such a slot.â
Tyler Wright said calmly, âIn fact, thereâs something you possess that could attract me. As long as youâre willing to part with it, not to mention a slot, I could even give you a Ten-thousand-year-old Medicinal Material.â
Ethan Smithâs eyes narrowed and his face suddenly turned cold.
He had a pretty good idea of what Tyler Wright was after.
