Chapter 30: 29~ Emotional & Suspicious

Love, Vengeance And RedemptionWords: 17641

There is a very thin line between truth and fantasy. For once, Shruti wondered how it would feel to be close to Jaydev. She has been attracted towards him many times and every time she comes close to him, the line between fantasy and reality breaks and she leans towards reality.

Like right now, he was so close to her that she had difficulty taking breaths. Don't know what kind of intoxication had taken over his mind that he was not even thinking of backing off.

His hot breath feathered her lips and he grabbed every opportunity to leave her stunned and fluttering in his mercy. Shruti can speak as much as she wants but when it comes to implementing those words, she is the one who regrets the most.

His nose tip touched her. She could now hear the sounds of his breath. Her eyes closed tightly, chest moved up and down and she did not move an inch from her place as she did not want to initiate any single physical touch. What if he loses his mind tomorrow and starts blaming her?

She bit the inside of her cheek. Her eyebrows scrunched in worry and she thought of ways to escape this crazy moment. Her breath stuck as she felt his lips brushing with her in a gentle stroke.

Is it happening? Will I lose my first kiss like this? No no no, Shruti. He is drunk. Do something. He has no right to ruin my first kiss like this-

She was the happiest human on this earth when he suddenly opened his eyes and backed off. His eyebrows knitted as he stared at her face.

She placed her hand on her left side of chest and let out a breath of relief from mouth.

Before something untoward happened, some old memories knocked at his mind. He ran his fingers into his hair and cursed himself then went away from there and climbed up on the bed.

" Mere hoth to jaate Aaj."

( My lips would have gone today.)

She touched her lips and thanked God for saving her from Jaydev today. She looked at Jaydev and scoffed mentally.

" Look at his attitude? As if he was the victim of a kiss. I would have smacked his ass if he had stolen my kiss."

She mumbled while climbing up on the bed.

" No, smacking ass doesn't sound civilized. I would splash water on his face again."

She smiled in an evil way and looked at him. Although he's drunk and surely did not mean that moment but she needs her apologise right now because he won't apologise in sober state.

She cleared her throat and he looked at her.

" What?"

He asked boringly.

" I expect an apology."

She said with a fake egoistic voice.

" Apology my foot. Shut up and sleep."

She made a face and almost grabbed a pillow to hit him.

" You are such a rude man, SP Sahab."

She huffed and he proudly accepted her statement. She clenched her fist and angrily lay down on her back.

" You better not talk to me again. Instead of feeling sorry for doing something wrong, you are exulting in it?"

He rubbed his forehead with the first two fingers of his right hand and closed his eyes. Eisha's memory rang in his mind at the right time. He got down from the bed and dialled the number of hotel service.

Shruti attentively listened to his conversation and sighed heavily when he ordered wine from the service.

" Mere SP Sahab nashedi the aur mujhe pata bhi nahi?"

( My SP Sahab was drunkard and I didn't even know?)

She uttered in a low voice. He sat on the couch and waited for his drink which arrived in the next 10 minutes. He grabbed it from room service then locked the door.

Shruti slid the duvet down from her face and stared at him silently drinking the wine while seated on the couch. She should not be bothered. It's not like he will stop if she demands. He would rather get furious at her and she did not want to indulge herself in an useless argument.

But,

did she listen to her intrusive thoughts? No. She was really irritated by his continuous drinking since the party. So, she removed the duvet from her and got down from the bed. She went to him and snatched the bottle from him with which he was pouring drink in the glass.

" Enough, SP Sahab. This is not healthy. You are consuming it like a drunkard."

He forwarded his hand at her, " vapas do aur jaake so jao."

( Give it back and go to sleep.)

She glared at him, " I won't!"

She went to the bathroom and poured the left out drink in the toilet then flushed it. She threw the bottle in the dustbin but when she came out of the bathroom, she slapped her forehead because he was on call with hotel service.

She hurriedly went to him and snatched the handset of the telephone from him. She disconnected the call and put the handset back in its place.

" Urg! What the hell is your problem?"

He groaned and faced her angrily. She put her hands on either side of her waist.

" What the hell is your problem, SP Sahab. How much more do you want to drink?"

" So much. Any problem? Why are you behaving like my wife?"

" Because I am your wife!"

She stated and he scoffed then pushed her aside and sat on the bed.

" You wanna stop me? Do it. I will be up all night. When you will sleep, I will order it."

He said stubbornly. Her mouth hung open and she sat opposite him on the bed.

" Have you gone mad, SP Sahab? That's alcohol. Not fruit juice."

He rolled his eyes.

" Try to sleep-"

" I won't. Just shut up and move away," he spatted rudely.

" You shut up!"

He frowned and looked at her because she literally sounded furious and he was not at all wrong. She pointed her finger at him and continued,

" If you dared to touch that drink again, I won't leave you."

He chuckled mockingly, " what will you do? In fact what can you do to me? Nothing."

She chuckled and ran her fingers into his hair to calm her mind and tried to convince him in sweet voice,

" Listen SP Sahab. I know something is troubling you. Try to sleep. If you stay awake like this, you will search for wrong things to divert your mind. You know the benefits and side effects of this drink better than me. Well, if you are with friends then a little bit is okay but this much? You are crossing all limits."

As she continued giving lectures to him, his expression slowly softened. He blinked his eyes, seeing Eisha in her. His heart beat increased and restlessness clouded his brain.

" Shh shh shh!"

He hurriedly shushed her and covered his ears. She frowned, noticing a strange change in his behaviour.

" Jay?"

She tried grabbing his hand but he pushed her hand away and shook his head, " stop. Stop calling me that. You make me crazy. You... You remind me of my Eisha."

Her frown faded from forehead and she stared at his face silently. He looked restless all of sudden and she probably understood the reason behind this excessive exploitation of alcohol by him.

" Oh," she uttered and got still in her place when, for the first time, she saw tears in his eyes for Eisha.

" Jay-"

" Don't," he whispered and shook his head at her.

" Muj..mujhe aaj uski bahut yaad aa rahi thi isliye..isliye mai.."

( I.. I missed her so much today that is why I.. that is why..)

He licked his dried out lower lip and a long tear escaped his eyes. Her heart pricked seeing his condition and she shifted closer to him.

" Hey, it's okay."

She uttered very sweetly and cupped his cheeks.

" I didn't know about this. I am sorry-"

She was cut off in the middle when he drew closer to her and wrapped his arms around her, hugging her. She dropped her hands down while he tightened the hug and cried on her shoulder.

" I... Miss her. I miss her so much."

He expressed his suppressed emotions for the first time to her. She felt sad for him and for herself as well. Her hands itched to hug him but she maintained the little distance.

" I can't forget her. I can never forget her."

She chewed her lower lip. It's okay. It's okay. She shouldn't feel like this. He was just expressing his feelings. He is heartbroken. Life has been cruel to him. It's okay to love someone so deeply. She should lend her shoulder to him. It's not like this relationship will last long.

She closed her eyes when tears collected in her orbs.

No matter how much she tries to convince herself, she feels heart broken. Every time he mentions his lost love, she feels disappointed and hurt. It is just a one sided feeling. He can never understand her emotions and he has no fault in this. He made himself clear from the very first day but it was her, who made a place for him in her heart.

When Jaydev got tired, he fell asleep. She covered him with a duvet then lay on her side. She faced him and blinked.

" I have to make distances. It's not healthy for any of us."

She said and let out a deep breath.

Because Aryan had not returned yet, Pakhi could not sleep. She did not know where he had gone. It has been more than 3 hours and neither did she receive any phone call nor did he come back. She killed her time changing the channels of the TV present in the hotel room.

She frowned as a news channel grabbed her attention. Breaking news was telecast on the television.

Today at 8 pm, 5 dead bodies were found in a street. According to the police, they belong to some gang and the person who killed them is not yet known. An alert has been issued in the area...

She turned her gaze at the door when it opened and Aryan entered.

" Where were you?"

She asked and he closed the door. He glanced at the television then replied to her question,

" Had an urgent work. Went to meet a person."

He was not giving a clear answer so she also did not insist. She turned off the television and was about to lay down on the bed when her eyes landed on his shirt. It was changed. It wasn't the same one he wore at the party.

" What happened to your shirt?"

He started unbuttoning his shirt, " I was in a restaurant with that person. A girl accidently dropped juice on my shirt so I had to change my shirt."

His answer was.. a little suspicious but she paid no attention and lay down.

" You should have informed me that you'll be late. I was waiting for you."

" Oh, I didn't expect that. I thought you would sleep."

He said and came on the bed. She did not like the answer but did not complain. He should know his mistakes himself. He exhaled as he lay down on the bed. He closed his eyes.

Pakhi frowned, spotting a cut mark on his shoulder.

" How this happened-"

He snapped his eyes open when she touched his cut mark.

" It's nothing."

Aryan replied and gently pushed her hand from his shoulder.

" You know? You are being suspicious. Did you indulge in fighting?"

He raised his eyebrows and looked at her. His expression was stern. It was true that she got nervous seeing his reaction and regretted asking such questions from him.

" I will answer all your questions. But,"

He turned to her side and smirked, " let me kiss you first."

Her cheeks turned warm while his smirk widened.

" So-"

" Not at all! Don't tell me anything."

She scoffed and he chuckled.

" You are so adorable sometimes," he pinched her cheeks. She pushed his hand away and turned her back at him.

" Aye? Did you get angry now?"

" Do not-"

She gasped when he wrapped his hand around her waist and pulled her back to his chest.

" The audacity of yours-"

She wiggled to free herself but as soon as he whispered in her ear,

" Shhh,"

she stopped struggling. Her heart beat accelerated, feeling his hot breath against her ear. Her eyes slowly closed automatically. His arm around her waist felt strong and possessive. It seemed like a handcuff whose key was lost and from which she could never be released.

She lost her ability to fight back because he was doing strange magic near the side of her neck. His lips brushed against her earlobe. His eyes closed as he got busy inhaling her scent.

She held his arm and gulped down her saliva and grabbed his hand on her waist in an effort to move it away but ended up dropping her head down to the bed when he put his lips below her ear.

She parted her mouth to breathe and squeezed her eyes. His moustache and beard tickled her skin wherever it touched her. The effect of his lips on her skin was so soothing that she felt herself in a different world.

He made himself more comfortable and ended the little distance with her. She felt his chest touching her back and his fingers slowly drawing patterns on her clothed waist.

He caressed his kiss down to her neck and stopped on her shoulder. The fabric turned out to be an irritating barrier between his hand and her waist. Sensing her comfortable enough, he slipped his hand under her shirt.

Her breathing turned heavy. He pressed his palm on her belly and tried calming her,

" Shh.. calm down. Calm down," he whispered against her shoulder. She chewed the inside of her cheek. Her whole attention shifted to his rough palm on her belly.

His index finger traced a line till her navel before he started making a circle around the navel. His lips, however, moved on the exposed part of shoulder. He did not get tired of kissing her shoulder.

" Ah!"

She whispered when he slid his little finger into her navel. Her body stiffened. She should not like his touch. She should not react like this. It will boost his ego and he will win the challenge but she knows she will be defeated if he continues to behave like this. He is becoming capable of entertaining her both mentally and physically.

" Pl..please stop," she said courageously.

He withdrew his hand then moved a little back and turned on her back. Seeing her fluttering under him did something to his heart. She looked so adorable and like a meal. He hovered over her.

He cupped her cheek with one hand and put another beside her head for support. She did not dare to open her eyes and in the next few seconds felt his lips on her chin. Her breast touched his chest as she breathed heavily.

She shook her head and immediately cupped his cheeks.

" Please.."

He brought his face back. She timidly opened her eyes and looked into his intoxicated gaze.

" Don't do this.. I.. can't control such sensations," she whispered. It was all new to her and the same goes to him. There's just one difference. He's been dreaming of moments like this for years, but not her.

He joined his forehead with her.

" Even I can't.. you intoxicate me badly, biwi."

He rubbed his nose with her.

" What if... I win the challenge?"

She dared to ask. He smiled,

" Zindagi ke har mod par tumhare sath rehna hai.

Agar aayi musibat tum par to,

khanjar lena hai.

Tumhari jeet hamari jeet hai,

par maaf karna, jaan,

Ishq ki is baazi mein haar ko tumne gale

lagana hai..

( I want to be with you at every turn of life.

If trouble comes upon you,

I want to take the dagger.

Your victory is my victory,

But please forgive me, my love,

In this game of love, you have to accept defeat.)

Smile formed on her lips hearing yet another poetry from his mouth.

" It is not possible that you win everywhere. You will have to face defeat somewhere."

He shrugged his shoulders and lay down beside her,

" Never," he said with a determined tone.

She faced him and placed her palm under her cheek.

" Don't be overconfident. I have always topped in school."

" There is a difference between books and love. You are new but I am an old player."

" Sometimes freshness trumps experience."

He raised his eyebrows amusingly at the choice of her words then faced her as well,

" The result will be coming soon. If you win, I will leave you. If I won, what would you give me?"

She frowned, " am I not enough?"

He chuckled, " are you being smart? I think so."

" I am not being smart. I am already smart," she said.

He laughed lightly and flicked her forehead, " never saw this side of yours."

She smiled, " you know one day there was a guy who proposed to me in university."

He rolled his tongue inside the mouth to suppress his smile while she continued.

" But I could never reply to him. He transferred from the University suddenly," her lower lip curved into a small pout.

Yes, because he was the one who made it possible.

" Did you like him?"

She shook her head, " I did-"

" What!"

She started and placed her hand on her chest.

" W..what happened?"

He took a breath of relief and mumbled, " thank God, I got him transferred."

She frowned, " what did you say?"

He shook his head, " nothing. You continue."

She nodded, " so I liked him as well."

He rolled his eyes, " do you think you both would have ended up together? Not at all. Only thing I like about your brother is that he wouldn't have let that guy be close to you."

She made a face, " I know. At the same time he knew I wasn't comfortable with guys, that is why he was always protective of me."

He smiled and tucked the loose strands of her hair behind.

" If you got a chance to do something right what would you do?"

She smiled, " my parents' accident."

Pause of a few seconds came from her side before she asked, " what about you?"

His eyes sparkled as he said, " hamari shaadi."

( Our wedding.)

" Shaadi tod doge?"

( Break it?)

He shook his head, " I never wanted to marry you like that. I would like to have a very grand wedding with you."

She smiled slightly, " this is not possible in this birth."

" Who said? Nothing is possible for Aryan Chauhan. Once you lose the challenge, I will fill your life with happiness, love and of course mind blowing lovemaking-"

She gasped and hit his chest and glared at him, " this is what I don't like about you."

He laughed and patted her head, " I was just kidding. I am not scaring you, I am just telling you truth-"

" Hey!"

She whined and he laughed more than before. She huffed and turned her back at him angrily. He wrapped his arm around and squeezed her in his embrace,

" Ah! I love you so much~"

He squealed and kissed her cheek. She rubbed off his kiss and he chuckled.
