Shruti couldn't hold her desires and wrapped her arms around his back. He dominated her completely, from every side. From the kiss to the hold on her neck.
" Uhm," she arched her neck as he squeezed her neck gently, sending several butterflies to her.
He broke the kiss only to caress it down to her neck.
" Jay," she whispered because whatever he was doing made her feel restless. She was feeling all sensations for the first time. Till now, she has only received butterflies while reading books but didn't know if those moments are implemented in reality then it will feel wonderful and at the same time will make you restless.
" Ah!"
She hissed as he bit her skin, probably to mark her skin. He tilted his head and deepened the kiss on her neck. Her mouth parted slightly as she arched her neck and curled her fingers on his back.
Both were so indulge into each other that they didn't hear the sounds of knocks. Shruti was the first to notice and that too after 4 or 5 knocks.
" Someone is here," she whispered and tried pushing him but he jerked her hand and kissed the high of her chest.
" Leave it," he mumbled against her chest.
She thought to leave it but widened her eyes when she heard familiar voices.
" JAY YOU BASTARD!"
She gasped loudly and Jaydev withdrew his face. He looked at his wife with thinned eyebrows.
" Who is cursing me?"
Before Shruti could reply they heard another voice,
" Do not curse my Bhai!"
" I will. JAY YOU FUCKING ASSHOLE. OPEN THE DOOR. IT'S COLD OUTSIDE."
" Bhai?"
" Pakhi?"
Both Shruti and Jaydev spoke together. He quickly got down from her and she sat up to fix her blouse.
" Hey!"
She stopped when he was going out of the room.
" Wear your shirt. What will they think-"
She clenched her jaw when he went out of the room anyway. She scoffed and started fixing her saree.
Jaydev opened the main door and 2 new guests barged in the cottage.
" What the-"
He faced them while they shivered due to the cold. They are completely drenched.
" Bhai? Why have you not worn your shirt?'
Pakhi was equally worried about her brother.
" Oh God- Bhai and Pakhi?"
Shruti came, got shocked seeing them and hurriedly went back to the room to bring a towel for them.
" Why the hell did you not open the door? We have been standing outside for the past 5 minutes."
Jaydev rolled his eyes at Aryan and locked the door. Shruti came back with two towels and handed one to each. She passed Jay's shirt to him which he, fortunately, wore.
She helped Pakhi dry her arms and hair.
" I have a separate pair of clothes. Come with me," she pulled Pakhi to the bedroom.
Aryan removed his shirt and put the towel on his upper body.
" Do you have something for me to wear?"
He asked Jaydev.
" I have not come here for a picnic that I will bring clothes. There is nothing. Stay like this."
Aryan frowned, " why do you seem irritated and what are you two doing here?"
" Bhai," Shruti came before Jaydev could reply.
" Wrap this towel and give me your pants. I'll iron it."
Aryan smirked at Jaydev, " See how much my sister takes care of me."
Jaydev shook his head in disbelief. Aryan wrapped the towel around his waist then removed his pants and handed it to her.
Shruti went back to the bedroom in which Pakhi was present.
" And your underwear didn't get wet?"
Jaydev asked.
" So what if it is wet? Will you give me yours?"
" Shut up," Jaydev said and started making arrangements to light the fire.
" How did you come here?"
Aryan took a seat on the couch, " some men attacked us."
Jaydev stopped his movement and looked behind him, " is Pakhi alright? She is not harmed right?"
" Jab uska pati hai uske sath to kya hoga use?"
( What will happen to her when her husband is with her?)
Aryan replied with a cocky smirk and Jaydev resumed his work.
" Were they men of Rao?"
" Probably," Aryan replied.
After that, they did not say anything.
" Bhai? Here it is," Shruti came after a while and handed him his pants. He stood up and wore it hurriedly.
Pakhi came as well in a night suit which Shruti bought for herself. She has a shawl with herself as well. She sat down beside her husband and let the warmth of fire engulf her.
" So, are you okay Bhai?"
Shruti asked her brother and Jaydev sat on the couch.
" Hm?" Aryan hummed confusedly.
" Pakhi told me," Shruti took away his confusion.
" Oh yeah. Yes, do you think they can harm me?"
She chuckled lightly, " of course. They cannot."
Aryan smiled proudly.
" Are you guys hungry?"
Pakhi smiled and shook her head, " We are coming after having our meal."
" Then tea?"
Pakhi was about to take refuge but Aryan had different plans, " Yes, of course. It would be wonderful if we get hot tea. Anyway, we stood outside for a long time because of you two."
Both the husband and wife passed a disbelieving look to him. Shruti looked at Jaydev and said to him, " suno. Meri maddat kar do."
( Hey, please help me.)
" Di, I'll help-"
" Ahn, it's okay, biwi. They will manage."
Aryan placed his hand on Pakhi's lap to stop her. Jaydev sighed softly and stood, then both of them went to the kitchen. As they disappeared from their sight, Aryan said to his wife,
" Tum bhi na badi vo ho, biwi."
( You are really that, wifey.)
" Kya?" She knitted her eyebrows.
( What?)
" Kabaab mein haddi," Aryan almost rolled his eyes.
( Third wheel.)
" Kaise?"
( How?)
He sighed heavily, " I am an idiot to make a newbie understand. What do you know about love? It doesn't matter, beta, grow up a little and then you will understand everything."
He stroked her cheeks in sympathy. She pushed his hand and rolled her eyes.
" Aisi baat nahi hai. Sab janti hu main."
( It's not like that. I know everything.)
" Acha?"
He raised his eyebrows amusingly, " tell me as well."
She wrapped the shawl properly around herself, " they are just... helping one another and you know, spending some time alone- but why?"
Aryan was impressed until she uttered the last two words and looked at his face. He flickered her forehead,
" Because, beta they are in love-"
She gasped, " KYA-"
( WHAT-)
" Shh shhh," Aryan covered her mouth but he was too late. Her brother came running.
" What happened, princess? Why have you covered her mouth? Stop now!"
Aryan scoffed and passed a judgemental look to him, " I am kidnapping your sister."
" Nothing happened, bhai."
Jaydev nodded and went back to the kitchen. Pakhi smiled widely and grabbed Aryan's forearm.
" Really? Are they in love? How do you know?"
She seems excited to know every single part and equally happy for them.
" Unko choro," he pinched her chin and added, " hamara prem prasang kab shuru hoga?"
( Leave them. When will our love begin?)
" Tsk," she pushed his hand down, " tell me please."
He spread his arm on the head rest of the couch, " isn't it evident? Look at their behaviour toward each other. Jay can never help Shruti in Kitchen, unless he's not in love with her. Same is Shruti's case. She can never talk to him sweetly."
Pakhi blinked and nodded and whispered, " you are right. I just noticed."
Something clicked her brain and she gasped for one more time. This time, louder than before.
" It means, they were spending some quality time and we disturbed them."
He frowned, " yeah, I did not think that-"
" Let's go then."
She interrupted him and tried standing up.
" How? I won't go now."
She glared at him, " you just ruined their moment. I told you they must be sleeping."
Aryan rolled his eyes, " You asked me to shout loudly."
" Yes, but I didn't know they love each other now. But you did."
She accused him.
" How could we go home? Our car broke down," he threw a sensible question at her.
Her eyebrows squeezed together and she stared at the couch opposite to them for a minute almost. She seemed deep in thoughts.
" Yes!'
He startled as she exclaimed suddenly. Witnessing a wide smile on her lips, he wondered what mess had gone through her mind?
" We will just sleep early and not separate them, okay?"
Was she bringing them both closer or herself and her husband closer?
He chuckled lightly and replied without thinking much, " yeah sure."
Meanwhile,
Jaydev watched his wife with a smile on lips while she was making tea. He can see a light mark on his love on her neck. He crossed his hands around the chest and rested his butt against the counter.
" Kya dekhe ja rahe ho?"
( What are you looking at?)
Shruti asked with slight red cheeks.
" Tumhe. Ye ekdam se tumhara meethapan sehan nahi ho raha mujhse," he said.
( You. I can't stand your sweetness all of a sudden.)
She smiled, " aadat daal lo."
( Get used to it.)
She pointed the sieve at him, " itna pyar dungi ki diabetes ho jayegi aapko."
( I will love you so much that you will get diabetes.)
He chuckled while she giggled and shifted her focus back to the tea. He frowned as she continued blabbering,
" You should be grateful that I forgave you otherwise this bird would have flown away from your hands."
" Oh yeah, I will always be indebted to you," he tried to match her high-spirited behaviour.
" You should be," she opened the lid of the sugar box to add more sugar but he stopped her beforehand.
" Bas bas. Sach mein diabetes ke mareez banana hai kya?"
( Enough. Do you really want me to become a diabetic patient?)
She looked at him, " enough?"
" Yes," he said and she put the spoon back in the box then closed it and walked away to put it back in its place.
Jaydev chose to make tea because this girl may be an intelligent professor but she will definitely fail in kitchen work. Shruti smiled seeing him and back hugged him.
She placed her cheek on his back, " I love you."
He smiled, " love you too."
" By the way, did you get the divorce papers prepared?"
" No."
" Means you were forcing yourself?"
" Probably," he replied.
" Tell me one thing seriously, how do you manage to solve cases? Because if you loved me, you could have confessed instead."
He sighed softly, " I thought... I am not good for you and you deserve someone better. And I was also scared because of my past."
" So.. Eisha?"
He understood her question which she was unable to express in proper words.
" Eisha will remain in my memories but you have not replaced her. You have your own place in my life. You are my priority."
She smiled shyly and tightened the hold around him while the man who is always quiet, continued,
" Many strange things have happened to me since childhood. I lost my parents at a very young age and then Eisha..That is why I did not want to fall in love again. I had decided that I will devote my life to the service of the country and find a suitable husband for Pakhi. But then, I met Aryan and he married Pakhi in his own dashing way and then, I married you. Oh, how foolish I was to think I could trouble you. Whenever you irritate me, I used to get flashbacks of your childhood and I used to feel what I had done to myself."
She laughed and he shook his head in disbelief. He exhaled heavily and twisted the knob of gas when the tea was ready.
" And what else? I fell in love with you," he completed.
She broke the hug and he turned around then pecked her forehead.
" Get me cups, now. Tea will get cold."
She nodded and went away then came with four cups. He strained the tea into a cup and put them on the tray which Shruti held then walked out, followed by him.
" See bhai, I made it for you," Shruti took all the credits and Aryan grabbed his cup.
Shruti handed one cup to Pakhi as well then sat on her seat with Jaydev beside her. Aryan took a sip of the tea,
" This is made by Jay. Do you think I wouldn't know?"
Shruti bit her tongue while Pakhi smiled, staring at them.
" Now tell me, what you two are doing here-"
Pakhi put her free hand on Aryan's thigh, making him look at her. She shook her head with an anguish expression on face. Shruti and Jaydev stared at them confusedly, not knowing what was being communicated between the two through their expressions.
" Tell us as well," Shruti said and took a sip.
" Nothing, di."
Pakhi said and Aryan sighed at his wife. He looked at Jaydev and motioned him that his wife- Pakhi is mad.
" I have eyes," Pakhi glared at him and Jaydev burst into laughter along with Aryan.
She scoffed and took a sip of tea angrily. She hissed when the tea burnt her tongue.
" Do not drink when it's hot," Jaydev said.
" Iska gussa chai de jyada garam hai," Aryan remarked.
( Her anger is hotter than tea.)
" Bhai! Dekh lo inhe," Pakhi whined.
( Bhai! Look at him.)
" Chup reh bhai," Jaydev hurriedly scolded Aryan and Shruti laughed lightly.
( Shut up, bro.)
" Are ek baar apni behan ki baate sun tab pata lagega na."
( Hey, once you listen to your sister, then you will know.)
" What did she say?"
Jaydev asked curiously and Aryan smirked at his wife.
" Bata dun?"
( Should I tell them?)
Shruti and Jaydev look at Pakhi who glared at him intensely,
" Himmat hai to bata do."
( Tell them if you have the courage.)
Aryan nodded and cleared his throat, " so she was saying that we should let you two spend-"
" BHAI!"
Three of them burst into laughter while Pakhi's face turned red with embarrassment and anger.
" Okay okay, sorry."
Aryan quickly apologised and Pakhi scoffed.
After having tea and spending some time together, they thought of sleeping. Jaydev suggested that Pakhi and Shruti should sleep in the bedroom. He and Aryan will manage in the living room.
" No, bhai. You should sleep on the bed. How would you fit on the couch?"
" With this sense, I should also sleep on the bed, no?"
Pakhi narrowed her eyes on her husband. He is doing all this on purpose even though he knows that she is trying to keep them together.
" No, princess. Just go and sleep on the bed."
" Bhai-"
" No."
Her lower lip curved into a small pout as her mission failed. Shruti came from the kitchen and Pakhi started following her to the bedroom.
Jaydev and Aryan sat on the mattress which was spread on the ground. Aryan lay down and Jaydev, too, was about to but Pakhi came running.
" Bhai?"
They looked at her.
" I am not really sleepy so I will talk to him. He, too, does not want to sleep. You must be tired."
Aryan frowned at her countless efforts to bring her brother and Shruti together. For sure, she is the biggest shipper of theirs.
" Just go and lay down. You will fall asleep."
" I don't want to," she stepped forward.
" Princess, you are being very stubborn," Jaydev said with a little bit aguishly tone which did not affect her.
" Tere laad-pyar ka asar hai. Bhugat ab," Aryan said and folded his arm under his head.
( This is the effect of your love and affection. Suffer now,)
Pakhi chose to deal with him later.
" Just go-"
" No. I will sleep here only."
She came and stubbornly sat opposite to him and beside her husband. Shruti came out of the bedroom as well.
Jaydev sighed, " you will be uncomfortable-"
" I won't be. He will take care of me. You know he loves me a lot."
She batted her eyelashes at him and Aryan passed an impressed look at her. Look at her audacity to take advantage of his love just for her brother and sister-in-law's love.
Jaydev glanced at Aryan behind who blinked his eyes reassuringly.
" Okay," he said and stood up.
She smiled widely, " Good night."
" Call me if you don't want to sleep here-"
" Okay okay, go go now. Di is waiting."
At the mention of Shruti, he looked at her watching them with a bored expression. She must be feeling sleepy. He walked toward the bedroom and Pakhi stared at them with dreamy eyes until they were out of her sight.
Just when the door of their room closed, she glared at her husband. Her soft expression vanished in no second. He raised his eyebrows at her.
" Ab baat karte hain. Bahut nahi chidha rahe the aap mujhe?"
( Now let's talk. Weren't you teasing me too much?)
He blinked his eyes.
