I turned around to see the person tapped on my shoulder to see the raven haired boy standing there with a smile while his blue jewelled eyes were shining brightly.
"Elixir?" I asked surprised.
"Yes it's me" He answered inching closer to me while tapping on my forehead.
"I thought you weren't gonna-"My words were cut off by him.
"Surprise?"He said while awkwardly smiling. "By the way your attire looks great. It's a pity that I was looking forward to see you in a dress" He said looking a bit dejected.
"There's always a next time" I said and continued saying that "you look amazing as well. I didn't know you could dress so formally"
He was wearing a Black vest over a blue shirt and had sapphires on his vest.
"Of course. Since I had to impress my lady" He whispered gently as I blushed a little.
This idiot! He never misses a chance to tease me!
"Your identity is hidden then how did you get in here?" I asked changing the topic.
"Oh that... I stole my brother's invitation card" He said slyly.
"Eh? Are you sure it's going to be okay?"I sweatdropped.
"Of course it's going to be okay! You don't have to worry about it." He said while waving me off..
Before I could say anything I noticed that most of the nobles were eyeing us. Crap! They're gonna suspect his identity.
I quickly tugged on his sleeves and dragged him to a corner while leaving my chocolate cake on the table.

I can't drag him to the balcony since that'll raise more suspicions.
"Listen, Elixir if you stole Cesar's invitation card then he won't be able to appear and you know this is one of the important events of the book" I whisper yelled at him.
"Rina, it's going to be alright. You know that he doesn't have much of a role here afterall all that prick ever does is stalk that cotton candy and nothing else" He simply shrugged while grinning.
Is he serious right now? Wait cotton candy?
"Did you just call Mirabel cotton candy?" I asked while raising a brow.
"Why? Are you jealous?"He asked smirking.
"Wha- No!" I almost shouted and then regained my composure.
"Anyways, how did you clear your identity? You couldn't possibly get in by saying that you're Cesar"Â I asked suspiciously.
"That is... actually I told them I'm a proxy of the duke from the Vakaracia house " He said smiling brightly.
You can easily get a clearing with those eyes since only members of the Vakaracia house has such glistening blue eyes.
"So,Duke Vakaracia won't be appearing? " I inquired.
"No, apparently he's cooped up in that magic tower of his" He said while rolling his eyes.
I sighed and decided to shrug it off.
"Did you see all the characters?" He asked me while looking around.
"No. Mirabel and Alexander are supposed to arrive last and as for the rest Cesar won't be able to come" I said clearly hinting at him to which he smirked. "Now about Ronin, he's nowhere to be seen." I said looking around to catch a glimpse of the white haired male.
"Hmmm... That's weird" Elixir said while looking around with me.
"What is?"I questioned.
"Ronin. He's supposed to be here earlier than both of us" He answered.
Could it be that our involvement has caused a butterfly effect?
"Let's investigate it later" I replied.
But why does it feel like I'm forgetting something really important? Something that's supposed to happen now.
"Rina, don't you feel like we're forgetting something?" Elixir asked me while his eyes kept skimming past the nobles present at the banquet.
"I feel it too. Is it really something or someone?" I asked frowning not being able to remember clearly.
Both of us were snapped out of our thoughts when we heard the door opening along with an announcement.
"Now entering...Lord Xenon Winderwurt of the Winderwurt house in the north!"
Both of us turned our heads towards the entrance.
We both saw him. A black haired tall male with silver eyes. He was wearing black gloves and had silver linings on his attire.
My mouth parted as I continued to check him out.
Why is a villain so damn hot! To hell with it he even looked nice in his disguise when he almost choked me.
Before I could say anything I felt a hand on my chin trying to close my mouth.
I turned my head to see Elixir frowning.
"What?...He looks nice. Okay?" I clarified.
"Oh please he's not as handsome as me" He replied folding his hands while plastering a ridiculous smirk on his face.
Was he always this cocky? But it is true though... Elixir is quite handsome indeed. I decided not to think further and concentrate on the problem at hand.
"I can't believe we forgot about him" I said looking at the villain who kept on a cold and indifferent face.
"Yeah. Isn't he supposed to get madly obsessed with the heroine?"Elixir asked.
"Does it happen today?"I panicked.
"No... To be honest I don't know. The book doesn't say when he gets obsessed. His obsession is revealed once the kidnapping occurs" Elixir replied while frowning his eyebrows.
"Shouldn't we stop it?"I questioned.
"Yes, we should but then again it's supposed to be a really important event..like the final boost to their love story" He said.
"Yeah well I couldn't care less about their puppy love"I said while rolling my eyes.
"Your right. What's important is everyone's safety"He nodded his head in acknowledgement.
"Elixir? How did the kidnapping event end? Did he....die?"I asked curiously.
"Didn't you read it?" He asked me arching his brow.
"I did but in the book when Mirabel gets kidnapped Alex,Cesar and Ronin came to rescue her and in the end Alex stabs him" I said.
"So he's dead?"Elixir questioned.
I shook my head.
"No. It was never said that he died. The author wrote that he was stabbed and then Mirabel was rescued. Later the rebellion occurs and Mirabel escapes with Alex but there was no mention of Xenoc" I said squinting my eyes annoyed at the amount of brain work I'm doing.
This is like one of those mystery thriller movies that I used to watch back on earth.
"You're not saying that he's involved in the rebellion as well..are you?"Elixir asked suspiciously beside me.
"I don't know, Elixir." I sighed "This is more complicated than I had ever imagined"
Xenoc has no reason to ruin an empire. Of course his obsession with Mirabel is a solid reason but in the book he was never mentioned after getting stabbed by Alexander. In the end Mirabel had her happy ending with Alexander.
"Look Rina, our only lead right now is Marquis Leiber and I think we should focus on him also I can understand your suspicions on Xenoc. He is an extremely mysterious character. Everything about him screams suspicious. But right now Marquis Leiber is our target"Elixir said.
"Your right. I must've been delusional to get obsessed with him at that time"
He just smirked at me.
"The important thing is that you should learn from your mistakes and don't repeat them"
When he said that I remembered SungHo. I was delusional then as well. Love is not something that I should expect anymore. Love is expensive and I'm not rich enough to afford it.
I was scowling thinking about the past right then I felt someone pinch my cheeks.
"Why are you making such expressions?" Elixir asked me and continued to pull my cheeks.
"Wyhatsh yong wyith you?" I said annoyed while squatting his hands away.
"Now you're back to normal"He said proudly while I continued to rub my cheeks.
Just when we were talking another announcement was heard loud and clear.
"Here enters, his highness the crown prince, Alexander Von Rultaz and her highness,the crown princess, Mirabel Melody"
