[UNEDITED]

I tossed and turned in my bed. My eyes were open and burning with tired. My eyes drooped but sleep couldn't come to me.

I sat up and frustratedly ran my fingers through my face. My heart ached to be near my mate for some reason but I chose to ignore it.

My head hit the pillow once again and after twenty more minutes of trying, I couldn't sleep.

"Dammit!" I groaned and tiredly rubbed my eyes. My mind was elsewhere making it difficult to think of nothing. I kept thinking about the rogues, the hunters, my family leaving, the confusing feelings I've been beginning to feel when Parker's around and the sudden urge to kiss him breathlessly. I didn't know what to think about that.

My wolf kept putting images in my head that had me wanting him. I tried thinking of other things but my thoughts would drift back.

The sound of my door creaking had my eyes darting towards the door. A tall silhouette stood there and the smell of my mate filled my nose.

I sat up in my bed and stared at him. He closed the door behind him and walked towards my bed. I noticed he was wearing only pajama bottoms, not shirt. My eyes drank in his muscular chest and broad shoulders. His hair was messy and he looked exhausted. The moonlight made his tan skin glow and his eyelashes casted shadows on his cheeks.

"Can't sleep?" I asked him.

He shook his head and ran his fingers through his hair. "No, I couldn't," he replied. His eyes watched as I laid back down on my bed and pulled the covers up to my chest.

He stood there for a few moments before whispering, "Can I sleep here with you?" My eyes widened a little. I scooted over a little to give him space. He took that opportunity to get on my bed and climb under the covers. Heat radiated off of his body.

The urge to kiss him grew at the moment because of his presence next to me. The fact that his chest was naked didn't help. I turned to lay on my stomach and turned my head away from Parker. I pressed my legs together and clenched my jaw, practically begging for sleep so these horrible thoughts would go away. Irene wasn't even helping.

Parker shifted until I felt him hovering over me. "What are you thinking about?" My breath hitched as his warm breath fanned my ear. His body pressed against mine and his elbows rested beside my head.

"Nothing," I managed out. He growled lowly in my ear at my response. "Sure doesn't smell like nothing," he whispered and I shivered as his lips grazed my ear as he spoke.

A part of me wanted to push him off of me but the other part wanted more. I whispered back, "Why ask? You probably already have an idea."

My hand reached out and gripped onto Parker's wrist. I leaned forward and pressed my lips to the inner side of it. I could hear Parker's heart beat quicken at the action and he sucked in a breath.

My hair was moved to the side and before I could question what he was doing, he buried his head into my neck and latched his lips to the base of it.

My body went weak as he lightly sucked on the skin. A breathy sound escaped my lips as the grip on his wrist tightened.

His tongue darted out and he ran it along my collarbone and over the spot he would mark me. His chest was pressed against my back and he was straddling my waist. I was able to feel how excited he was at the moment. Shocks and sparks filled my body as my skin was heated by his touch.

My toes curled as his lips gently sucked on the spot where my shoulder and neck meet and I let out a moan that had him groaning in response.

"You're skin is so soft," he said huskily, his breath tickling my skin when he spoke. Slowly, he pressed one last kiss to my neck before pulling away.

I turned to lay on my back so he was staring down at me. His eyes were glazed over with lust as he started down at me. Mine probably looked the same.

He lifted up his hand and ran a finger down the side of my neck stopping where he was kissing me. A smirk fixed onto his lips as he gently turned my head to the side sporting a satisfied look on his face. He looked back at me and I raised an eyebrow at him.

"What?" I gulped.

His smirk widened. "Nothing, except you've got a nice hickey," he told me and then ran his finger over it, "Right there." My eyes widened. Shit.

Before I could say anything, my phone vibrated. My eyebrows furrowed. Why would I be getting a text at four in the morning?

I pushed Parker back, no matter how much he protested, and I reached for my phone on the nightstand. I squinted my eyes as I read the text.

Sarina 4:16 AM

Come quick! Something's wrong with your brother!!!

I sat up quickly as I reread the text over and over again. I pushed the covers away from me and it pooled around Parker.

"What's wrong?" Parker asked me curiously as I climbed off of the bed. Ignoring the fact that he was still in the room I took off my shorts and put on a pair of sweatpants.

"Something's wrong with my brother. I think he might be shifting for the first time," I told him as I pulled a hoodie over my tank top.

Parker's mouth formed an 'o' and he got off the bed as well. He followed me as I grabbed my phone and left my room.

Parker got the keys to his car and started it. We got in and he drove us to the pack house. I was quick to jump out of the car and ran inside. My feet carried me up the stairs and to the room my brother was staying in. I could here voices inside the room and went inside.

My brother was on his bed, sweat dripping down his face as he cried out in pain. Tears streamed from his eyes as he arched his back in pain.

My mom was silently crying as she watched him.

"We need to take him outside, he's going to shift," I told her. She nodded her head silently. Parker stepped into the room after I did. He walked over to Andrew and picked him up.

"There's a clearing a few minutes into the forest, we can go there," Parker stated as he headed for the door. All of us followed him out of the room. Sarina and I shared a look, very well knowing the pain of going through your first shift.

My first shift happened when I was at school in class. I felt a sudden pain shoot through my body and I knew that I was going to shift. I left class and went to the bathroom and the pain grew. I had texted my mom, asking her to pick me up. I was glad that I was home when I finally shifted. It hurt as hell but was exciting.

We entered a clearing and Parker set Andrew down on the ground. He withered pain and I watched the bones in his body started moving and twisting as he slowly started the first part of the shift. The process was slow and painful.

Parker stood next to me and kept his hand on the small of my back. Even though my hoodie was thick, I could still feel the warmth from his hand.

Andrew's body kept shifting. His eyes were squeezed shut and he was gritting his teeth. Claws grew from his hands and his ears pointed. His teeth grew into canines and sandy colored fur started growing from his skin. Soon his clothes started ripping as he grew into his wolf shape.

I felt myself smile at him. It looked painful but it was exciting. My little brother was finally going to meet his wolf. Sure mine can be a pain in my ass, but they're still a big part of you. In just two more years, he'll be able to start looking for his mate.

After what felt like forever, Andrew had fully shifted into his wolf. It was a sandy brown color and pretty big. He stood up on all fours but collapsed back onto the forest floor. He was too weak to move around because all of his strength and energy was used during the shift.

"His wolf is so beautiful," I said as I took steps towards him. Parker's hand gripped my wrist to stop me from going towards Andrew.

"He's not in control of his wolf yet. He needs to learn. If you go up to him he'll assume you're a threat," he told me. I nodded my head and looked back at Andrew who was watching all of us carefully.

It was my dad's turn to speak. "We should give him some time to get use to his wolf. Now I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm going to go back to bed," he stated as he gave his son one last look before turning on his heel. My mom followed him also. Parker took my hand in his and lightly tugged on it when I continued watching Andrew.

"He'll be ok," he assured me. I nodded and followed Parker out of the forest. We silently walked side by side to Parker's car. The ride back was silent, both of us in need for sleep.

I didn't realize I fell asleep until I felt arms lift me from my seat. My eyes opened a little bit and my eyes met the chest of my mate. I assumed he was carrying me to my room.

I felt my body make contact with a soft surface, knowing it was a bed. My mate's scent surrounded me and I realized it was his room. The bed dipped beside me and I felt arms snake around my body and pull me flush against him.

I smiled softly before falling back into a deep slumber.

"Bye, you guys!" I hugged Sarina tightly. I probably wasn't going to see either of them for a long time.

Tears welled up in Sarina's eyes as she hugged me. "I'm going to miss you a lot, Jamie," she wailed as we wiped her eyes with the back of her hand.

I held back my unshed tears as I watched my best friend cry. "I'm going to miss you, too. I hope you move in with your mate safely. Text me when you get there."

She nodded her head and stepped back. I turned to Anthony but before I could hug him, Shelby and Zoey jumped on my sobbing.

"Please let us stay!" They cried in unison.

The tears in my eyes threatened to fall. "I wish you could, but you have school," I croaked out. I put on a small smile, "Besides, who will take care of dad?"

They both giggled as my dad piped up, "Hey!"

They hugged my tightly and I hugged them both. I hugged my parents who basically demanded that I make the right choices. My mom also mentioned to use protection when we get down and dirty, which caused Parker's cheeks to flush. She had said, "I don't want grandkids, yet."

"Don't get into trouble." Anthony smirked at me as he hugged me.

"No promises," he joked as he pulled away. The smile on his face didn't reach his eyes. I knew he wasn't happy that he was leaving.

I gave him a fake smile as I stepped back. I turned to Andrew who stood with his hands in his pockets.

"How was meeting your wolf?" I asked him curiously. A grin graced his lips and his face lit up.

"He's really cool. I feel like he's a whole other part of me. We spent hours talking," he told me.

I remember when I met Irene. I smiled at the thought.

"Make sure to spend time with him and also practice shifting more. It won't be painful after a while of shifting," I said. He nodded his head. I hugged him before stepping back.

"Keep me posted on you and Reagan," I teased with a smirk on my face. His cheeks heated up.

"Shut up," he muttered. I laughed and messed up his hair earning a whine from him.

Everyone piled into the car and I watched with sad eyes as my family left. Parker kept his hand on the small of my back.

"They'll be fine, you can visit them once we're done with the matter on hands with the hunters and rogues. Everything will be normal soon," he whispered to me.

I had a feeling that nothing was going to be normal.

Parker's eyes glazed over meaning he was being mind-linked. Once his eyes cleared up he looked back at me.

"It's time to start the interrogation."

.

The hunter was chained to the wall. Sweat stuck his hair to his forehead and blood trickled down his face.

"Why are you working with rogues?" Parker asked for what was like the 16th time. His voice was loud and demanding but the hunter didn't answer.

Instead he glanced at me and smiled sickly. "Well isn't she a beauty. Finally able to meet the girl I've heard so much about."

I scowled at him and Parker landed a punch square in the man's jaw. I heard what sounded like a crack and cringed a little.

"ANSWER ME!" He roared as he delivered another punch but to the guy's stomach.

The man wheezed for air but managed to smirk. "What's wrong with rogues and hunters working together?"

"Everything!" I shouted at him. "Hunters were originally created to get rid of rogues."

"Things change, darling," he drawled out.

Parker growled and grabbed the man by his throat. "You will eventually tell me what your plans are," he spoke through clench teeth. He then shouted, "Take this damn hunter to his cell and bring me the rogue."

The guards standing by the door roughly grabbed the hunter's arms and took him away. What seemed like moments later, another man was brought into the room.

He looked much younger than the other one, probably about 21 years old. He definitely had the looks. His dirty blonde hair was cropped short and his muscles bulged underneath his wrinkled and dirty shirt.

He had an expressionless face as he stood there as the guards chained him to the wall using. The man hissed out in pain when the silver chains came in contact with his skin.

He cursed under his breath as he squeezed his eyes shut. "Before you start demanding for answers, I won't give you any," he commented nonchalantly, "I will not betray the one who I take orders from. By the way, I'm Dakota."

I watched how Parker shot a glare towards Dakota and clenched his jaw. His fist itched to punch him but I grabbed his wrist.

He flared his nose as I shook my head. "Don't. He's just trying to get a reaction out of you," I warned him.

He nodded his head stiffly before shooting daggers at Dakota.

"So Alpha Parker, what are you going to do? Kill me? Go ahead, I won't answer either way," he taunted with a smirk on his lips.

Parker gritted his teeth and even I resisted the urge to castrate him and shove his balls down his throat.

"Don't worry, if anything we will torture you until you die on your own," I spoke up with narrowed eyes.

The Dakota's head snapped towards me. The smirk slowly slipped off his face as he sniffed the air. He stiffened a little but then scoffed.

My brows furrowed as did Parker's but we didn't say anything.

I pulled Parker to the side. "How are we going to get him to speak?" I asked him.

He ran his hand through his hair and sighed, "I don't know."

I glanced at Dakota who was looking at me smugly. This asshole definitely needs a good kick between the legs.

Parker placed a hand oh my shoulder. "You should go have some lunch. I'll see if I can get him to talk by the time you get back, if not, I guess we'll have to think of something."

I nodded my head and left. After exiting the prison I sent Peyton a text asking if she wanted to meet up for lunch.

She instantly replied with a yes. I sent the other girls texts letting them know where we were at just in case they wanted to come.

I walked on the sidewalk passing by buildings. Once I reached the cafe, Peyton and the girls were inside already at a table.

"How did the interrogation go?" Winter asked me as I took a seat between Peyton and Kennedy.

I frowned. "Not so good. Neither would talk," I replied.

"That sucks," Riley piped up. I nodded at her.

"We ordered you one a panini with soup," Peyton told me. I grinned, the paninis there were amazing.

Peyton's eyes furrowed and she sniffed the air. She leaned over to me and smelled my arm. She stiffened a little. "Do you guys smell that?"
