Chapter 48: CH 48

Shen Yi was good-looking and his face alone was enough to attract attention, and now that he had just appeared alongside Li Xing and the others, the people around her were even more curious about him.

Shen Yi was a discreet person, even after he had returned to the Shen family, he rarely showed up in public and thus not many people recognized him as the second young master of the Shen family.

There were only a handful of people.

Lu Wanwan was not deaf, of course she heard what they were saying.

She stepped forward in the midst of all the people watching and, in order to set herself apart from Shen Yi, she spoke through the car window, obviously drawing a line with the man in the driver’s seat. She said, “Mr. Shen, this is too much trouble, besides, we’re not going the same way.”

She called him Mr. Shen and they didn’t even live together, it really seemed like they had divorced after all ?

Li Xing also thought it was like this and he was deeply convinced.

Shen Yi gripped the steering wheel tightly, his face darkened in an instant as he let out a sneer: “Get on.”

It was dark inside the car, Lu Wanwan couldn’t see the expression on Shen Yi’s face, but although she just called him in a very distant manner “Mr. Shen”, the man didn’t seem angry.

The intoxicating feeling left by alcohol hit her and Lu Wanwan, feeling a little sleepy, leaned against the window glass and closed her eyes, intending to rest for a while.

When she opened her eyes again, Lu Wanwan found herself resting on Shen Yi’s lap, which had become her pillow. Her eyelids moved, her eyes looked innocent as her gaze fell on the man’s delicate and beautiful profile.

She slowly got up from his lap, her mind not very clear as it was always the case whenever she was just awaking. She asked, “Shen Yi, what time is it now?”

Shen Yi gave a light and slow laugh, “How come you’re not calling me Mr. Shen anymore now?”

Lu Wanwan was a little embarrassed by his words, so she could only find an opportunity to change the subject, “I’m going to go get a glass of water.”

When she came out of the kitchen with a glass of water, Shen Yi was standing by the window talking on the phone, his expression looked somber, the air pressure surrounding him was a little low.

Lu Wanwan stood there, listening for a short while, although she didn’t understand much of it, but she could mostly guess that the caller wasn’t talking about anything good.

Shen Yi finally said, “I got it, don’t worry about it.”

Then he hung up the phone.

When Lu Wanwan raised her eyes, the man turned around and coincidentally met her gaze.

She gulped and asked, “What’s wrong?”

She added in a more cautious tone, “Did a problem occur at work?”

It should now be time for the whole “Shen Yi’s small company going bankrupt” plot, coupled with the look on his face that really couldn’t be considered good, thus Lu Wanwan asked him to try and probe into it.

“Mmh, but it’s not a big deal.”

It wasn’t even an issue, it was just someone trying to make trouble for him and looking for death.

Lu Wanwan stared at Shen Yi in silence for a long time. Whenever he was at home wearing home clothes, his sharpness and ruthlessness softened, the expression on his face appeared light, his pupils dark and his temperament clean.

She looked down after a short while, fearing that she would be attracted by this man if she even took two more glances at him.

Shen Yi’s attractiveness, she had experienced it several times.

The look he had when he was obedient and well-behaved was one no could resist to. Lu Wanwan, when she acted like herself, was someone who never properly attended classes, she was a clear contrast compared to him.

Every time there was an uniform check, she would always be busted and she would either end up being scolded by the head teacher or punished by standing in front of the classroom for half a class period.

After having been punished several times, Shen Yi, frowning, asked her helplessly, “Can’t you wear your school uniform properly for once?”

Lu Wanwan was a bit of a willful young girl, tilting her head, she bickered with him, “I just won’t.”

And that wasn’t all.

She also willfully took off his school uniform as well, pretending she was fierce and showing her teeth, “You’re not allowed to wear it in the future either.”

Lu Wanwan never expected Shen Yi would listen to her so well. From that moment on, Shen Yi who was the first student in class, never wore again his school uniform, and from there on, the people being punished by standing in front the classroom door went from one to two.

The two previous time she had her heart broken, it was really normal.

If Shen Yi wanted to make a person fall in love with him, it wasn’t difficult at all.
