Chapter 33: Chapter 33

A Mouth Full of Blood.Words: 8014

It was half two in the morning and the Vanderwood mansion was silent. Everyone was peacefully sleeping, apart from one. That person was wandering down the hallways on the second floor.

The mansion was different at night, it was dark and quiet. Someone would find themselves rather lonely if they were to become lost.

Scarlet approached the door to Vinny and Oliver's room. She looked left and then right before slowly turning the handle. She held her breath when the door creaked but quickly walked inside.

Her gaze wandered over to the poster bed. As she walked closer, she could see the boys sleeping next to each other. They were close but Vinny made sure he didn't sleep too near. He didn't want to be woken up when Oliver was.

As Scarlet approached the bed, something sharp glistened in the moonlight. She was carrying a small knife and her intentions were evil and sinister. To any normal person, the thought of physically hurting someone would be enough to turn away but Scarlet was twisted and had no sympathy for others.

She walked up to Oliver's side and watched him. He looked peaceful and warm. He still had his hoody on underneath the duvet but thankfully for Scarlet, his arms were showing and resting on his chest.

She leant over him and carefully rolled up his sleeve. When it reached his elbow, he began to stir. He moved a little but it took only seconds for him to settle back down.

Scarlet breathed again and took hold of him. Before she did anything, someone grabbed her.

She gasped and quickly turned.

Kyran was staring at her with worried eyes.

"What the hell are you doing?" He whispered. Scarlet pulled her arm from his grip.

"It has to be done," She whispered back and checked to see if they were still sleeping.

"No, it doesn't. Scarlet, this is wrong," He turned her around. "You've gone too far this time. You'll lose your family."

He was right. They would most likely disown her but she didn't want to be part of a family where humans were accepted. Especially gay ones.

"I don't care, you can't stop me," She huffed.

Kyran shook his head.

"You'll regret it," He whispered. Scarlet shrugged before turning away. Kyran took a moment to process who he was married to. Sometimes he thinks he got given the wrong person, but deep down, they are unfortunately in love.

He decided that he wasn't going to let this go unnoticed so he ran to wake Vinny's parents.

When he was gone, Scarlet's gaze wandered to her brother. He looked relaxed, peaceful and calm. All of that was about to change. Did she feel any regret for what she was about to do? Vinny would hate her and never forgive her. He would probably never even speak to her again or consider her as a sister, but she didn't want Oliver to be viewed as part of this family. She had to show them that it couldn't work.

As she brought the knife up to his arm, she took a breath to steady her hand before slicing deep into Oliver's wrist.

The sharp pain woke him immediately. He let out a cry and looked down to his arm with wide eyes. Blood spilt quickly as he blinked in shock. What just happened?

He looked up at Scarlet with fearful eyes.

"What did you do?" His voice was ragged and tired. She stepped back when Vinny started to wake.

The smell of blood had pulled him from his dreams. It hit him like a kick to his chest. His eyes flickered open and he saw that his soulmate was awake but when he saw the blood, he sat up with big eyes.

There was a lot of it seeping from Oliver's wrist. They both looked at each other, startled and confused. Why was he bleeding? But the human understood what was about to happen.

It then hit Vinny too hard for him to hold back. Human blood was everywhere and the cravings completely took over his mind. He didn't see Scarlet standing in the shadows as Oliver fell out of bed in an attempt to move away from him, knowing that Vinny would not be able to stop himself.

The vampire got out of bed and pinned him to the floor. He took a firm grip on Oliver's arm, making him whimper. He pushed on his chest with his other hand to keep him on the ground as his fangs flashed almost instantly.

"V-Vinny, don't do it," Oliver stuttered and tried fighting against him but he was too strong. Vinny couldn't help it, his mind was screaming for him to stop. He knew this was wrong, he knew it was awful and Oliver was hurt. He needed to comfort him but the desire for blood was too overpowering.

"I-I can't," He frowned and red eyes shone against the moonlight. "I have to h-have it." The warm, oozing blood was drawing him in.

Oliver cried in pain when Vinny gripped tightly onto his bleeding wrist. Their chests hurt. It was physically impossible for strongly bonded soulmates to hurt each other, but this wasn't Vinny.

"Don't do this to yourself!" Oliver cried desperately.

He didn't care that Vinny was about to drink his blood, that wasn't what he was worried about. He was worried that once Vinny did drink his blood, he knew he would never forgive himself. He would be deeply ashamed and Oliver didn't want him to feel that way but he couldn't stop him.

As Kyran approached Scarlet's parent's room, he didn't think twice before entering. He switched the light on and quickly walked up to the bed.

"Wake up," He said and started to heavily shake Duke who frowned and covered his eyes from the light.

"Kyran, what on earth are you doing?" Madison croaked and squinted her eyes at him. They had no idea what time it was and why Kyran was in their room.

"Scarlet's about to do something terrible," He said quickly. He hoped he wasn't too late.

This made them both sit up.

"What?" Duke asked forcefully and climbed out of bed.

"She's about to cut Oliver so Vinny will drink his blood." Even he was disgusted at the thought of drinking his own soulmates blood. It was such a horrible thing to even imagine.

Duke and Madison's jaw's dropped to the ground as they stared at each other. They could not have heard that right. She wouldn't do that, would she?

"Oh my god," Duke breathed and suddenly barged passed Kyran. He ran as fast as he could out of the bedroom. They all ran down endless corridors until they approached the stairs. Duke nearly fell, he was going so fast. He had to get to his son. He had to stop him.

Worry filled their minds, please don't be too late.

Finally, they came to his room and flung the door open. Duke reached for the light and switched it on. As he looked up, his heart sank in his chest.

Oliver was sitting on the floor, with Vinny gripping onto his arm. He was rocking back and forth as his fangs were sunk deep into his wound.

He could see the hate and the sadness on his son's frown from what he was doing but once he started, he could not stop.

Oliver looked pale yet he was rubbing Vinny's back and trying to reassure him that he understood it wasn't a choice. He knew he couldn't help himself.

As Madison entered the room, she gasped and brought a hand up to her mouth. What she was seeing broke her heart. They knew how much Vinny would hate himself for this, they knew he would never forgive himself.

Scarlet stood in the corner feeling somewhat satisfied. But at the same time, regret hit her chest. She couldn't go back now but seeing Vinny looking so beaten affected her more than she thought it would.

Her brother was quietly sobbing as he drank the blood from Oliver's arm. It was so warm, so nice, but so wrong. Tears of misery ran down his cheeks and he wanted to stop so badly. But he couldn't, not until he had finished the two pints of blood.

Oliver could only think about why this was happening as he watched his soulmate. Why would scarlet do such a terrible thing? He understood why she hurt him, but doing this to her own sibling was so awful. It was sickening and evil. He had so much sorrow in his chest that he wanted to cry but he had to look strong for Vinny. He had to reassure him that he understood and he wasn't afraid.

Everyone watched in silence. They watched as Vinny sat with a mouth full of blood.

A mouth full of Oliver's blood.
