When Vinny didn't answer and lead his human to the stairs, Oliver just followed. As they made their way onto the second floor and headed down long corridors, Vinny could feel his soulmate watching him. A mighty wave of affection was drowning him.
"You feel that too?" Oliver asked. He knew they would have to do something to satisfy their needs. Even if they didn't take it as far as making love, they'd have to get reasonably passionate.
"Yes," Vinny said while they approached the bedroom door. Vinny entered first. Oliver followed and turned to shut the door behind him, but when he did, Vinny pinned him against the wood.
Oliver was stunned, and as he saw the growing desire in Vinny's eyes, he started feeling it too.
They allowed their gaze to inspect each other's faces. Vinny rested his whole body into his soulmates. Their feelings were too strong to hold anything back.
At the same time, they leaned close and connected their lips. Relief ran through them as they savoured the familiar taste of one another.
Vinny immediately reached up and ran his fingers through Oliver's hair, pushing his body harder against him. Their lips moved together as Oliver pulled on his waistcoat.
The kiss was as magical as the first time, and like all of their kisses, it felt amazing.
Vinny's emotions pulsed around his body and he effortlessly picked his soulmate up. Without breaking the kiss, Oliver subconsciously wrapped his legs around him. Vinny couldn't see where he was going and turned around, but he knew the bed was in that direction.
The kiss deepened. The boys felt like they couldn't hold back whatever possessed them to be passionate. They loved every second of it and wouldn't slow down. They couldn't.
Suddenly, Vinny's feet found the side of the bed, and with the weight of Oliver too, he fell forwards and land heavily onto his soulmate.
Oliver didn't mind as he wrapped arms around Vinny's shoulders and pulled their bodies even closer. They started breathing heavy as they began losing themselves in the moment. Their lips connected roughly in a desperate attempt to satisfy their cravings.
Vinny then felt Oliver fiddling with his waistcoat buttons. He didn't care and decided to slip his warm hands under Oliver's jumper so that he could feel his smooth skin against his fingers.
Any nerves or shy feelings had melted when they took a shower together. Emotions were stretching, and the boys knew it was about time. They were familiar with each other, and the strong bond made it ridiculously hard to back out.
As Oliver fumbled with the last button on Vinny's waistcoat, a loud creak of the bedroom door froze the boys in place. Vinny angrily snapped his head up to see who entered.
Duke stood with his hand still on the handle, staring at the boys lying on top of each other. Oliver still had his hands on Vinny's waistcoat buttons. Vinny still had his hands under Oliver's clothes. Duke was like a deer caught in the headlights but decided on revenge for their disappearing act in the kitchen. That was what he came to the bedroom for anyway.
"Get out!" Vinny growled.
"No. You need to come and help organise this party," Duke said and crossed his arms. He felt guilty that he was interrupting something that embarrassed the boys.
Vinny sighed and rolled away from Oliver. "No, will you please get out?" The boys had to finish what they started, and if they didn't, they'd be incredibly affectionate until they did.
"Son, you need to help." Duke stood his ground as Oliver propped himself up onto his elbows. He looked like he could barely contain himself from Jumping onto Vinny.
"Dad I don't think you understand. we-"
"Oh, I do understand. You both sneak off and leave everything to us? Your mother needs help to call friends and family."
Vinny was getting dangerously annoyed. Oliver could feel it.
Duke didn't understand the importance of what he just interrupted. The boys have never felt affection that strong before and he could never fully understand how hard it was for them just to stop what they were doing. The bond made it impossible.
"Look we'll help later, but we are kind of in the middle of something," Vinny said through gritted teeth, trying not to sound too irritated. Something about his father's persistence wasn't quite right.
"Don't talk to me like that," Duke snapped, "you're helping, now!"
Vinny then got too frustrated. "No, you came in here, and you didn't knock. Then you force us to arrange a party that I don't even want!" Duke could see he had angered his son, and now he was going to get nothing but immense attitude. Vinny's eyes tinted red. "Get the hell out of my room."
Duke knew he was unfair, but he wasn't going to allow his son to speak to him that way. "If you're not down in five minutes, you're sleeping in separate rooms tonight."
Oliver thought that Vinny looked like his dad when they glared at each other. Duke seemed to be very serious about what he was saying, even though it was impossible for them to be apart for that long.
The tension between father and son was sharp, and Vinny was stubborn when it came to arguments. "No," he said bluntly. Vinny was acting like a child, but his dad was ruining a crucial moment between himself and his soulmate. Vinny also didn't have a filter when he was angry and found it hard to stop himself from making it worse. He knew he should go downstairs and help, but he had dug a hole, and it was getting too deep for him to climb out.
"Don't test me," Duke grumbled. He hated arguing and knew it wasn't right to do it in front of Oliver, but he also found it hard to stop himself from getting the last word in. At least he knew where his son got his attitude.
Vinny crossed his arms but didn't move.
Oliver stared at Vinny with a look that said 'stop being so stubborn and listen to your dad'. Vinny didn't have the time to take note before his dad snapped.
"Right, that's it. Oliver, come with me. You're not allowed to see each other until the limit. And only then you can see each other for thirty seconds before you separate. I did warn you." Duke watched Oliver get up from the bed. The human glanced at Vinny with a desperate look, knowing he could change his dad's mind with a simple apology.
"Wait," Vinny said before standing up too. "I'm sorry."
"No. Too late, and I know you don't mean it." Duke grabbed Oliver's arm and pulled him out of the bedroom and down the corridor.
"You can not be serious!" Vinny shouted after him, making Duke stop and turn.
"I turned serious when you spoke to me like I'm not even your parent," Duke said as Oliver stared blankly ahead, wondering why people liked punishing him for their anger.
"Well, fine I don't even care," Vinny declared and stormed back into the bedroom and slammed the door shut.
Oliver shook his head and followed duke down the corridor.
"Sit over there," Duke muttered when they reached the dining room, pointing to the couches. He was only annoyed with Vinny, but Oliver did nothing to help.
Oliver scratched the back of his head before slumping to the couches. He didn't like it; there was too much tension.
Maybe that was what it felt like when he argued with his dad. Duke was possibly affected by the recent outcome, and that was why he had a short temper. It was normal for Vinny to get angry at simple things, but not Duke.
Madison frowned at Oliver's sulk as he flopped onto the couch. "What happened?" she asked.
"I'm punishing them," Duke said, not meeting his wife's stare. He knew Oliver shouldn't be punished too, but keeping the boys apart was the only punishment he could find. The boys could lose everything but each other and still be happy.
"What did they do? This anger isn't because they sneaked out of the kitchen is it?" Madison asked, hoping that her husband wasn't too harsh.
"No, I walked in on them being affectionate, and Vinny got overly annoyed about it."
"So he was rude to you, what's new? Duke, you interrupted them. That could have been their first time at maybe getting serious. They were probably feeling vulnerable," Madison said, watching Oliver rest his chin on his palm. He looked quite sad. "And did you knock?"
"No, but-"
"What have I told you about that? You know it annoys Vinny," Madison sighed.
"Look, I know our son's attitude is something he can't control, and there are certain boundaries that we don't step over because he gets angry and he can't help it, but he needs to learn that I'm his dad and he can't talk to me like I'm human."
Madison pinched the bridge of her nose. "Just because you're angry about something doesn't mean you should take it out on your son. I thought you wouldn't be a hypocrite and do what John did to Oliver. That boy has been in the face of two angry fathers, and you need to fix that."
Before Duke could make it right, the door burst open and Vinny stormed in. The teen vampire aimed for his dad. Nobody had time to react when Vinny wrapped arms around him and hugged Duke incredibly tight.
Duke was beyond stunned.
Vinny came to his senses rather quickly and decided that he couldn't let Oliver be punished. Vinny was childish and unfair to his soulmate.
"I'm sorry. I do mean it," Vinny muffled into the side of his dad's neck. Duke slowly wrapped arms around his son too, "but whatever is making you angry, please sort it out."
Madison watched Duke sigh. He visibly deflated in his son's arms. "Vinny, you stepped over the mark," he said and pulled back. "Next time when I ask you to do something, just do it."
"Well can you just knock then?" Vinny asked as his mother shot him a glare that made him roll his eyes. "Fine, I was a little rude, but what are you so angry about?"
"A member of the family has already called to say that they won't be attending the party. They said they don't support you and Oliver."
Vinny's expression didn't change. Yes, it was upsetting and felt like someone kicked him in the chest, but he was not given a chance to show them how pure and loving his relationship was with Oliver.
"Everyone knows this family throws the best parties, even the ones I don't want. They're missing out."
Vinny wasn't showing that he was bothered by the rejection, and Duke assumed he didn't care, so he felt better.
Vinny then turned and hurried over to his soulmate and just like what he did to his dad, Vinny pulled him into a hug too. "Sorry for letting you leave like that." Vinny felt the affection rise in the pit of his heart, but they had to ignore it.
"You're an idiot," Oliver said but hugged him back just as tight.
Vinny closed his eyes and breathed in his familiar smell. "You're an idiot," he mumbled back, and they smiled.
Oliver moved his head close so he could whisper. "Also, I think you should get a lock for your door."
Vinny had asked about that, but his parents thought it was a ridiculous idea and refused. "Or maybe we need an embarrassing sign that gives them a hint to stay out," Vinny whispered back.
They knew that if Duke hadn't walked in, their actions might have gotten serious.
"I'll make one," Oliver grinned. The affection still lingered from earlier, and he knew it would stay for as long as it took for the boys to be alone once more.
