It was three in the afternoon, and Vinny was staring at his soulmate. The party was due to start in five hours. Yesterday, the boys never got to go on their date or finish what they started. Duke made them help out with the party. Well, Duke had Vinny doing everything. Wherever the teen vampire went, Oliver went with him to help.
"Oliver, the restaurant closes in two hours. Would you like to go on that date?" Vinny asked, making him look up from what he was scrolling through on his phone.
"Sure," Oliver grinned, warming Vinny's soul.
Madison, Duke, and John looked up from the table as the boys left. They thought it was adorable how they went on dates together.
John had the day off work because he wanted to relax and help with the party. He also had tomorrow off too, so Duke could change him into a Vampire. He was nervous, but John was trying not to think about it.
The boys walked hand in hand down the corridor. Last night, Vinny talked with Oliver and asked about his opinions on his anger issues.
Oliver explained that it wasn't a problem, and he wouldn't change anything about Vinny. It could be worse. He could be like scarlet and never apologise, be extremely nasty to people and rude. Vinny wasn't like her. He wasn't malicious; he was just grumpy and would never be as cruel as his sister, even when he was at his worst. Oliver then proceeded to tell Vinny everything he loved about him before they joked around and made fun of each other.
When the boys entered the kitchen, Vinny glared around which captured the attention of the staff. "You," Vinny said in a deep voice, singling out a woman with wine glasses, "are there any free tables?"
"Um, yes of course!" she said quickly before turning around and hurrying towards the restaurant.
The booth that the boys usually sat in was empty, so Vinny led Oliver in that direction. Weaving their way through busy tables while holding hands caused quite the stir. The boys sat extremely close, and Vinny put his arm around his soulmate's shoulders. The public, as usual, was very excited and started staring and talking about them. Oliver was pretty much used to the attention.
"What would you like to drink?" the woman asked politely.
"Can I get some water please?" Oliver asked. He knew that he would be drinking alcohol at the party.
"Of course. And for you, Master?" She turned to look at Vinny because he wasn't staring at her. Vinny was watching Oliver with a softer expression.
"The same, please," he said, without taking his gaze away from the boy with pretty green eyes.
"I'll be back in a moment," she smiled before spinning lightly on her heels and rushing towards the kitchen.
"You're so beautiful," Vinny mumbled like he only meant to say it in his head. Oliver made eye contact, and his cheeks were on the brink of blushing, but he tried not to get too flushed.
"Thank you," he said with a charming smile. "And you're really hot."
Vinny scoffed but took the compliment and tried to return the smile. He could only smirk. "That, I am," he said before moving closer to Oliver.
"Wait I forgot to add something," Oliver said as his heart fluttered. "You're also really big-headed."
Vinny watched in amusement as Oliver chuckled at his own words. "Well yes. I am a vampire after all."
Before they could say more, two glasses of water clunked against the table.
"Thank you," Oliver said and reached for the menu. He glanced around to see eager eyes and heard hushed mumbling. "So um, my dad decided to take your dad's offer about getting turned," Oliver said and started playing with Vinny's fingers to distract himself.
"He did? That's great," Vinny said. He knew Oliver wanted his dad to make the change because he didn't want him to miss out on everything Oliver would go through, now that he had a long life. Vinny didn't want Oliver to go through life without his parent.
"Yeah, I'm relieved," Oliver smiled. "But how does it work?" The topic was something Oliver knew little about because he thought that if a vampire were to bite someone, they would turn. Vinny bit him, and he was still human.
"For a human to turn, they have to drink vampire blood."
"Oh," Oliver said with interest, "but, what happens after that? Is it painful? How long does it take?"
"The process is uncomfortable. The person getting turned will feel pain in their joints, their mouth and their head. It takes up to about three to four hours for the transformation to finish. When it does, the newly turned vampire will immediately drink two pints of human blood because it's all their body will crave."
Oliver listened with care. His dad was going through the process tomorrow. He was nervous for him. "Weird," Oliver mumbled. "I didn't know much about Vampires until I met you."
"I know. I remember you asking me, the first day we connected the bond," Vinny said. He also remembered Oliver asking if they would sleep in the same bed. Vinny thought back to his mixture of nerves and excitement.
"I was so clueless. I had no idea what I just walked into," Oliver chuckled.
"I can imagine that it's still unusual for you." Vinny lifted his hand and moved some of Oliver's hair from his face.
"Yeah, I just never thought it would happen." Oliver had his life planned out, and it was a simple one. The bond had shown him just how much life could alter and change in such a short space of time. New people came and went so quickly.
"But it did. And I have you to spend the rest of my life with," Vinny said, sighing happily and feeling the lightness of love in his chest.
His words were a wake-up call for Oliver. Vinny would be with him forever too. They would get married and probably adopt kids. They would experience what life had to offer as they grew old together. Oliver couldn't be happier. "You're mine forever?" he said like he was only just realising it.
Vinny moved his head closer and pressed his lips to Oliver's ear. "I'm all yours."
Shivers ran down Oliver's spine as Vinny traced his nose against Oliver's temple before planting a long kiss onto his cheek. Oliver rested his head into it and smiled. He could feel Vinny's love for him, and it was pulsing between their souls.
"I can't wait to show you off to my family," Vinny mumbled lowly, resting his forehead against Oliver's temple.
"I can't wait to meet them."
They were silent for a moment, treasuring each other's presence before Oliver turned his head, so their noses touched. There was no better feeling than Vinny's comfort. The strong wave of affection washed through them again.
Vinny stared at his mouth while moving closer until their lips brushed together.
Oliver then leaned harder against him to seal their lips. He couldn't hold it back any longer; he had to kiss him; he had to feel Vinny's soft lips move with his. Oliver had to breathe in his addicting scent.
Vinny tightened his grip around Oliver's shoulders and pulled his chest against him.
The restaurant was almost silent before everyone started talking, making a fuss, and yanking their phones out to see who could sell it the newspapers first.
Vinny and Oliver were lost in their own little world. They didn't care that they were surrounded by people who would do anything just to talk to them. Their lips moved delicately together as the boys wrapped their arms around each other. Their affection was growing deeper the more intimate they became. After the shower, they felt like the bond knitted even tighter together. It was like their bodies were screaming for them to go all the way and take the next step in their relationship.
The girl who had served them was awkwardly hovering and waiting until the boys pulled apart. She would rather get sacked than interrupt them. Though, she thought that Vinny would fire her if she did interrupt them.
Oliver's mind wouldn't let him pull the kiss deeper. He was aware that he was in a room full of people, even if his soulmate engulfed him. Vinny felt his kisses getting slower, but he followed his lead and kissed back as gently as his lips would allow him to go.
They eventually separated, and Oliver felt happy and complete. He could feel Vinny and his wise soul flowing through his bones as he placed one final kiss on his lips. "You know what Vinny?" he said quietly. "I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you." Oliver felt how much his words meant to him.
"And just when I thought I couldn't be more in love with you."
Oliver beamed with joy.
"Can I take your order?" the girl's voice broke their love-filled trance.
The boys hadn't even looked at the menu, but Vinny remembered what they had last time, so ordered that. Vinny was aware that after they eat, they would have a lot of spare time to waste before the party. Their affection was growing, and they had only one thing on their mind.
Vinny was concerned that his parents would never learn how to knock and respect his privacy. Surely they would try a little harder, now that Duke knew Oliver and himself were clearly getting closer. Vinny did say that he would need a bit of time until they reached that stage, but Oliver had made him very comfortable. Oliver had given him time; he was prepared to be patient and go steady.
Vinny knew that because he wasn't pushed in to a serious relationship, he wouldn't mind getting serious now. It was a decision that he had to make by himself. Vinny felt that he was ready, and Oliver could feel it too.
