John didn't hesitate to storm up to Vinny and Oliver's room after he washed his face. He was in a desperate need to apologise.
Vinny had cleaned his knuckles, they were bruised but he'd get over it.
He followed John down the hall as they approached the room.
When he opened the door, Duke and Madison turned. They were standing at the foot of the bed as Oliver sat casually against the headboard.
Oliver watched his dad walk right up to him, he barely had a chance to process the bruises on his face before he was engulfed into a strong hug.
He was shocked. He didn't think he would be talking to him at all today, let alone giving him a hug.
But he didn't hesitate for too long before wrapping his arms around him too. He couldn't describe how happy he suddenly felt.
Vinny walked over and squeezed in-between his parents. He was feeling very grateful to have them.
He wouldn't hug them or even smile at them but for him to stand really close was enough and he knew it would make them happy.
Duke looked at Vinny's bruised knuckles as Madison linked arms with his.
"Do I want to know?" He asked quietly.
Vinny looked at him and nodded to say yes.
"He can't remember a thing," He said in a hushed tone.
Duke frowned at him.
"The last thing he remembered was being in the hospital just after he had his heart attack. He doesn't remember trying to drink Oliver's blood or even coming home this morning" Vinny said. "He literally just snapped out of it"
Madison watched John for a second.
"That angry side of him, he can't remember any of it?" She asked.
"No, he didn't even know why he was in the gym"
Duke deepened his frown as he also watched John.
"It must have been a side effect, from not getting the blood he wanted" That was the only logical explanation for why he couldn't remember. He must have still been in a different mindset when he woke up. But it was strange, Duke has never heard about that ever happening before.
"Oliver please forgive me," John said as he pulled his head back. "I'm so, so sorry. For everything. For trying to drink your blood, for nearly dying on you and for being horrible to you this morning. I can't believe-"
"Dad" Oliver interrupted as he looked at his bruised face. "I forgive you"
John then pulled him back into another hug, but Oliver let his gaze wander over to Vinny's bruised knuckles.
He didn't know how he felt about the current situation. Clearly, Vinny had hurt him and got him to snap out of his mood, but Oliver didn't like that he had done that.
Vinny could see him looking at his hands and he could feel his mixed emotions.
Yes, they couldn't physically be angry at each other but that doesn't mean they don't have their different opinions.
Oliver then closed his eyes and hugged his dad tighter. Yesterday morning, he never thought he would be able to hug him ever again.
His familiar smell that reminded him of his childhood, home and safety were all he could ask for at this moment.
He was so happy his dad was back to normal.
John rubbed his son's back for a moment longer before pulling away.
"You've been through so much," He said. "I'm so sorry for putting you through all of that" He could see that Oliver had been through a rough time, he still looked very tired.
"It's okay now dad. You're alive and that's all I care about" Oliver smiled.
Vinny could feel Oliver's happiness spreading through his chest but he could tell he wanted to talk about his violence.
"John, it's good to have you back" Duke smiled as they watched him stand back up.
"Yeah, It's nice to be back but I think I'm a bit behind on my days" John smiled.
Oliver stood up too and watched Vinny.
It has almost been two hours and they were needing to make that physical touch.
"Are you feeling fit enough to go back to the gym? Vinny and I can teach you more things about yourself now" He asked.
"Yeah sure, I feel like I'm healing already," John said as Madison gave him a warm smile.
"Boy's are you both ready?" He asked as Oliver walked over to Vinny.
"Just give us a minute," Vinny said, making them nod their heads.
"Alright, we'll see you down there," Madison said before turning and following Duke and John out of the room.
When the door shut behind them, Oliver reached out and took hold of Vinny's hands.
Instant relief spread through them at the feel of each other's skin.
"I'm sorry, I know he is your dad but I saw no other way," Vinny said as Oliver stepped closer.
"Did he hit you?" Oliver asked.
"Yes. But I admit that I didn't need to go that far, he made me angry and I lashed out"
Oliver nodded. He understands that Vinny can't help his anger but when it comes to a family member, he would prefer him to find a less violent way.
"But you changed him. I was listening to what you were saying to Duke. He seriously can't remember?" He asked.
Vinny shook his head.
"Wow Okay" Oliver wondered why that had happened but he didn't think too much about it. He needed to let Vinny know that he was forgiven. "So yes, I don't agree with you hitting my dad but under the circumstances, I'll let it go. he'll be fine by tonight anyway"
Vinny stepped closer until their chests touched, making their faces close.
"I'm sorry," He said as Oliver let go of his hands and wrapped his arms around his waist.
"Did you apologise to him?" He asked whilst gazing at Vinny's lips.
"Yes," Vinny said before moving forwards and resting his forehead against his.
"Well then... I forgive you" Oliver whispered.
Vinny then pulled him into a tight hug.
He buried his face into the side of his neck and took in his scent.
Oliver did the same and closed his eyes.
"But thank you," He said. "for making him back to normal"
Vinny rubbed his back and squeezed him tighter, before pulling away.
"I don't like angry John," He said, making Oliver smile.
"I don't think anyone does"
Vinny then took Oliver's hand and started pulling him out of the bedroom.
* * * * *
Oliver had never been in the Gym before, he has only walked past it. But it was huge and he should've expected it to look as grand as it did.
He was sitting on the floor with Madison, they were out of the way and were watching everyone else.
"So, obviously you don't remember what Vinny taught you," Duke said as he started rolling up his shirt sleeves like Vinny had.
"I don't remember a thing," John said.
"I didn't really teach you anything anyway" Vinny mumbled as Duke stretched.
"Right, one thing that is good to learn is speed movement," Duke said as he grinned at his son. "Watch"
Everyone watched as Duke raced almost faster than light. He stopped in front of Vinny and pushed him over.
Vinny flew backwards and landed on the floor, in front of Oliver and Madison.
He knew that was going to happen.
Oliver raised his eyebrows as Vinny laid there for a few second. He could feel that he wasn't injured but he didn't realise they were going to be so rough with each other.
"So" Duke continued as Vinny got up off the floor and walked back over to him. "At first, it requires a lot of concentration. How's your strength?"
"Uh, I'm not sure," John said as Duke pushed Vinny towards him.
"Vinny will be our dummy. Test your strength on him"
Vinny gave his dad an unimpressed expression but stepped in front of John.
"Go on," Duke said. "just push him, he doesn't mind"
Oliver could feel Vinny's annoyance and he was trying to keep in a laugh.
"Uh..." John stared at Vinny who shrugged and crossed his arms.
"It's fine, I don't care" He grumbled.
"Alright," He said before stepping forwards.
"You have to really use it," Duke said as Vinny just stood there.
John lifted his hands and took a breath.
Oliver watched with interest as his dad prepared himself.
He then jumped forwards and pushed Vinny, but he only stumbled back a couple of steps.
"You're holding back," Vinny said as he uncrossed his arms. "You have that power in you, I've seen it"
John nodded and took another breath.
He lifted his hands again and lunged forwards.
This time, Vinny felt the pressure in his chest as John pushed him with a lot of force.
Vinny flew further than what Duke had pushed him and he crashed into the bike machine.
He fell over the side of it and knocked the other one over as he landed against it.
Duke watched with wide eyes as Vinny rolled onto the floor.
He groaned and watched Oliver get up and walk over to him.
"Are you okay?" He asked. He looked a little worried.
"Yes," He breathed as he put a hand on his chest. John winded him a little.
"I'm so sorry Vinny," John said as Duke looked at him with a smile.
"He'll be fine," He said but watched as Oliver helped his son up. "Have a rest for a minute"
Vinny went over and sat down on the floor with Madison and his soulmate.
"So, how did that feel?" He asked John.
Vinny then zoned out to what they were saying and pulled Oliver into him.
"Kiss me Oliver" He whispered, making him turn.
He frowned but then remembered about their little deal.
"Wait, no... not here," He said as Vinny put an arm around his shoulders.
"yes, here," He said as he cupped Oliver's chin with his other hand.
Madison knew what was about to happen and she was doing her best to contain her excitement. She loved it when her son got affectionate like this. It was so nice to see that he didn't care about what anybody thought of their relationship.
"There's still a lot of snow out there" He whispered but he could feel that Oliver really wanted to kiss him too.
"You're a terrible person" Oliver mumbled.
Vinny quietly scoffed but brought his head in closer and he didn't stop until their lips connected.
As soon as Oliver felt Vinny's smooth and warm lips on his, he realised that he did actually really need a kiss from his soulmate.
Vinny immediately pulled the kiss deeper. He did say that they had to passionately kiss. Also, he was still in a very loving mood.
Oliver pushed into him and wrapped his arms around Vinny's waist.
He went with the flow of kissing with more passion, but thankfully it wasn't as deep as what they have previously gone.
Vinny lifted a hand and rested it on the side of Oliver's face.
As usual, the warmth flowed between them as they cherished one another's taste and close contact.
Vinny tightened his grip on Oliver's shoulder's, making their chests connect together.
Their kisses were meaningful as he couldn't stop himself from tangling his hand into the back of Oliver's hair.
They continued to kiss as Duke double took at their make out session.
He gazed at Madison who was getting overly excited. He gave her a smile, loving it when she does that.
That big wave of affection washed through the boys as Oliver tried to resist climbing on top of his vampire, but he wanted to be much closer.
It was almost like Vinny knew what he was thinking and pulled him onto his lap.
Oliver wrapped his legs around Vinny's waist and pushed their chests together once more.
They continued to kiss with a hint of passion.
They both wanted to pull it much deeper, but there's a limit to what they should go when they have company.
Eventually, they started to slow down the kiss until it was gentle pecks on the lips.
Vinny let go of Oliver's hair and ran his hands softly down his back.
They then planted one last long kiss on each other's lips before pulling back.
They opened their eyes to see the love pouring through their expression. They were breathing heavier than normal as Oliver gave his soulmate a warm smile.
"Okay, that wasn't so bad," He said quietly, making Vinny return the smile.
He then crossed his legs so Oliver was sitting in-between them.
"Just wait till lunchtime," He said with a hint of amusement showing in his eyes.
"Why?" Oliver questioned but his mind then clicked on. "Wait... are we having lunch in a public place?"
Vinny didn't say anything but the cheeky smile that was growing on his face was enough for Oliver to drop his head forwards and onto his soulmates chest.
"I can't really complain" He mumbled. He was going to be making out with Vinny a lot today... but in the eyes of many random people.
"Oliver, come here" He then heard Duke say, making him turn with a questioning frown.
As he went to get up, Vinny tightened his arms around Oliver's waist.
"Vinny, if you don't let him go, I'll get John to throw you into the rowing machines"
Madison chuckled but Vinny glared at his dad.
Hesitantly, he let his soulmate go.
His body felt cold when Oliver got up from his lap but a big smile from him lightened his eyes.
He then watched as he walked over to Duke.
He had dragged a mat over for Oliver, knowing he gets injured a lot easier than what a vampire does.
"Right, stand here," He said as Oliver did what he said.
"Please don't hurt me, I have so much to live for," He said, making Vinny hold in a chuckle.
Duke laughed and took hold of his shoulder.
"I won't," He said before looking at John.
"Right, this is a move that is very useful for self-defence" Duke was going to teach John how to defend himself and fight against people who may be a threat to his family.
He would need to use them. The people in this world can sometimes be dangerous and unpredictable. The quicker he knows how to fight like him and Vinny, the better.
Oliver thought Duke would tell him when he was ready... but no.
Without warning, he bent his arm around his back and flipped him over, making him land with a thud on his back.
Vinny tensed as he watched to see if Oliver was okay. Of course, he was, he just gets overly protective about him.
"See" Duke smiled as Oliver laid there with a confused frown. He held out his hand and pulled the human up. "Okay John, you try"
Everyone watched as John walked over and also held onto Oliver's shoulder.
"Bend his arm like this," Duke said, showing him what to do.
John did what he said and bent it back.
"Right, and then flip him"
Oliver braced himself as he felt his dad hesitate.
John decided to just go for it. But he isn't used to his new strengths and flipped Oliver round and made him land heavily on his back.
He missed the mat and knocked all the air out of his lungs.
"Oh, That hurt" Oliver breathed and curled up into a little ball.
"Oh god, I'm sorry Oliver," John said with worried eyes as Vinny quickly got up and walked over.
"It's fine, I Just... I need air" Oliver breathed whilst clutching his chest.
Vinny knelt down and scooped him up in his arms.
"No more," He said bluntly before carrying his winded soulmate towards the door.
Duke looked at Madison who shared the same little smile.
They like how protective their son is for the person he loves.
Vinny didn't look back as he pushed the door open and walked out the room with Oliver in his arms.
"Do I weigh nothing to you?" Oliver questioned sarcastically as he rubbed his chest.
"No," Vinny said whilst ignoring Jed and continuing down the corridor. "Are you okay?"
Oliver smiled and kissed his cheek. "I'm fine Vinny."
