"What does heaven look like?" Oliver asked. He was sitting with Vinny on the couch, opposite Jed.
"It's different for everyone. When you go to heaven, you'll see it how you'd imagine your paradise or your dreams" Jed said as he linked his fingers together.
"Do you see it as your paradise or do all angels see it the same?" He asked.
"Angels see it the same. Humans and Vampires have their own ideas on how heaven looks and it is very stereotypical. It's white... very white and nothing really makes massive amounts of sense. If you need a hospital, you will find yourself in a hospital room. If you need a garden, you'll be in a garden" It was hard explaining it for the first time.
"Oh so, what you think you need will appear?" Oliver asked.
Jed nodded. He was happy that he understood so easily.
Can I touch your wing now?" Oliver then asked. "But if that makes you uncomfortable then it's fine, you don't have to let me. You can even tell me to stop asking questions... I know I've asked a lot"
Vinny watched his soulmate as he spoke. They both felt their affection constantly circling their hearts and it was so hard for him to hold back a kiss.
"Don't worry about it, it's only normal for you to ask questions. And I know if I don't let you touch my wings then you'll keep asking until I do" Jed chuckled before standing up.
Oliver stayed sitting down as he began to see the white glow appear, just in case he did the same as last time and became too overwhelmed.
Madison, John, and Duke were sitting at the table. They had asked Jed all they needed to know and were now processing it all until it had sunken in properly, which it was starting to.
They turned and gawped at Jed's magnificent wings once more. That is a sight nobody would get used to.
Oliver felt an emotion wash through him as he stared at the creamy feathers.
He was still incredibly shocked to see them just appear like that, but curiosity got the better of him.
Slowly, he stood up.
Vinny stared at Jed's wings but he was more concentrated on his soulmate as he walked closer.
"Are you sure it's okay?" Oliver asked when he stopped almost a foot away.
"Oliver, it's fine" Jed smiled. He couldn't understand how crazy this must be for everyone.
Now that he definitely had the go ahead, Oliver reached his hand out until the tips of his fingers brushed against the perfect white feathers.
He flinched at first but was surprised to feel that they were warm and incredibly soft.
He traced his fingers so delicately across a few more feathers as Jed tried to stay still but it was tickling him.
Oliver then pulled his hand back and let a steady breath out.
"Thanks" He breathed before turning and sitting down close, next to Vinny. He was still very overcome with it all but he was getting there.
Jed put his wings away but didn't sit back down.
"If you don't mind, I must get back to my job," He said kindly.
"Thank you for being so patient" Vinny then said.
The bodyguard has sat through a lot of questions and answered them with a lot of content.
"You're welcome. I'm happy things are now out in the open. But just like I told your parents, you can't tell anyone else about this. It has to be strictly between us, okay?" He asked.
"Of course," The boys said in unison.
Jed then showed them one last smile before turning and walking out the room.
They stared at the door for a few moments before Oliver turned and pressed a long kiss onto his vampire's cheek.
Vinny rested into it, he was craving the soft feel of Oliver's lips so much.
"What a crazy day" He mumbled.
"I know," Oliver said as he almost got lost in Vinny's chocolate brown eyes. "It has been pretty eventful"
Vinny watched as Oliver's smile grew playful.
He bit down on his bottom lip at the thought of the special moment they shared together.
"It has," He said before letting his gaze wander to Oliver's mouth.
"Oliver, It's bribing time" Madison then shouted over.
Vinny sighed and dropped his head back against the couch.
"I'm not being part of this"
Oliver chuckled before getting up. He went to walk past Vinny but he slyly put his foot out and made him trip. He only stumbled a few steps but managed to shoot his soulmate a frown, which Vinny loved.
He then continued to walk over to the table.
He sat down next to his dad.
"Right," Madison said as she sat forwards. "I'll tell you funny stories about Vinny when he was a child if-"
"Deal" Oliver interrupted, making them chuckle.
"So, was that the first time for you both?" She asked.
Oliver nodded but he could feel himself getting embarrassed.
"And how was it?" Madison was happy that at least one of them would talk to her about it.
"Honestly, it was amazing. We were both a little nervous but now that we've done it, we feel really official as a couple"
Duke smiled. Oliver really is the perfect soulmate for his son.
"That's sweet" Madison smiled. "I'm glad you could both share that and it's so nice to see you have now gone all the way and fully committed yourselves to each other"
Oliver couldn't help but smile. He was incredibly happy that Vinny Vanderwood, the love of his life was the one he was most devoted to.
Madison then realised that she didn't have as many questions as she thought. Mainly because Jed kept wandering into her mind.
"So, are you coping okay with this angel business?" John asked. He too couldn't stop thinking about it.
"Yeah I guess so, I don't think it has sunken in properly, though. It'll probably take a while for me to wrap my head around it" Oliver said truthfully. "Are you?"
"I'm in the same boat as you son," John said before ruffling his hair.
Oliver then turned to see what his soulmate was up to and just as he expected, he was already staring at him.
"It's not too late to join the conversation" He grinned.
"No," Vinny said bluntly before crossing his arms.
"Well then, I'll bring the conversation to you," Oliver said before getting up and walking over.
"Oliver no" Vinny sighed but his soulmate could feel his amusement.
"God, you're such a vampire," He said whilst shaking his head and plopping himself onto Vinny's lap.
"You have a stereotype for Vampires now?" He questioned whilst coiling his arms around Oliver's waist, pulling him even closer.
"No, I was just trying to be clever," He said truthfully.
Vinny scoffed and pulled his soulmates back into his chest but Oliver fell to the side of him and leant his face in close.
They both stared lovingly into one another's eyes, feeling the sudden jolt of comfort.
Today has been a special day.
It was one which made the boys realise that they are together forever, no matter what.
Throughout their lives, they will never miss a day in the life of the person they love so dearly. they'll do everything together and live every moment, feeling one another's presence.
They are set and combined right to the very core.
"I love you" Oliver whispered before edging his face in close until their noses touched.
Vinny leant his forehead against his, feeling his warmth and taking in his scent.
"I love you too, Olive"
Oliver chuckled but didn't pull back.
"That's not catching on and it never will"
"It'll catch on," Vinny said confidently as he felt Oliver play with the bottom of his waistcoat.
Oliver sighed but he didn't really mind if it did. He liked that his soulmate made a nickname for him, even if the reasons behind it were ridiculous.
"I need to think of one for you," He said.
"Well don't strain yourself, you've got many years to think"
That realisation hit their chests hard.
They have thousands of years to be together and enjoy life through each other's eyes.
It's something they couldn't wait to do and something that made Oliver feel very blessed and very privileged.
He was granted such a long life and he knew that not a second would be wasted because every day, he now has the pleasure of spending it,
Right by Vinny's side.
