: HalfâBrother Astridâs POV My brow furrowed in bewilderment when I heard his name. No hint of familiarity or recognition crossed my face after he had mentioned that his name is Andros.
Iâve been the Silvermoon Packâs Luna for so many years and Iâve met many special and important people as one, but Iâve never heard the name âAndrosâ my entire life.
As my Luna, it was my job to widen our Packâs connection and meet new people. âAndrosâ is a name that was never in my list.
He said I should know who he is, but his name doesnât even sound familiar to me at all even though itâs a pretty common name.
âYou,â he spat, the words dripping with contempt. âYou should know me.â he fixed me with an accusatory glare.
He must have felt offended that his name didnât gain the reaction he expected from me.
My mind raced, struggling to make sense of this confrontation. I donât know him, nor do I know why he harbors such hatred towards me. Has he mistaken me for someone else?
However, he knew what my name was.
âIâm sorry, but I donât believe weâve met,â I replied cautiously, my mind racing to make sense of the confrontation.
âDonât play dumb with me, woman,â he growled, his eyes arrowing to slits. âI know all about you affair with my father.â
I had no idea whether to deny his words or laugh at the absurdity of it. Me? Having an affair with his father? Just look how old is he, his father could be double my age. Iâm not the type of woman who dates older me who has children my age.
âI have no idea what youâre talking about,â I finally managed to voice out with indignation after feg offended by his accusation. âI donât even know you and I surely donât know who your father is. Iâm sure I havenât met your father.â
The stranger scoffed at my words his lip curling in disdain. âYou are staying in our Pack, and you say that you have never met my father? Do you really think I would believe a stupid answer as that?â
My cheeks flushed with a mixture of embarrassment and anger. This is the first time I ever went out of my room to enjoy myself and he had ruined it.
Without any idea, he just approached me and started picking up a fight against me. He is insisting things that I had no idea of what heâs talking about.
I swallowed hard and met his gaze to show how sincere I am in telling the truth. âI can assure you, sir, I have done no such things,â I retorted, my tone laced with offense, but still I spoke with respect even though he didnât deserve it.
The strangerâs eyes flickered as my words momentarily pierced through his resolve. He must have seen the sincerity in my eyes and heard the truth in my words. However, that wasnât enough to make him stop believing what he believes in.
He remained unconvinced. He still thinks that I was simply playing the part of the innocent bystander, hoping to conceal the scandalous affair that he talks about.
âHow would you expect me to believe that?â he sneered at me. The rumors about your affair with my father have been spreading like wildfire. It got so bad that this news even reached me so I had to rush back.
People are laughing at my father behind our backs. You are destroying our clean reputation with your scandalous actions.â
My heart raced inside me, a strange cocktail of emotions swirled within me. âWhat rumors?â I asked as I squinted my eyes at him.
Andros scoffed, shaking his head in disbelief. âDo you take me for a fool?â he demanded, his tone dripping with contemot. âThe gossip has spread far ad wide â your name is on the lips of every person in our community including the outside Packs.â
My brows furrowed, a flicker of confusion crossed my features. If rumor has truly been circulating around us, then how come I have never heard a word about it?
I fell silent and narrowed my eyes on Andros as I thought about whether believing his words or not. He could be exaggerating his words or he could also be lying about it so he could get out the truth from me âWho is your father exactly?â I finally asked him. He kept talking about his father and I realized that he hadnât even mentioned a name at all.
Andros gave me a long look, hesitating to tell me what his fatherâs name was. He must be thinking that I was only playing with him.
âAndros, youâve mentioned your father several times now, but youâve never actually told me his name,â added with a calm and measured voice. âJust tell me who your father is.â
Androsâs eyes narrowed, and for a moment, I thought I saw a flicker of uncertainty cross his features. âMy father,â he began, his words laced with a hint of reluctance, âis Alpha Theron.â
My eyes widened in surprise, the realization dawning on me like a thunderclap. A rumor that Theron and I are having an affair is spreading on around us?
How come Iâve only heard about this now? For sure, Alpha Theron had already found out about this. He has a lot of men working under him they must have reported this rumor to him already.
âAlpha Theron?â I repeated, my voice tinged with disbelief. âHe is your father?â I questioned him âNow you know what Iâm talking about?â Andros spoke indifferently.
I stood in tense silence in front of him now that I have realized that the person standing in front of me is actually my halfâbrother that I never knew I had.
Iâve met Asha, and I knew she was Alpha Theronâs only daughter, but I never knew about the rest of Ashaâs siblings.
