The night was still, only the hum of the engines and the occasional rustle of leaves disturbed the eerie silence. It's been over 14 hours since Siya’s kidnapping.

Raghav, Rudra, and Vasu had spent hours tracking Siya’s location. The GPS coordinates were clear, but the forest surrounding them was dense and foreboding, and they knew they were running out of time.

Rudra’s grip tightened around the steering wheel as he glanced at Raghav. “We’re close,” he muttered, his voice steady but with an undercurrent of urgency.

Raghav nodded, his eyes scanning the darkened road ahead. “We have to hurry. Durjoy won’t wait much longer.”

Vasu, sitting beside Raghav, checked his phone once again. “The police are on their way. We need to stay on schedule, or they’ll have the advantage.”

Raghav’s mind raced, but his thoughts always returned to Siya. He had promised to protect her, no matter the cost. And now, as they neared the location, the fear that he might lose her forever gnawed at him, tightening his chest.

As they reached a clearing, the headlights from the car illuminated a secluded building—an old warehouse of sorts, isolated from the town. Raghav’s heart skipped a beat. This was it.

“We’re here,” Vasu said, his voice tense. “The police are almost at the perimeter. We need to act fast.”

Before Raghav could respond, a voice crackled through the radio. It was distorted, but unmistakable.

"Don't move a single inch."

Raghav froze. The hairs on the back of his neck stood up as the sound of footsteps echoed in the distance. Then, through the shadows, Durjoy Singh appeared. He walked out of the warehouse, his expression twisted in dark delight. In one hand, he gripped Siya by the arm, her face pale and strained. On the other hand, he held a gun, pointed directly at her head.

Raghav’s blood ran cold. He felt his breath hitch in his throat, a mix of panic and fury igniting in his chest.

Durjoy’s lips curled into a menacing smile. “Well, well, if it isn’t Raghav Desai.” His voice dripped with disdain. “Desai’s precious son, thinking he could fix everything with a few lies, huh?”

Raghav’s fists clenched. He stepped out of the car. “Let her go, Durjoy. This has nothing to do with Siya.”

Durjoy’s eyes gleamed with malicious satisfaction. “Oh, but it does. You see, your father cheated me out of many deals. All this time, I’ve been patient, waiting for my due. And now, I’ve decided I’ll collect my payment. And you, Raghav, will be my compensation.”

Raghav’s voice trembled with barely contained rage. “What do you want? Money? You’ll get anything from me. Just leave Siya out of it.”

Durjoy let out a low, mocking laugh. “I want you, Raghav. It’s been a long time coming. Your father might have tried to play me, but I won’t let him get away with it. And as for your precious Siya… well, she’s just a little bonus for me.”

Raghav’s heart hammered in his chest. He wasn’t about to let this man control his fate. His voice was low but firm. “You think I care about money? You think you can scare me with your threats? I won’t let you harm her. You’ll have to kill me first.”

Vasu and Rudra immediately stepped forward, trying to pull him back. “Raghav, no! It’s a trap. He’s trying to provoke you.”

But Raghav shook his head, his eyes blazing with determination. “If it’s a trap, then let it be. I don’t care. I need to save Siya.”

Without another word, the once coward Raghav was now ready to become a warrior. He stepped out in front, his heart racing but his resolve unshaken. He couldn’t let this man win. He couldn’t let Durjoy take Siya from him.

Durjoy’s smile widened, a sense of victory radiating from him. “I knew you’d be foolish enough to walk right into this. But now, it’s your choice, Raghav. You walk away, or you face the consequences. Either way, your life is over.”

Raghav’s eyes locked onto Siya, who was barely holding herself up, her body trembling in Durjoy’s grasp. The blood oozing out of her wrist made him feel a fountain of lava inside him. He couldn’t lose her. Not now, not ever.

“What do you want, Durjoy?” Raghav asked, his voice steady despite the fear and anger bubbling inside him. “What do you need from me, you asshole?”

Durjoy’s face darkened. “I don’t need your money. I need you, dead, Raghav. Your father might have ruined me, but I’ll make sure you’re the one who pays for it.”

Raghav’s eyes narrowed, realization crashing into him like a wave. Durjoy was playing a dangerous game. This wasn’t about money. It was about revenge.

“I won’t give you what you want,” Raghav said, stepping forward again, his resolve growing stronger with every step. “But I will protect her. I will protect Siya with my life if I have to.”

Durjoy’s hand tightened around Siya’s arm, pulling her closer to him. He raised the gun, pointing it directly at Raghav’s chest. “I’m not asking, Raghav. You’ll make your choice now.”

For a brief moment, time seemed to stand still. Raghav stood tall, refusing to back down, despite the cold barrel of the gun aimed at him. His heart was pounding, but he knew what he had to do. He had to protect the one he loved, tremendously.

Suddenly, Siya’s voice broke through the tension, weak and filled with fear. “Raghav… please don’t…”

Her words cut through him like a blade, and his chest tightened with the weight of her pain. He could feel the love he stored, the bond that had grown between them despite all odds. He wasn’t going to let her down. Not Today. Not now.

But without thinking, biting Durjoy’s hand with all the strength she had left, Siya lunged forward. Durjoy hissed in pain, momentarily losing his grip. At that moment, Siya tried to break free, running toward Raghav.

But Durjoy’s rage flared. With a cold sneer, he raised his gun, “What a bunch of fools”, and fired. The deafening crack of the gunshot echoed through the night.

Two bullets found their mark. One grazed Siya’s side, and the other struck her in the back of her shoulder. She gasped in pain, her body crumpling as she collapsed into Raghav’s arms.

“SIYA!” Raghav screamed, his voice raw with terror and grief. He caught her, his hands shaking as he tried to stop the bleeding. Blood soaked through his fingers, and panic surged through him.

“Stay with me, Siya! Please!” he cried, his voice desperate. “I won’t let you go. I won’t lose you!”

Siya’s eyes fluttered open, and she smiled weakly, her voice barely a whisper. “Raghav… I… I… I knew you’d come for me…”

Tears welled up in Raghav’s eyes as he kissed her forehead, his heart shattering in his chest. “Don’t say that. You’re going to be okay. Just stay with me, Siya. Stay with me…”

But her breaths grew shallow, her grip on him weakening. He pressed harder on the wounds, but the blood wouldn’t stop flowing.

Raghav’s world was crashing down around him. He had promised to protect her, but he hadn’t been able to save her from this.

“Please… please don’t leave me,” he sobbed, cradling her in his arms, the sound of the police sirens growing louder in the distance.

By the time the police arrived, it was too late to save her. Durjoy had already been apprehended, laughing maniacally as the officers pulled him away.

Rudra rushed toward Raghav, his eyes widening in horror as he saw Siya lying motionless in Raghav’s arms. “No, no, Siya, please…Gauri would kill you if you died here” Rudra whispered, falling to his knees beside them.

Raghav looked up, his face pale and tear-streaked. He was broken, devastated, but the fire in his eyes burned brighter than ever.

“She’s still breathing,” Rudra shouted, his voice filled with hope. He pressed his fingers to Siya’s pulse, his eyes meeting Raghav’s. “She’s still alive. We can still save her.”

Raghav’s heart skipped a beat. He wasn’t ready to lose her. Not like this.

“Get the ambulance, now!” he yelled, his voice hoarse. “Don’t let her die… not now. Not after everything.”

As the police moved in to apprehend Durjoy and take him into custody, Raghav’s eyes never left Siya. She was still fighting, and so was he. He would never give up on her. Not ever.

"Stay with me, Siya. Please…”

Fate played its game. But it's interesting to see who is going to lose or win.
