I am the Cinderella in the play of my life. I live in a big mansion with a cruel step mother. But there's a twist to my story. Unlike Cinderella, I have the most lovable brother in the whole world. I am definitely not waiting for my prince charming but who knows I might have a shot at love.
I woke up and took a shower. I wore a pair of ripped jeans and an oversized t-shirt. I wore a silver chain and I was all ready to go.
I went down for breakfast.
Welcome to hell!
"What are you wearing?" My step mother asked and gave me a disgusted look.
Her name is Lucy. No doubt she was a seductress and her fake personality made everyone thought she was the kindest of all.
Only if they knew.
"Clothes" I murmured. I didn't even look at her.
"What did you said just now?" She asked. Her face plastered with an ugly grown.
"Nothing ma'am." I replied
"Do the dishes after eating." She said and pulled me by my hair.
I screamed in pain.
"Oh and redo your hair. You look like some homeless street girl." She said and was about to insult me one more time when my brother entered.
"Don't touch my sister." He yelled at her.
Daniel is my step brother. He's not like my step mom at all. I love him a lot. Also, he hates his mother. Dan always treated me like his own little sister. He always protected me from his own mother.
"How dare you hurt my sister!" He said. He glared at her. He pulled me behind him.
"She deserves it." She said and looked at me as if I was some sort of garbage.
"We all know who deserves this treatment." He said without even hesitating once.
He looked at his mother with pure hatred. She not only treated me like this but she was never there for him as his mother ever since his childhood. He even stopped calling her mom a long time ago.
"You cannot talk to your mother like that." She yelled at him.
"Mrs. Lucy Carter, if you ever think about hurting my sister, I will forget that you gave birth to me." He yelled.
"Behave yourself. You are my son." She said.
"You are not my mother, you just want my money!" He said.
He is the heir of his father's company. That's why she's still referring to him as son. I can't believe woman like her exist in this world.
So cruel, yet so proud of herself.
"Dan, I misbehaved. She was just-" I interrupted.
I gave him a reassuring look.
"You are very kind to her." He said.
It was wrong to speak to your mother like that. But not in Dan's case. She killed his father, his husband for his money and tried to throw herself at someone else. She killed him but no evidence was found. Daniel knew about it.
Why did she kill him? Because she was obsessed with that man but he never noticed her. He had a loving family. She couldn't see him being happy with another woman. And she killed him.
She married my father when I was 9. My father wanted me to grow up with a loving mother.
But the luck was not by our side. Dad died after few years when I was 11.
I tried to control the tears which were eagerly waiting to come out.
"Dan let's go." I said with watery eyes.
"She deserves the pain that she has caused others." He said and pulled me towards the car.
He drove me to the school. Now leaving all the dramas at home, let me introduce you to Dan.
He's one of the most popular guys in the whole school. Girls drool over his looks. But he doesn't even care.
He has been a protective brother since we went to school together. And I knew that no guy would dare ask me out just because of my over protective brother. I have a story based on this but well save it for next time.
"Hi sugar" a voice interrupted my thoughts.
"I know you missed me very much." He said. I rolled my eyes.
I turned to walk towards my classroom. But he blocked my way.
"Scott let me go." I said and I tried to push him away. He was solid as a hard rock.
"I will never let you go." He said teasingly.
"You're disgusting." I shouted.
Girls gave me death glares as they saw me with Scott and interrupted my little conversation with their weird looks. Yes you guessed it right. He's really good looking.
But guess what? He knows it.
"Your fan girls are not happy to see you with me." I said with an annoyed look on my face.
"Don't worry. You will be safe in my heart." He said and smirked at me.
"Shut up!" I rolled my eyes and pushed his arm. I went towards my classroom.
He is a flirting machine. Speaking of which, he is the most popular guy in the whole school. But only if his personality matched his look.
If only!
I took my seat. Nick came and sat near me as usual.
He's my best friend ever since we were 14. We have spent so much time together. He's like a brother to me.
"Hi Nick, what's up!" I asked.
"Nothing interesting. But it seemed like your morning was kinda interesting because of Scott." He said and gave me a smirk.
"He's disgusting." I said and rolled my eyes.
"I heard it sugar." He said and I turned around and saw he was sitting behind me.
"Can you sit there? I want to sit here. " He asked to Nick.
"Nope, I can't leave a beautiful princess with a dangerous beast." Nick said with a smirk.
He looked into my eyes.
"But a princess suits with beast. The beauty and the beast." He said but didn't turned to look at Nick. He was still looking into my eyes.
"I want a prince charming. So go away." I said.
"You finally have to abandon your search, see your Prince charming or should I say a guy hotter than him is here." He said with a cocky smirk plastered on his face.
I ignored him and looked at the teacher who was explaining something. I was really not interested.
The class was over soon. That amazing feeling!
I walked towards the cafeteria with Anne.
She is also my best friend. I sat at our usual table with Anne and Nick.
"So what happened?" She asked and gave me a questioning look.
"What happened?" I asked. I acted clueless.
"You in the morning with-" she said.
"Why the hell is everyone asking me about him! He's my brother's friend. That is the only reason I talk to him." I interrupted.
"I didn't mentioned his name." She said and laughed at me.
Damn it.
I saw Scott, Ryder, Daniel, Michael, James at the entrance.
Daniel sat near me and messed my hairs and pinched my cheeks.
"Hey lil sis!" he said.
"Hey bro!" I said.
Scott came and sat next to me. I was sitting between Daniel and Scott. Ryder and Michael sat next to Nick and James sat next to Anne.
James was a sweet guy. Ryder was the prankster and Michael was a great boy with good grades.
"Hello sugar." He said.
I ignored him for few minutes. He kept bothering me.
"I didn't know this annoying guy also sat here with us." I replied.
"Correct it sugar sexy guy. " He said with that usual smirk plastered on his face.
He's actually a sexy beast.
Shut up inner voice.
"Dan" I called.
"Yes?" he asked and his mouth was stuffed with food.
He's my step brother but our habits are same.
"Will you please come and sit in between?" I asked.
He gave Scott a death glare.
"If he will disturb you again I will surely smash his face. Okay?" He said and both Scott and Dan laugh.
"I hate you both." I said and folded my hands near my chest.
"But we love you." Scott said with a genuine smile.
My heart fluttered, a bit.
"Hey Ele, we are going for camping, will you go with us?" Ryder asked.
"Dan you didn't even tell me? " I raised an eyebrow at him.
"You're coming, obviously." He said and pulled me into a brotherly hug and messed with my hair.
"I don't have to ask you, if I wanna take you I will pick you and will throw you in the car." Scott said and winked at me.
"You are stupid." I said and looked away from him.
"I am not leaving you at home with that bitch. I am your brother, and I won't let my sister get hurt." Dan whispered in my ears.
"Let Anne come please Danny." I said.
"Don't call me that." Dan said.
"No" Michael said.
I don't know what's the problem but they fought with each other all the time.
"Michael, Anne will come." Dan said. Michael made a funny annoyed face.
"So the holidays are starting from tomorrow, we will leave tonight." He said.
"Tonight?" I asked.
"Yes tonight Sugar" he said. I gave him a I-didn't-ask-you-look.
I went back home with Dan. I was really excited.
I wore a pair of ripped jeans and a grey hoodie.
I went downstairs and I saw Lucy.
"Where are you going?" She asked.
"She's going with me for a week." Dan said.
She never disagreed Dan because he was the owner of the company.
"Okay son, take care of yourself." She said and gave him a fake smile.
Dan took me to his car.
"You'll be going with me Scott and Ryder. James, Michael, Nick and Anne are going in the other car." He said.
"Okay" I said and sat in the backseat.
Scott sat next to me. He brought his lips near my ears.
"It's gonna be fun." He whispered.
My cheeks turned red.
The rest of the ride was silent. Later the two groups met and we went to the forest area for camping.
