Chapter 973 Kill You All Catherine arrived at the agreed location, an abandoned factory on the outskirts of Loxton. She scoffed internally at the cliché setting. âReally? An abandoned factory? Feels like someoneâs playing too much into the movie tropes.â
âGot guts, coming alone,â a mechanical voice echoed, gender indiscernible.
Catherine looked up, her gaze sharp and intimidating. âIâve got the guts to come alone. Do you have the guts to show yourself?â
The mysterious person, watching her every move from behind a computer screen, aimed to negotiate. âNo need to provoke me, Catherine. Just hand over the list, and Iâll let your person go.â
âIf I can secure that list, Iâd be in the bossâs good graces. Then taking down Black Robe would be a piece of cake,â the captor thought.
Catherine remained silent, her chilling stare felt through the monitor, putting the captor on edge.
âWant the ledger? Show me the hostage first,â Catherine demanded coldly, uninterested in playing games.
The captor attempted a threat, but Catherine cut through the nonsense. No show, no deal,â she stated firmly, turning towards the door.
Catherineâs boldness took the captor by surprise. âCatherine, youâre not scared Iâll kill them?â the captor shouted.
Catherine stopped. She responded coldly, âGo ahead. But remember, Iâll hunt you down, no matter where you hide. Iâve got no morals when it comes to protecting mine. You hurt my people. I take down yours.â
Despite holding hostages, the captor felt outmatched.
As Catherine turned to leave, the guards grew anxious. âBoss, are we just going to let her walk out?â one of them asked.
âStop!â the captor finally yelled, beaten.
Catherine paused, her voice cool. â Thought it over?â
With frustration, the captor had no choice but to bring out Thomas and Scott Theo, both bound and with explosives strapped to them.
âThere, youâve seen them. Now, the list?â the captor asked, trying to regain control. Catherine ignored the demand, her focus solely on assessing Thomas and Scottâs conditions.
Thomas struggled upon seeing Catherine, urging, âWhat the hell are you doing here? Forget about us. Just go!â
The captor quickly silenced Thomas, attempting to bargain further with Catherine.
