Chapter 35 Menu Alice raised an eyebrow, her gaze sharp and defiant. âI remember it clearly,â she said. She would never forget.
Alice shut the door, not wanting to say anything more.
Noah stood outside, looking at the necklace, regretting what he had just said. But Aliceâs words had indeed been intentional. She was smart enough to understand his meaning; was she still angry?
Noah stared at the closed door:âAlice, what am I supposed to do with you?â Aliceâs mood soured. She shouldnât have held onto any false hopes, thinking her brothers would have a change of heart and regret their actions! She had underestimated Chloeâs position in her second brotherâs heart. After all, Noah was moved to tears just seeing Chloe make a bowl of plain porridge. All her years of effort in making medicinal dishes felt worthless in comparison. She would reclaim her contributions. She wouldnât join Lukeâs team, she wouldnât make medicinal porridge for Noah, and she wouldnât fix Ethanâs firewall security issues. She would withdraw her support from Alex, Caleb, and Finn as well.
When Alice opened the gaming forum, she found her post from a few days ago titled âBeginnerâs Guide on How to Achieve a TwelveâHit Comboâ had gone viral. Many people had saved it, but there were also plenty of comments mocking her for being arrogant.
Alice didnât bother to argue; she had summarized her experiences based on what that previous. person had said.
She received a private message. When she saw the senderâs profile, it turned out to be Lukeâs account. âHey, remember when you stole my boss last time?â
Of course, Alice remembered; it was intentional.
She didnât reply.
He sent another message: âHow about considering joining a professional team? The benefits are good. Iâm impressed with your skills, and joining the team would provide professional training!â As she read this message, Alice found it ironic. Luke had finally come to terms with reality, realizing Chloe was unreliable, and was now looking for new recruits since he knew she wouldnât join the competition?
Alice flatly rejected:âI refuse.â
After replying, she logged off.
Luke stared at those words, his mind flashing back to Aliceâs face. Every time she rejected him, it was always those same words.
Luke closed his computer in frustration, feeling stifled because of Alice. He was even kicked out to live elsewhere because of her, and it felt so unfair!
He regretted hitting her on the day of the revival match. But he couldnât swallow his pride; he was used to Alice always being the one to appease him.
Time flew by, and it was the last mock exam.
Alice felt confident during the exam, thinking it went pretty well. She submitted her paper early and stepped outside to get some fresh air.
1427 When Alice returned to the classroom, she saw Chloe crying at her desk, and her minions were nowhere to be found.
âChloe, donât cry. We believe you didnât cheat.âThe teacher will investigate.âYou donât need to cheat; your grades are always good.â
Hearing these conversations, Alice guessed what happened. Sheâd always suspected Chloe of faking her grades, especially since Minion #Iâs grades were surprisingly good. This hadnât happened in her past life.
Chloe had probably fell behind in her studies due to gaming and had to take risks to maintain at good ranking.
In her past life, Chloe had failed spectacularly on the college entrance exam. Alice, however, had done very well. Chloe made excuses, claiming Alice had affected her mood, causing her to perform poorly. Alice was then pressured by her brothers to attend the same university as Chloe, which was seen as compensation for affecting Chloeâs grades.
What kind of logic was that?
But in her past life, she hadnât dared to oppose her brothersâ demands and had to agree. Minion #1 burst in, confronting Chloe.âYou were the one who wanted to cheat; why am I the one getting punished?â
Chloe, tears streaming down her face, replied, âI didnât cheat! Why are you slandering me? You wrote that note yourself!â
âIt was you! Why donât you admit it? Weâre friends! Why would you betray me?â Minion #1 was frantic; the punishment would affect her college entrance exam.
Chloe, however, wore an innocent expression, and the people around began to blame Minion #1 for slandering her.
Inside, Chloe was completely calm; she knew she wouldnât get in trouble. The teacher and classmates would only believe her words.
Minion #1 looked at Alice desperately. âI finally understand how you felt. Chloe is a viper, pretending to be a saint, but sheâs a wicked woman!â
Alice smirked; Minion #1 finally understood.
Minion #1 rushed to Alice.âYou know the truth, right? Chloeâs grades are bad; Iâve been helping her with her homework. We were in the same classroom during the exam; you submitted early and must have seen it. You can testify for me to the teacher!â
Alice had always been at odds with Chloe, so she must have a way Chloe frowned; Alice probably didnât know.
to handle this.
Alice pushed Minion #1âs hand away, her tone cold. âEveryone knows how Chloe behaves; how can you unjustly accuse her?â
Minion #1âs face paled. She hadnât expected this.
Alice wasnât a saint; sheâd been hurt by these minions in her past time. Now it was time to let Minion #1 experience what sheâd endured.
After Alice said that, Chloe immediately relaxed.
Chloe looked at Minion #1 with a pitiful expression:âJust because weâre close, I canât let your make 41427 10.0%
Chapter 35 mistakes. If you sincerely apologize to the teacher and admit your mistake, I believe they will forgive you this time.â
Minion #2 agreed. âYeah, you canât just slander people.â
Minion #1 looked at Minion #2. Your turnâs coming. You better watch. out.â Minion #2 said uneasily, âWhat nonsense are you talking? Youâre the one who wanted to cheat. and got caught; you canât make Chloe lie for you.â
Minion #1 shouted, âChloe, I have proof youâve been cheating! Letâs see how you maintain you perfect student image!â
Chloeâs expression changed instantly.
Was this woman looking for trouble?
The teacher arrived. âLucy, what proof do you have?â
âI have evidence on my phone; Iâve been doing Chloeâ homework. During the exam, when I passed her the note, Alice happened to walk by the classroom; she definitely saw it.â The teacher looked at Alice.âDid you really see it?â
Alice thought for a moment; she hadnât really paid attention, only remembering Chloe looking back. Was this her chance? If she said yes, would Chloe be finished?
