âI...â
Darrion felt troubled. Apart from recruiting his own people into the company, he would hand all his work to other shareholders. He had no idea what they had done over the years.
He became flustered while Silvia stared at him. He also subconsciously lowered his head with guilt.
âMr. Torres, are you unable to answer me or refusing to answer me?â
No matter which option he chose, he would definitely fall into Silviaâs trap. Anger crossed his face.
âMiss Pond, you know that Iâm not good at managing the company. Arenât you purposely putting me in a tight spot?â
There was a cold glint in Silviaâs eyes, but she spoke with a straight face, âMr. Torres, since you realize that youâre not skilled at managing a company, it doesnât seem appropriate for you to tell me what to do.â
Darrion could not refute her.
Meanwhile, Dulcie had a document for Silvia to sign. When she arrived at the office, she saw Darrion storm out. He left without greeting her.
She pushed the door open and walked in. When she saw Silvia casually reading some documents, she curiously asked, âWhat did you say to Darrion? He looked upset when he left just now.â
Silvia did not raise her head. She continued reading as she said, âHeâs unhappy because I fired his relatives. How can I help you?â
Dulcie handed the document to Silvia and said, âThis contract needs your signature today. Please take a look. If youâre okay with it, please sign it and pass it back to me.â
âPlease ask the HR Department to recruit two secretaries for meâone man and one woman.â Silvia took the documents and said indifferently.
âOkay. Iâll put the HR Department on it now.â
After Silvia read through the document, she found no issues with it. She signed it before she looked at Dulcie and asked, âOh yeah, what is the companyâs capital shortfall now?â
Dulcie remained silent for a few seconds and answered with a troubled expression, âAt least fifty million dollars.â
Silvia frowned. âOkay, I got it. You can carry on with your work.â
After Dulcie left, Silvia checked the remaining amount of money that she could use. It was just slightly over fifty million dollars.
She called the staff of the Finance Department over. Then, she transferred the fifty million dollars to the company account. âIâm loaning this money to the company. The company can pay me back at the end of the year once the dividend is paid,â she said aloofly.
âOkay, Miss Pond.â
After the staff left, Silvia continued reading the other documents.
Darrion lost his temper in his office. He could not accept things as they were. He hesitated for a long time before he gave Sigwald Reed a call.
âMr. Reed, are you free at noon? Letâs have lunch together.â
The moment Sigwald walked into the private room at noon, Darrion stood up and greeted him enthusiastically, âMr. Reed, please have a seat!â
Sigwald was all smiles. After he sat down, he looked at Darrion and said, âMr. Torres, you invited me to have lunch so far away from the company. I guess thereâs something really important.â
Darrion had a pleasing smile as he nodded and said, âYou know me so well, Mr. Reed. Youâre probably aware that Miss Pond took action against me this morning, right?â
Sigwald took a sip of coffee before he calmly said, âMr. Torres, that is just Miss Pondâs strategic plan for the companyâs next phase of development.
Itâs very normal to fire a few people in the process.â
Besides, Darrionâs relatives knew nothing about work and just dawdled around every day. Sigwald did not see a problem with the firing.
Darrion chuckled awkwardly. âYouâre right, Mr. Reed. But do you think that Miss Pond will only fire my subordinates?â
Sigwald held the cup more tightly, but he did not answer.
Darrion resumed, âMr. Reed, Iâve always thought that you were the most capable among the shareholders. Even if Miss Pond holds the most shares, sheâs young and more impulsive. I would prefer to have you manage MY Corporation.â
âWhat are you trying to say?â
âI heard that Miss Pond has been contacting Mr. Walls from Denson Corporation, but she hasnât been able to secure the deal. Since youâre so capable, you must be able to help MY Corporation sign a contract with Denson Corporation. What do you think, Mr. Reed?â
Sigwald remained silent for a while before he said, âLet me think about it.â
...
When night came, Silvia punched out and returned to her mansion in North City. However, she was stopped by Neil.
He looked down at her with arrogance and rage-filled eyes. âSilvia Pond, even if youâre trying to make a fuss, there should be a limit! Youâre staying in another manâs house every day. Donât you care about the reputation of the Pond Family and Remus Family?â
Silvia sneered. âHow shameless are you to say that to me? When you and Ada dated in our house, did you consider our familiesâ reputation?â
Neilâs eyes were full of annoyance. âIâve told you that nothing ever happened between Ada and me!â
âYour relationship status is none of my business. Weâre getting a divorce, anyway.â
âI already tore up the divorce papers. Iâll just think of it as something you said in a moment of anger. Come back with me now. Iâll pretend as if nothing happened.â
Silvia frowned. âNeil Remus, why are you refusing to divorce me? Have you fallen for me?â
When Neil heard this, his expression was cold. He gave her a scornful look.
âDo you think thatâs possible?â
âSince itâs impossible, stop wasting my time. We should split up as soon as possible while Iâm still young. That way, I can find another man.â
When Neil saw her impatience, he expressed his displeasure and subconsciously frowned.
âAre you still thinking about finding another man?â
âWhy not?â Silvia looked at him with disinterest. âWhatâs the difference between staying with you and being a widow? Iâm going to find my own happiness.â
Neil was speechless.
Anger instantly consumed him. He could not hold it back no matter what.
He was sure that he did not love Silvia, yet she could easily trigger his irrational anger.
Clearly displeased, he said through his gritted teeth, âItâs possible for you to divorce me. But youâll have to pay me for wasting my youth on you for the past few years!â

ï¤Chapter 20 Silvia was totally baffled.
Neil saw how Silvia was staring at him like he was insane. âIf you can give me a compensation of fifty million dollars, Iâll agree to the divorce,â he said coldly.
Silvia remained silent for a few seconds before she looked at Neil with a serious expression. âAre you sure that youâll divorce me if I pay you fifty million dollars?â
âYes, but you canât use the money that I gave you.â
Silvia had lived with the Remus Family these past few years. When she married Neil, he gave her a black card with unlimited spending, but she never used it.
On his birthdays, she would hand make his gifts, so Neil thought that she would not be able to produce so much money.
Silvia remained silent for a few seconds before she nodded and said, âOkay, Iâm fine with it.â
âIâm only giving you a week. If you canât pay me fifty million dollars in a week, donât even mention the divorce again!â
Silvia frowned. âNeil Remus, isnât your condition too harsh?â
Neil scoffed. âYouâre the one who asked for the divorce. Now that Iâm giving you a chance, youâre unhappy. Silvia Pond, I wonder if youâre playing hard to get.â
Silvia rolled her eyes. âOne week then. Can you get out of here now?â she said curtly.
When Neil saw the annoyance in her eyes, he added, âBefore we divorce, you have to move back in.â
âNeil Remus, donât push it!â
