There was no emotion in Silvia’s eyes as she stared at Ada. “Do I have to pay attention when you talk to me?”

Ada spluttered and instantly got angrier. She gritted her teeth and said, “Just you wait!”

She left after that, but because she was in a hurry, she stumbled and fell straight down the stairs.

“Ah!”

Ada screamed miserably and covered her belly. She was in so much pain that her face became distorted.

“My belly hurts!”

Silvia wanted to ignore her at first. However, when she remembered that Ada was pregnant, she called the ambulance.

There was a hospital near the restaurant, so the ambulance arrived quickly.

Silvia decided to leave once the paramedics carried Ada into the vehicle. But one of the paramedics stopped her.

“You’re her family, aren’t you? Please get into the ambulance. She’ll have to undergo a series of tests when she arrives at the hospital. It’s not a good idea for her to be alone.”

After that, she dragged Silvia into the ambulance as well. Before Silvia could refuse, the doors closed, so she could only go to the hospital.

When she arrived, she immediately sent Mindy a text and told her that Ada had fallen down. Then, she put her phone away and walked out.

As she turned the corner, she met Isla.

Isla had some medication in her hands, which reminded Silvia that David was in the same hospital too.

They did not have a chance to talk last time, so Silvia could not ask her about her relationship with David.

“Silvia, why are you here?”

“I had something to do. Are you still taking care of David?”

Silvia knew Isla well. If she did not have any feelings for David, she would not put her work aside to take care of him.

Isla nodded. “Yeah. He’ll be discharged in half a month. I promised that I would take care of him until then.”

When Silvia’s expression darkened, she immediately explained, “Don’t misunderstand. There’s nothing between me and him. Nothing will happen in the future too.”

Silvia frowned. “Have you fallen for him?”

“Yes. No one has ever risked their life for me. He ran toward me the moment the wire snapped. Right then, I knew that I had fallen for him,” Isla admitted without hesitation.

Silvia looked down in silence. There was no way to control one’s feelings. As an outsider, she could only watch as Isla fell in love.

Seeing that Silvia was quiet, Isla wore a self-deprecating smile. “Don’t worry. I know that my family background isn’t good enough for him. I don’t see us being together either.”

Silvia looked at her with a frown and said, “Don’t look down on yourself. There’s no hierarchy in relationships. If you really like him and you want to fight for your relationship, do it boldly. I’ll always back you up.”

When Isla heard this, her eyes turned red. She nodded and said, “Thank you, Silvia.”

“Go on, but don’t let your relationship affect your job.”

“Don’t worry. I won’t let that happen.”

They parted ways, and Silvia received a call from Neil right after she walked out of the hospital.

“Where are you?”

“I’m at the hospital.”

“Why are you there all of a sudden?”

She heard the concern in his voice, so she explained, “I was discussing business with a collaborator when I met Ada. She fell down by accident, so I followed her to the hospital.”

Neil only replied after a few seconds.

“Wait for me. I’ll be there in a minute.”

He hung up before she could turn him down.
