âYes!â
Over in Imperial First Hospitalâs Inpatient Department, Chris was lying sideways on his bed in the VIP ward. He looked out the window with an indifferent expression.
His manager peeled an orange for him and slowly said, âChris, eat some fruits.â
Ever since he found out that his manager had lied to Silvia due to Alanâs coercion, his attitude toward everyone had been cold. He would only eat and stare out the window blankly every day. He did not care even when others talked to him.
âI donât want to eat.â
His manager sighed and said, âEven if you want to tell Silvia that youâre the one who saved her, you should at least recover first.â
Chris closed his eyes and said, âI want to be alone. Leave.â
Seeing that he was not in the mood to talk, his manager did not say anything else. She just put down the orange and left the ward quietly.
Only then did Chris open his eyes again.
His manager and Alan were wrong. He did not want to meet Silvia. He was relieved to know that she was safe, and he did not want to disturb her anymore.
He just needed time to suppress his feelings for her.
That was it.
Meanwhile, the doctors examined Abalene after she was admitted to the hospital. However, they found nothing. All of her markers were normal, but she showed no signs of waking up.
They could only give her nutrient injections based on the doctorsâ suggestion.
âMr. Remus, I suggest transferring the patient to Imperial First Hospital. After all, the equipment there is more advanced than ours. Perhaps they can spot anything that weâve missed.â
Neil was not pleased. âTransfer her immediately.â
Abalene was unconscious, so he could not be bothered whether Silvia would meet Chris or not.
Nevertheless, he still called Alan in advance. He asked Alan to watch Chris closely and keep him away from them.
Even though Abalene had gone to Imperial First Hospital for an examination, the results remained the same.
Neilâs expression darkened. âThese people are trash! How can they not know why Grandma fainted?â
The doctor who examined Abalene knew that Neil had power. He was so frightened that he trembled.
Silvia frowned and said, âMr. Remus, donât be anxious. Why donât I contact Dr. Russell, who treated your legs previously, and see if he can help?â
Neil nodded. âOkay. You must be tired. Iâll ask someone to send you back later. I can take care of Grandma.â
âOkay.â
Silvia walked to the side as she called Winston. She knew that Winston happened to be attending a conference in Imperial City. When she told him about Abalene, he agreed to come over immediately.
Half an hour later, Winston came to examine Abaleneâs body.
When he measured her pulse, his expression slowly grew solemn. He checked Abaleneâs tongue, and there was indeed a quick rescue pill under it.
If it had not been for the pill, Abalene would be dead now.
He looked at Neil and said, âMr. Remus, Madam Remusâs illness is a little complicated. I have to go back and prepare some medication.â
Neil frowned. âHow long will it take?â
âAbout one day.â
His eyes shone with dissatisfaction. He planned to give Winston half a day, but Silvia suddenly said, âIn that case, please hurry, Dr. Russell. Iâll send you out.â
When Silvia left with Winston, Neilâs eyes were full of suspicion.
Silvia and Winston acted as if they were mere acquaintances, but some of their interactions indicated that they were close.
When Neil thought about it, his gaze grew colder.
Once Winston left the ward, he softly said, âSilvia, itâll be difficult to treat this illness. I guess youâll have to do it.â
