Dylanâs expression darkened. He had a bad feeling about this.
His mother, Agnes Obrien, was sitting beside him. When she heard the announcement, she spoke in frustration, âWhat a lousy airline! This isnât over until they give us proper compensation!â
Dylan glared at her. âEnough! Mom, stop complaining!â
Agnes had always doted on him since he was her only son. After he reprimanded her, she reluctantly kept quiet.
The passengers began to leave the plane in succession. When only half of them remained, Dylan and Agnes stood up to join the others off the plane.
Dylan had assumed that he would not stand out among the crowd. However, as soon as he returned to the airport waiting area, two casually-dressed men approached him.
âMr. Reed, please come with us.â
Dylanâs expression darkened, and he subconsciously took a few steps back.
âWhy should I go with you? I donât know you!â
The man in a black shirt remained serious. âMr. Reed, I donât want to take you away by force, so please cooperate.â
Dylan raised his voice, âWeâre at the airport! I donât know you at all. You canât take me away by force! Thatâs against the law!â
His loud complaint caught the attention of many people nearby.
Dylan was relieved. He thought that with so many witnesses, they would not dare do anything harmful to him. After all, others would not simply stand by and watch without intervening.
One of the men took out a police badge from his pocket. âMr. Reed, weâre the police. Youâre a suspect in a kidnapping case. Please come with us and assist us with our investigation.â
When people around saw the police badge, they stepped back and became wary of Dylan.
A kidnapping case meant that he was a criminal, and they did not want to get involved with such a person.
Dylanâs expression turned pale, and he angrily said, âWhat the hell are you saying?! I donât understand at all!â
âMr. Reed, please cooperate with the investigation.â
When he heard this, Dylan quickly ran toward the airportâs entrance.
He could not afford to get caught by the police. His life would be ruined!
The two police officers were prepared, and they immediately chased him. Just as Dylan was about to enter a taxi, one of them tackled him to the ground and handcuffed him.
Agnes was shocked by the sudden turn of events. It took her a while to react, and she started running after them.
As she reached the airportâs entrance, she saw Dylan being shoved into a police car.
She turned pale and quickly caught up to block the police. âLet go of my son! He could never kidnap anyone! Heâs always been good! If you donât let him go, I wonât let you off the hook!â she shouted in anger.
Seeing that Agnes was making a scene, the police arrested her for obstruction of justice and took her to the police station.
Despite her protests, Dylan was taken straight to the interrogation room.
Meanwhile, Silvia drove out of the city but failed to spot any sign of Dulcie. She started to feel anxious.
Suddenly, her phone rang. Seeing that it was a call from Neil, she answered quickly.
âHave you found out where Dulcie is?â
âNot yet.â
Neil sounded serious. âThe police caught Dylan, who was trying to escape abroad. He confessed to getting some thugs he knew from gambling. They tried to sell her to him.â
Silviaâs face turned pale when she heard this. âIf anything happens to Dulcie, I wonât let him go!â
âDonât worry too much for now. Henry has people out there searching. We should receive news soon. Why donât you come back first.â
Silvia took a deep breath and said, âIâll look for a while more. If thereâs any news from Henry, let me know immediately.â
After the call ended, ruthlessness filled her eyes. She had initially considered being lenient toward Sigwald and his family, but she regretted that decision.

With a stern look, Silvia immediately called Joe.
âGive all the evidence we found on Sigwald and his family to the police!â
Once she gave the order, she put down her phone and continued driving in search of Dulcie.
At the same time, Henry had sent out several people, who quickly found Dulcieâs exact location.
