Silvia did not want to dwell on the subject, so she talked about something else with Chris.

The two of them stayed in the ward for half an hour before they left. When they reached the hospital’s entrance, they saw Neil standing beside Dulcie’s car. He was clearly waiting for them.

Dulcie tugged on Silvia’s sleeve and softly said, “Sil, since Mr. Remus is here to see you, should I give the two of you some space?”

“No. I’ll just say a few words. Then, we can leave.”

“I’ll enter the car first.”

Silvia walked up to Neil and stoically said, “Mr. Remus, you’re becoming a nuisance. I hope you’ll stop showing up in front of me.”

Neil’s eyes were full of pain. “Sil, I’m sorry. Can you forgive me one more time?”

After that, she opened the car door and got in.

“Dul, let’s go.”

Dulcie started the car and drove into traffic. Eventually, she cast a glance at Silvia and spoke softly, “What did he do? You seem so determined to break up.”

In the next two weeks, Neil did not show his face in front of Silvia.

“I know you have feelings for Mr. Remus, so I’m willing to wait.”

Silvia shook her head. “I’ve broken up with him, but that doesn’t mean I’ll fall for someone else.”
